A Massive 56% of Consumers Who Make International Calls Would Switch Services According to New Survey

14% of Americans Now Making Video Calls with 34% of Video Callers Willing to Pay A Monthly Fee

San Francisco, USA & Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) September 28, 2010

Rebtel, the world’s largest independent mobile VoIP company, today announced part one of a two-part September 2010 survey conducted on their behalf by Harris Interactive online, which measured consumer sentiment on long distance calling services and providers.

According to responses, a strong majority (56%) of U. S. adults who make international phone calls would switch the way they make them. The study also found that more than 2 in 5 of these adults (43%) say they would switch to using their mobile phone to make those calls. “The message seems clear, consumers want to change their existing provider and change to calling from a mobile handset,” said Andreas Bernstrom, CEO of Rebtel.

Of the adults who said they would switch to their mobile phone, 19% said they would switch to using special long distance packages, while 16% said they would switch to using their mobile phone using regular carrier calling rates. A surprising 11% said they would use a VoIP service/application.

“This signals a major opportunity for calling companies and services to capture a majority of the U. S. consumer market. Our findings demonstrate that international calling is a wide open market for innovative and inexpensive calling services, and will allow services like Google Voice to pose a real threat to operators.”

In terms of video calls, 14% of Americans said they currently make them, with a staggering 34% of respondents saying they would be willing to pay a monthly fee. "This opens up a new, non-ad based revenue model for providers like Skype who are looking to monetize on their video services”, said Bernstrom. Of those that re-plied ‘yes’ to making these calls, 15% said they would be willing to pay under $5, with 7% stating they would be willing to spend between $5 and $10 a month. 6% said they would spend more than $10, and another 6% said they would be willing to pay no matter what the cost.

Of those that replied ‘yes’ to paying a monthly fee for these calls, 44% said they would be willing to pay under $5, with 21% stating they would be willing to spend between $5 and $10 a month. 18% said they would spend more than $10, and 17% said they would be willing to pay no matter what the cost.

This survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Interactive on behalf of Rebtel from September 1 – 3, 2010 among 2,258 adults ages 18 and older. This online survey is not based on a probability sample and therefore no estimate of theoretical sampling error can be calculated. Empowering Patients to Lead Fully Mobile Lives

Empowering Patients to Lead Fully Mobile Lives

High risk and chronically ill patients in Europe may soon find themselves able to lead independent and fully mobile lives thanks to the work of a project that has developed a Body Area Network of wireless sensors to remotely monitor vital signs.

(PRWEB) March 4, 2005

Since this IST-funded project MobiHealth ended in February 2004, the project partners have gone on to further develop the mobile healthcare system and expect to have a commercial product on the market by early next year, potentially marking a major advancement in European healthcare with benefits for both patients and doctors.

Patient empowerment

“Patient empowerment is all about ensuring patients can be independent and can go about their daily lives in comfort, it’s about not letting a disease constrain your life, about being able to go to work safe in the knowledge that if there are complications a healthcare professional is watching over you,” explains MobiHealth coordinator Rainer Herzog at Ericsson Enterprise in Germany.

That empowerment of patients was brought a step closer to becoming reality by the MobiHealth project with the creation of a comprehensive monitoring system that is among the most advanced developed to date.

“It’s highly advanced in the sense that it provides continuous, automatic data collection and transmission in real-time,” Herzog says. “Other systems generally store the data and then have to synchronise it locally with the databases of healthcare workers.”

At the heart of the MobiHealth system is what the project partners have termed a Body Area Network (BAN) comprised of wearable, non-intrusive sensors to monitor vital signs – everything from heart and breathing rates to oxygen saturation and muscular activity.

“The network is very adaptable in that different sensors can be added to monitor different body functions depending on the patient’s illness,” the coordinator notes.

The sensors are connected via Bluetooth wireless technology to a Mobile Base Unit, in essence a programmable mobile phone or PDA, that then transmits the data over GPRS or UMTS to the patientÂ’s doctor or healthcare centre.

MobiHealth on trial

Evaluation testing in 2003 showed the stability and effectiveness of the MobiHealth system as well as the feasibility of it being used in a wide range of medical fields. In trials in The Netherlands, for example, the system was used with trauma patients and pregnant women; in Sweden it was used to keep track of respiration and physical activity; in Germany to monitor cardiac patients; and in Spain it was tested in rehabilitation and homecare scenarios.

“The trials validated the feasibility of the system, not only from a technological and medical viewpoint but also in terms of acceptability,” Herzog says. “Almost everyone involved – patients and doctors – agreed that the system offered significant advantages. Patients particularly liked being monitored, with many saying that it gave them peace of mind and encouraged them to do more activities, while doctors saw that they could improve quality of care while reducing the workload.”

In an extension of the project’s original goals, the partners have also set about creating a “powerful analytical tool” to process the raw data received from the system and present it to healthcare workers in an “easy to use” format.

From the point of view of healthcare providers mobile health techniques will prove essential in the future if EuropeÂ’s overburdened national public health systems are to reduce costs while maintaining standards. By providing patientsÂ’ with remote monitoring services they do not necessarily need to take up a hospital bed or visit their doctor everyday, but will still receive the same or an even better quality of care.

That is the central premise behind the market areas being studied by the project partners for a commercial application of their system.

Towards commercialisation

“We are currently targeting the system toward four market areas that would be able to make the most out of MobiHealth initially,” Herzog notes. “People with chronic diseases, such as heart disease and asthma; people at risk, such as women with high-risk pregnancies; patients who have been hospitalised for surgery and who can be kept under observation remotely rather than keeping them in for in a hospital bed; and the pharmaceutical industry, where the system could be used to reduce the time and cost of clinical trials for drugs.”

The project coordinator also points to the potential for MobiHealth to be employed to monitor the elderly and disabled, given that the BAN can include a panic alarm and a “drop alarm” which will alert healthcare workers if a patient falls down and remains immobile.

“We’ve also included a localisation system based on triangulation between mobile relay antennas to allow emergency services to locate a patient in need,” Herzog notes.

The project partners are due to perform further evaluations of MobiHealth this year in order to gain authorisation for the technology from European health authorities with the aim of having a commercial system available in the first half of 2006.

Harley Medical Group Reveal Feeling Comfortable With a New Look Can Take Time

Harley Medical Group Reveal Feeling Comfortable With a New Look Can Take Time

New research from The Harley Medical Group has shown that before & after pictures can aid cosmetic surgery recovery as two thirds of patients use pictures as a constant reminder of their new look.

(PRWEB) January 30, 2008

Results of research released by The Harley Medical Group reveals nearly two thirds (64%) of cosmetic surgery patients take up to six months to recognise and feel comfortable with their new look. The remaining third (36%) cannot imagine that they ever looked any different.

The research was conducted by The Harley Medical Group (http://www. harleymedical. co. uk/ (http://www. harleymedical. co. uk/)) amongst their patients. Staff at Harley Medical Group use before and after pictures as a tool to allow patients to see their remarkable evolution and ease them into their new look. Staff have noted that this is an essential tool for the recovery process from cosmetic surgery (http://www. harleymedical. co. uk/ (http://www. harleymedical. co. uk/)).

Liz Dale from the Harley Medical Group said: 'It is very important for the patient to understand the full extent of what they have gone through and its life altering effects. It is an essential part of the recovery process. With the use of before and after pictures we enable the patient to visualise the dramatic change they've experienced. Patients often carry the photos around with them as a constant reminder of what they've been through.'

The Harley Medical Group are now releasing before and after images on their website to show how cosmetic surgery can give patients a new boost of confidence. New before and after images on the site include, breast enlargement (http://www. harleymedical. co. uk/cosmetic-surgery-for-women/breast-surgery/breast-enlargement-implants-and-augmentation/ (http://www. harleymedical. co. uk/cosmetic-surgery-for-women/breast-surgery/breast-enlargement-implants-and-augmentation/)) and eyebag removal (http://www. harleymedical. co. uk/cosmetic-surgery-for-women/the-face/eye-bag-removal/ (http://www. harleymedical. co. uk/cosmetic-surgery-for-women/the-face/eye-bag-removal/)) with real life stories from patients.

The Harley Medical Group ensures that all patients are thoroughly interviewed before they undergo any form of surgery. This is to make sure that the patient is 100% happy with the cosmetic surgery they are going to undertake and that they are fully aware of all procedures and outcomes. At this point a "before" picture is also taken as a record of the procedure. Before and after pictures from other procedures are also used to help demonstrate the dramatic results that are achievable.

Once the surgery is complete the patient is shown their before and after pictures, giving them a continual reminder of what they once looked like, and ultimately reassuring them that the surgery that they have had was all worth while.

Notes to Editor:
The Harley Medical Group has been established for over 25 years and is one of the most highly-regarded Cosmetic Surgery Groups operating in the UK. In 2004, The Harley Medical Group's Chairman Mel Braham, at the request of the Department of Health became a member of the department's Steering Committee, set up to oversee the introduction of new regulations covering the entire Cosmetic Surgery sector. All of The Harley Medical Group's clinics are registered with the Healthcare Commission. There are now 20 clinics in the UK and Ireland: London (Harley Street, Wimbledon, The City & Watford) Marlow, Birmingham, Leeds, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Chester, Nottingham, Southampton, Cardiff, Chelmsford, Dublin and Belfast.

TRA Provides Free Guidance Document on Using IndustrySafe Safety Software to Complete OSHA Logs

TRA Provides Free Guidance Document on Using IndustrySafe Safety Software to Complete OSHA Logs

TRA is pleased to announce a free guidance document on using IndustrySafe Safety Management Software, to complete OSHA logs. IndustrySafe Safety Software provides organizations with incident tracking, OSHA reporting, inspections, training tracking, claims, hazards, corrective actions and more.

Philadelphia (PRWEB) December 9, 2008

TRA (www. industrysafe. com) is pleased to announce a free guidance document on using IndustrySafe Safety Management Software to complete OSHA logs. IndustrySafe Safety Management Software provides organizations with web-based safety data management tools including incident tracking, OSHA recordkeeping, and OSHA logs, inspections, training tracking, hazards, behavioral based safety, claims, corrective actions and more.

TRA recognizes that the annual completion of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) logs for almost all organizations in the United States can be a regulatory and compliance burden. An OSHA log (or rather several OSHA logs known as the 300, 301, and 300A) is used to report work-related employee injuries and illnesses (and is required for most United States organizations with more than 10 employees). The OSHA 300A log is required to be available for employee viewing from February 1st to April 30th for incidents occurring with the previous year. The OSHA logs include information about the employee injuries including the number of days away from work as well as the number of days for which an employee had restricted or transferred duty due to the injury and illness. IndustrySafe Safety Management Software reduces this burden by automatically completing the OSHA logs for the organizations using the system.

While IndustrySafe is an easy to use system that allows for easy entry of incidents, including those incidents that are OSHA reportable, TRA recognized that its clients (and potential) clients are continually trying to do more with less. End of the Year reporting of environmental health and safety statistics can be time consuming and stressful. "This easy to use guidance document highlights the key features of OSHA reporting that are available with the IndustrySafe system" explains, Clare Epstein, Vice President of Information Technology for TRA. She continues, "While OSHA reporting appears to be relatively straight forward; for organizations with multiple locations and multiple OSHA reportable injuries, there are nuances to the OSHA reporting that IndustrySafe handles appropriately and we wanted one easy-to-use client friendly guidance document to highlight those nuances."

IndustrySafe Safety Software also allows for the automatic calculation of Total Case Incident Rates (TCIR) and Days Away Restricted Transfer Rate (DART). TCIR and DART rates are used by organizations to compare their injury and illness rates over time and to organizations in similar industries. "The use of IndustrySafe to calculate TCIR and DART rates is a time saving feature that our clients identify as very valuable", states Gabriel Tompkins, TRA's Project Manager. The IndustrySafe OSHA guidance document also provides detail on the IndustrySafe calculation of DART and TCIR rates.

The guidance document is available free for all clients and potential clients and is available on the IndustrySafe website at http://industrysafe. com/resources/guidance_document. pdf (http://industrysafe. com/resources/guidance_document. pdf). TRA is also offering free webinars available to anyone interesting in learning how IndustrySafe Safety Software can assist with OSHA log reporting. Interested individuals can sign up here http://industrysafe. com/webinar. html (http://industrysafe. com/webinar. html).

About IndustrySafe. IndustrySafe Safety Software is a web-based safety data management product developed by TRA so organizations can track incidents, corrective actions, OSHA reporting, training, claims, inspections, hazards, behavioral based safety, and more. IndustrySafe clients include leaders in manufacturing, construction, government, and transportation.

Offering free homework help on everything from reading to math, social studies, art, music, and even foreign languages, The Beehive is one of the most comprehensive homework help websites on the Internet.

"There are many keys to success in helping our children get better grades. The rich content for the site includes resources provided by The National Education Association, the US Department of Education, and many other free online resources. Schools are encouraged to link their own websites to this new free homework help resource in order to offer it to as many students as possible.

In addition to homework help, the site also provides advice to parents on how to motivate children: by showing them you care, by participating in their education from the elementary school level, right through middle school to high school.

Practical Homework Suggestions

"TheBeehive. org is a central place to get all kinds of tips on how to improve education, " said Lianne Saunders, a regular user of website. The information contained in this site is well-organized, easy to use, and fun, so it is a big help for my two children, both in middle school. One of the great suggestions on the site that I've already used was to create a scrapbook of their projects and accomplishments. I really appreciate the ways I can help my children learn by involving myself in their learning, and by providing the best possible environment for them to do their homework."

Allegheny Medical's PeopleCare Team Offers Complimentary Osteoporosis Screenings and Arthritis Consultations

Allegheny Medical's PeopleCare Team Offers Complimentary Osteoporosis Screenings and Arthritis Consultations

Service line provides full-scale physical medicine treatment programs for individuals with chronic or acute pain

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) September 2, 2010

Allegheny Medical Integrated Health Services (http://www. alleghenymedical. com/ (http://www. alleghenymedical. com/))], one of Pittsburgh's premiere health care facilities, is an organization of physicians and health care professionals whose mission is to build better health for every aspect of an individual's life. Allegheny Medical is pleased to announce that they offer free bone density screenings (http://www. alleghenymedical. com/peoplecare/arthritis-osteoporosis. php) and arthritis consultations at their Cliff Mine Road location.

Osteoporosis is a disease that causes bones to lose their mass and break easily. It affects over 25 million Americans, and 80% of its victims are women.

The good news is that osteoporosis can be prevented. However, if it is not prevented or is left untreated, osteoporosis can continue to silently progress without pain until a bone breaks. These breaks or fractures often occur in the wrist, spine, and hip.

A bone mass measurement or bone density test can be performed in order to tell if an individual has osteoporosis. This quick, complimentary screening is offered at Allegheny Medical, and results can be delivered in as little as 5 minutes.

Arthritis (http://www. alleghenymedical. com/peoplecare/arthritis-osteoporosis. php) is another common condition treated by the PeopleCare team. Arthritis occurs when there is inflammation in one or more of the joints, for example the wrists or knees. The primary symptoms of arthritis are stiffness and joint pain, and when arthritis is severe, it can interfere with an individual's daily routine, making many everyday tasks much more difficult.

At Allegheny Medical, the treatment of arthritis (http://www. alleghenymedical. com/peoplecare/arthritis-osteoporosis. php) is focused on improving joint function and alleviating symptoms.

The personalized care programs that Allegheny Medical's PeopleCare team creates begin with an in-depth evaluation of an individual's health status. Once the patient's health has been assessed, the health risks and needs are identified, and treatment initiatives that target specific areas of concern are developed.

For personalized help and treatment of osteoporosis (http://www. alleghenymedical. com/peoplecare/arthritis-osteoporosis. php) or arthritis symptoms, please contact Allegheny Medical today. The PeopleCare team consists of specially trained physicians, nurses, dietitians, physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists dedicated to solving individuals' key health problems and addressing their health needs. Complimentary, personalized consultation appointments as well as screenings can be scheduled by calling (412) 494-4554.

Discount Health Benefits Plans: A Sensible Alternative to Traditional Insurance Plans

Discount Health Benefits Plans: A Sensible Alternative to Traditional Insurance Plans

A recent poll revealed that over 70% of Americans are either uninsured or underinsured. Surprisingly, the majority are from middle class households. Many of who are not offered health benefits by their employer or whom can’t afford the high-priced insurance premiums being offered.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) May 24, 2006

In some states, there is an epidemic of children whose teeth are slowly rottening due to the lack of proper dental care. To help bring relief to this growing crisis, discount health care benefits providers have emerged. These companies do not provide health insurance, but they give an alternative that allows consumers to receive discounted fees per service. Unlike traditional insurance plans, these companies often have little or no exclusions, such as pre-existing conditions. Another plus is that consumers with immediate health care needs, can usually be seen by a doctor without having to wait for their coverage to “kick in”.

A potential drawback to discount health benefits plan is that consumers will pay for services upfront or at the time of service; unless other arrangements are made with that individual provider. This, in contrary to paying a co-pay or deductible at the time of service. Consumers with flexible spending accounts or medical savings accounts will be able to take advantage of this circumstance.

In some situations, depending on your health care provider’s policies, consumers have been able to use both the discount health plan alongside their insurance for even deeper savings. For example, you go into the dentist office for an extraction. The bill is $300. You hand your discount card to the insurance department, she gives you the discount, which normally ranges from 50 – 80%. This cuts your bill by up to $240! Leaving you with $60 left to pay. You pay the $60. Then file a claim with your insurance company for the $60. Let’s say your insurance company pays 80% of your bill. They will refund you $48 (80%), leaving you with a net bill of only $12, for what would have cost $300 normal price, or $60 with your insurance alone.

While some consumers are struggling with the high and growing price of insurance, others are discovering the savings of discount health benefits plans. By the year 2010, it is predicted that consumer driven health care, will be the future, leaving traditional insurance plans, to be a thing of the past.

Philadelphia, PA (Vocus) July 26, 2010

Mason Crest Publishers announces the Getting the Edge: Conditioning, Injuries, and Legal & Illicit Drugs series of educational books (http://www. masoncrest. com). The 14-volume series will be available in the fall 2010 and is written for young people who are interested in learning about various sports and how to participate in them safely. Each volume examines the history of the sport and the rules of play; it also acts as a guide for prevention and treatment of injuries, and includes instruction on stretching, warming up, and strength training, all of which can help players avoid the most common musculoskeletal injuries. Each volume also includes tips on healthy nutrition for athletes, as well as information on the risks of using performance-enhancing drugs or other illegal substances.

“Every athlete wants to find that special formula of training, skill, and nutrition that will allow him or her to excel,” said Louis Cohen, Principal of Mason Crest Publishers. “Written for young adults, these books provide young athletes with the facts about their favorite sports: the history of the sport; how to get in shape, both mentally and physically; how to avoid injuries; and why performance-enhancing drugs do more to damage sports careers than they do to build them. Each book includes real-life anecdotes from the sports world, to inspire young athletes (http://www. masoncrest. com) and illustrate healthy and powerful ways to help them find their “edge.””

The editorial consultants for this series are Susan Saliba, Ph. D. and Eric Small, M. D. Dr. Saliba is a senior associate athletic trainer and a clinical instructor at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. A certified athletic trainer and licensed physical therapist, Dr. Saliba provides sports medicine care, including prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for the varsity athletes at the university. He is also Director of the Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes at Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Small has served on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Sports Medicine, where he develops national policy regarding children’s medical issues and sports.

“The Getting the Edge series offers ways for readers to healthily and legally improve their performance and gain more enjoyment from playing sports,” said Ellyn Sanna, Coordinating Editor of the series. “Young athletes will find these volumes informative and helpful in their pursuit of excellence.”

The text helps the reader appreciate and gain awareness of the sport’s history, standard training techniques, common injuries, dietary guidelines, and the dangers of using drugs to gain an advantage.

“Written in a direct and easily accessible style, Getting the Edge is an enjoyable series that will help young people learn about sports and sports medicine,” said Sanna.

Bella's @ Beebe 1st Hospital in 1st State to Carry Organic/Vegan Treats

Bella's @ Beebe 1st Hospital in 1st State to Carry Organic/Vegan Treats

Bella’s Cookies of Delaware, places their organic & vegan products into the Beebe Medical Center. Beebe becomes first hospital on Delmarva to offer organic & vegan snacks.

Milton, DE (PRWEB) September 20, 2006

This week, Beebe Medical Center introduced Bella's Cookies to its employees and visitors of their hospital. Now available in Beebe’s "Sunshine Café," Bella’s Cookies is steadily changing the “snacking” landscape across Delmarva.

"Beebe has become the 1st hospital on Delmarva to offer any type of organic or vegan snacks & we're extremely excited that our cookies are that snack," said Mark Leishear (Director of Sales & Marketing of Bella's Cookies). Bella's Cookies of Milton is named after Mark & Kelly Leishear’s 5 year old daughter, Bella, and the company was born out of concern of what children everywhere are offered for snacks. Bella's adheres to a strict policy of only using organic, all natural or vegan ingredients in their products; and by doing so eliminates dangerous pesticides that are sprayed on certain crops used to manufacture their ingredients.

Bella’s also adheres to a 5 “No” motto: “No Trans Fats, No Hydrogenated Oils, No Artificial Flavors or Colors, No Preservatives & No High Fructose Corn Syrup.” This summer, the company’s vegan breakfast line (designed as a meal replacer) had trouble staying on the shelves of retailers. "The breakfast line was designed to provide a wholesome, nutritious snack for those on the go and they've been a hot commodity.” Bella's newest Breakfast Cookie (Fruit Melody) offers 8 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber & has only 1.5 grams of saturated fat per cookie. “We’re thrilled to support our customer desires for more healthier food choices as well as greater variety” said Kathi Fryling (Director of Nutritional Services for Beebe Medical Center) "and we're supporting local business... it's a win-win situation." Bella's signature line (with butter & eggs) will also be available for those craving that variety. Bella’s “Rumazin” and “Champion Chunk” will be available in September, with their “Choco-Bomb” and “Hunky Punky” making returns in October. October and November will also see new additions to both their vegan and signature lines; cookies the company has tested this summer while vending at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market.

Look for Bella's Cookies at their newest location... Beebe Medical Center. The organic food industry has garnered attention as of recent, as consumers are taking a closer look at what exactly they're feeding their bodies. And while it's difficult to make a complete immediate overhaul in one's eating habits, little changes often lead to larger ones... Bella's Cookies may be your start.

Bella's Cookies is Delaware's 1st all natural/organic & vegan cookie company and specializes in the aforementioned as well as holiday cookies. Cookies can be purchased at various retail locations throughout Delaware & Maryland, ordered online at www. BellasCookies. com, or ordered by phone at 302-684-8152. For more information on Bella's Cookies, visit their website.

IAPAM Launches Aesthetic Medicine News Site

IAPAM Launches Aesthetic Medicine News Site

The International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPAM) AestheticMedicineNews. com website educates physicians, medical spa owners, media and the public on the latest aesthetic medical news and medical spa procedures.

Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) July 9, 2008

With the current boom for minimally invasive anti-aging treatments, the first person many people go to is their physician. Moreover, between new State regulations and the need for industry-leading clinical education, practitioners agree that more timely and accessible information is required. Therefore, to meet this industry need, the IAPAM has launched Aesthetic Medicine News (http://www. AestheticMedicineNews. com (http://www. AestheticMedicineNews. com)), a one-stop web portal where medspa practitioners and patients alike can find the latest in aesthetic medicine innovations, medical spa news and much, much more.

The IAPAM's AestheticMedicineNews. com website provides healthcare professionals with the latest information on the growing aesthetic medicine industry. "We even have a 'Resources Section for physicians' where they can educate themselves on the latest procedures, training programs and industry conferences & events," says IAPAM executive-director, Jeff Russell.

"This is the first interactive site, where both physicians and the public can come and learn the latest advances in the aesthetic medicine field," Russell comments. "The problem with the internet is that information is there; but it is often 'hard to mine'. To facilitate accessibility, IAPAM has created the AestheticMedicineNews. com as an easily navigable 'one-stop' information source, where physicians can study the latest advances, medical spa owners can find out about the most up to date legal and marketing information, and the public can educate and even watch videos of the latest procedures in aesthetic medicine," advises Russell.

In addition to cutting edge aesthetic clinical information, the site also offers an "FDA Watch", highlighting the latest information, warnings, and FDA approvals in the aesthetic medicine industry.

Furthermore, for those who own medical spas, the site includes an entire section on marketing tips and articles, including: "Niche Marketing of an Aesthetic Practice," "Creating Word of Mouth Referrals," and "5 Easy Ways to Skyrocket Your Aesthetic Practice."

Equally, AestheticMedicineNews. com also has a comprehensive medical weight management section for the latest in medically supervised weight loss. This section showcases the latest FDA approved weight management equipment like the various laser and ultra-sound assisted liposuction devices and fat dissolving injection treatments. Moreover, the website publishes information on the latest breakthroughs currently undergoing the FDA approvals process, like the Ultrashape and Liposonix technologies.

Finally, this web based information tool contains a complete selection of aesthetic procedures videos, which patients are likely to find in a medical spa, including: Botox®, dermal fillers, laser hair removal, acne, chemical peels, mesotherapy, lipodissolve, fractional skin resurfacing, as well as the latest medical weight loss programs.

And accessibility has never been easier. "The site incorporates RSS feeds, so clients can stream up-to-the-minute industry information right to their desktops. Professionals can also sign-up for the monthly Aesthetic Medicine News e-newsletter," says Russell.

Though Joining Late... Pakistan Gains Visible Presence in Long-Term Tsunami Relief Works, Scientist of the Year Launches a Gigantic Mission

Though Joining Late... Pakistan Gains Visible Presence in Long-Term Tsunami Relief Works, Scientist of the Year Launches a Gigantic Mission

World renowned epidemiologist Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb Hafi has voluntarily conducted an extensive research in Tsunami Affected coastal areas and has given alarming details.

(PRWEB) September 3, 2005

In ramification of the century’s most devastating disaster ‘Tsunami’, various coordinated efforts are being made by the Governments of the affected countries with technical inputs from international organizational and institutional platforms, including UN, UNICEF, WHO, WFP and several other agencies.

Amongst other institutions, Helen Keller Intl. and Sir Aurangzeb Intl. are the two, which are principally focusing upon the likelihood of different types of physical and mental disabilities in Tsunami affected areas.

Several fact-finding surveys have been conducted during the last 8 months of the aftermath of Tsunami, however the credit goes to an independent Pakistani researcher for conducting the ‘First’ Epidemiological fact-finding and need analysis survey for the likelihood of different types of abnormalities in newly born and unborn babies.[1]

The survey, known as the Tsunami ‘Child Retardation Risk Assessment’ [CRRA] was primarily devised to detect, examine and gauge the risk of child retardation in the children below 5 years as well as in the unborn babies, in the post disaster situation. It also covered the essential analysis of drinking water and its contaminations, after the crucially poisonous water being absorbed by the soil.[2]

All of the research work during CRRA & CRRM, which, actually requires a number of institutional superfluity, has been executed almost single-handedly by the splendid researcher of Pakistan.

Pof. Dr. Aurangzeb Hafi is the first South Asian, whose name has been inscribed in the Roll of Honor in The Sovereign Royal Order of The Knights of Peace and Justice, and has been honored and knighted in the category of 'de jure'.[3] He was also one of the six researchers short-listed out of 1376 scientists belonging to 900 universities of 60 countries, and was declared as Man of the Year in Interdisciplinary Sciences.[4]

On completion of the first epidemiological survey, Dr. Hafi has given an alert alarm for a vulnerable risk increase of child retardation in newly-born and unborn babies. He has emphasized upon the need of immediate action to be taken by the World Health Organization and UNICEF for this specific issue.[5]

To bring the situation under control, some special immune enhancing and nutritional supplements should be developed and should be exclusively formulated, by focusing upon, and according to the specified needs of the post disaster situation, he mentioned.

The findings of [CRRA] survey along with the elucidated suggestions made by the researcher, have been made available to conscientious international agencies for further actions to be taken upon. The TsunamiÂ’s CRRA Survey has provided a core nucleus, on which response coordination can be built. It has provided important and major issues to be raised up and dealt with.[6]

On humanitarian basis, he is willing to extend his services voluntarily, and ready to cooperate with governmental and non governmental organizations to help the victims of Tsunami, he added.[7]

Dr Hafi told that the extensive research project was a joint venture of two non governmental platforms namely MAVSO Intl. and English Biscuit Manufacturers ( Pvt ) Limited of Pakistan as a contribution from Pakistanis, for the Tsunami victims. EBM is bearing all of his expenses of lodging-boarding and air-traveling, while MAVSO Intl. is responsible for the instrumentations and equipmentations regarding the project, he told.

To a question, he said that he is rendering his research services merely on humanitarian basis and not paid by any local or international agency.

The officials of CSGU have reportedly confirmed that he has also voluntarily declined the remunerations for his services, offered by Sri Lanka, saying that the money of his wages should be spent upon poor retardad children of the Tsunami camps.

“All services rendered by me should be considered as a sympathetic and humanitarian ‘token’ from my country…Pakistan, and not only from my own individual self “, stated the task executer researcher Prof. Aurangzeb Hafi.

Prof. Hafi has designed a well-practicable program to address the impeded setback of the specific matter.

Now a days he is on board to embark upon tracking the next phase of his project, i. e. Tsunami ‘Child Retardation Risk Management’ [CRRM]. In this phase of the project, he has also planned to provide the maximum possible quantity of the recommended nutritional supplements in Aceh, Sumatra, and Sri Lanka in an earliest possible timeframe and seeks for philanthropic help by local, regional and international institutions, donors and organizational platforms.[7]

The esteemed contributions of The Tsunami 'Child Retardation Risk Assessment & Management' Projects have fetched a prudently benevolent laurel, with a justly respectable visibility of Pakistan at an international echelon.

Reverse the Aging Process 10-20 Years with Full Spectrum Oral Spray HGH!

LAFAYETTE, CA – February 28, 2002: Market-Ability announces its brand new product Full Spectrum Oral Spray HGH.

Full Spectrum Oral Spray HGH:

Growth Hormone, or GH, is the most exciting anti-aging breakthrough ever! According to medical research, GH offers a wide variety of anti-aging benefits and is excellent for everyone over 25 years of age.

GH levels decline as we age. Because GH regulates almost every hormone in the body, reestablishing normal levels can result in enormous health benefits, including: reduced body fat, increased energy and libido, improved sleep, elevated mood, a stronger immune system and accelerated healing. It also regulates blood pressure and cholesterol levels and improves hair, skin and nails.

GH is considered the "smart" hormone because it systematically repairs or rejuvenates the part of your system most in need of help. Some people notice immediate, dramatic results while others experience more subtle benefits. Now you can actually "reverse the aging process" 10-20 years— in only a few months of usage.

Most GH formulas cost anywhere from $85- $125 for just one product. But Full Spectrum Oral Spray HGH is actually FOUR anti-aging products— all in one low-priced formulation. It includes Growth Hormone (GH), Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) which may be even more effective than GH, Insulin-like Growth Factors (IGF-1, IGF-2) and the revolutionary Enhancer, which helps clear receptor sites— allowing for greater absorption of GH, GHRH, IGF-1 and many other nutrients you may be taking.

Full Spectrum is the most potent and effective GH oral spray product available today. It is the only formula to date that uses GHRH along with GH, plus a full spectrum of ingredients to increase and improve the cycle of GH production.

Full Spectrum is manufactured in an FDA-certified lab. This product meets, and often exceeds, FDA guidelines and regulations. It is tested for purity both before and after manufacturing.

Instant Libido Spray:

In The Mood, "Instant Libido Spray", combines the wisdom of the East with the science and technology of the West. In The Mood was designed specifically to quickly restore, renew and revitalize libido in both men and women. It was formulated in the tradition of Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, with careful consideration to each herb, its energetic role and therapeutic effect. In The Mood provides immediate support for both men and womenÂ’s natural endurance, performance, sensitivity and libido functions.

In The Mood utilizes a sublingual spray delivery for immediate absorption. Its delicious chocolate flavor is preserved with natural ingredients. Principle ingredients (Kava Kava, Yohimbe, Panax Ginseng and Epimedium) used in In The Mood produce an unparalleled formulation— and immediate results! Wherever... whenever... it’s the natural, instant way to get men and women In The Mood!

The product showcase presentation will be held on Monday March 4, 2002 at 990 Moraga Road, Suite C, Lafayette CA 94549. Call for times and reservation. Management Consultancy Careers Fair Launch Proves Hugely Successful As Demand Far Outstrips Supply

Management Consultancy Careers Fair Launch Proves Hugely Successful As Demand Far Outstrips Supply

Many of the world's leading brands are preparing for Europe's largest management consultancy careers fair, as the industry battles the dual challenges of rebounding client demand and rising staff attrition rates.

London, England (PRWEB) September 21, 2005

When you hire one of the UK’s largest exhibition venues for your first major careers fair it says a lot about the healthy state of recruitment in your industry. When you find yourself turning away recruiters because the Careers Fair is already going to be packed to capacity with exhibitors – that’s when you know for sure your hunch was right.

Such has been the experience of Top-Consultant. com, whose first major careers fair for management consultants has attracted a global client list including Accenture, Arthur D. Little, Capgemini, IBM Business Consulting - and a prestigious event partner in the shape of the Management Consultancies Association. With many consultancies having been turned away with the event now fully booked, candidates are being urged to act quickly if they are to avoid the same fate come 7th October.

“In the last fortnight alone we have turned away nearly a dozen firms who wanted to be exhibitors at this year’s fair,” commented a Top-Consultant representative. “With so many great brands already attending, there simply wasn’t any space left to accommodate additional exhibitors. Now our main concern is to ensure that would-be attendees do not find themselves turned away from the event too, as we are fast approaching our capacity limits for attendees as well.”

The organizers had envisaged allowing readers both to pre-register for the event or to simply turn up on the day to meet the World’s top consulting firms. But registrations are running at such a high level that organizers will no longer be accepting registrations on the day: “We do not want to find ourselves in a position where we have to turn people away on the day because we have reached the venue’s capacity limits. Already more than 4/5 of the available visitor passes have been reserved and so we have decided not to allow registrations on the day to avoid disappointment. The message we are putting out is clear – if you want to be there on 7th October you absolutely must register in advance!”

The run away success of the October 7th careers fair speaks volumes about the rebound in the management consulting sector. Of course consulting firms all stand and fall on the caliber of their staff – and talent shortages are invariably the biggest constraint on growth. With many consultancies looking to make hires equivalent to 25-30% of their headcount in the next 12 months, the need to broaden recruitment initiatives beyond run of the mill advertising campaigns was clear. With this backdrop, perhaps it is little surprise the Management Consultancy Careers Fair has proven so popular. The organizers are now deciding whether to make the event an annual or bi-annual fixture in the recruitment calendar. A final decision will be taken after the 7th October event has taken place and exhibitor feedback has been assessed.

Analysis of the Proposed Health Care Legislation Finds Financial Aspects May be Difficult to Forecast

Analysis of the Proposed Health Care Legislation Finds Financial Aspects May be Difficult to Forecast

Eric Gurr, president and CEO of U4prez. com has done a summary analysis of the health care plan currently under consideration in Congress. After pouring through the entire document, he finds that while many of the objections to the plan are simply not true (There is no coverage for illegal aliens, and the parental education is largely voluntary, and driven at the state level not the federal level) there is still serious concern on the financial side.

West Chester, OH (PRWEB) August 13, 2009

Eric Gurr, president and CEO of U4prez. com has done a summary analysis of the health care plan currently under consideration in Congress. After pouring through the entire document, he finds that while many of the objections to the plan are simply not true (There is no coverage for illegal aliens, and the parental education is largely voluntary, and driven at the state level not the federal level) there is still serious concern on the financial side.

Gurr's analysis is presented from a business perspective, as opposed to government, and he finds a few glaring omissions in a plan as complex as HR 3200. The analysis offers a more holistic approach (addressing the plan in its entirety as opposed to small components which may be amended).

The most obvious of the omissions are of course a fall-back position should costs far exceed estimates and a pilot program for the entire plan. Gurr makes the case that Congress, The White House, and the CBO would all find it impossible to accurately forecast a realistic price tag without a comprehensive test. Short of more accurate financial data, a fall-back option based on specific spending bench-marks would seem to be an absolute requirement.

Gurr cites several examples from the bill which clearly indicate that not enough time has been devoted to behavioral changes which will affect cost. An excerpt is provided below.

SEC. 223. PAYMENT RATES FOR ITEMS AND SERVICES.

(1) IN GENERAL - The Secretary shall establish payment rates for the public health insurance option for services and health care providers consistent with this section and may change such payment rates in accordance with section 224.

"As you can clearly see from this small sampling, no one has any idea how much all of this is going to cost. This is addressed by giving the secretary almost unlimited power to set prices. Of course this is one of the biggest mistakes politicians make when coming up with a big spending plan. It's easy to set a price, but much more difficult to control the cost.

Having established that the cost of the care is completely unknown, we now turn to an even bigger problem; the financing of this plan has very little flexibility, and there is no accounting for the change in behavior which will take place after implementation."

The analysis also points out that the penalties and fees on businesses that do not offer insurance, may not be enough to cover the cost of employees who lose coverage, thus creating a spiral effect of ever increasing costs. Furthering the spiral an increase of these fees will put further strain on the manufacturing segment, forcing some to close the doors and aggravating the problem by lowering the tax base.

The entire brief can be viewed here; Brief summary analysis of health care reform bill. (http://www. u4prez. com//Blogs/ericgurr/A-brief-summary-of-a-rather-exhaustive-analysis-of-the-house-health-care-bill. html)

Information on Tax Assistance Programs Available at NJ 211 -- Residents Calling in Record Numbers

Information on Tax Assistance Programs Available at NJ 211 -- Residents Calling in Record Numbers

NJ 211 Call Centers have seen a 600% increase in inquiries pertaining to tax related savings including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) program and other cost saving measures available to senior citizens and military families. The NJ 211 website, www. nj211.org, devotes an entire page to tax related services and provides useful links to readers who want to learn more about these programs, find Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site locations, or print a coupon from H&R Block that will entitle qualified taxpayers to a discount for services. NJ 211 is dedicated to increasing efficient use of government services by educating the public about available programs and services.

Paramus, NJ (PRWEB) April 5, 2008

This year there's been a 600% increase in the number of tax-related calls to 2-1-1, the free, statewide service that puts people in need of assistance in touch with the government, social services and community resources that provide solutions. "I had sensed that we had a lot more calls related to tax preparation assistance and the Earned Income Tax Credit," said Barbara Gallagher, Director of Call Center Operations for the NJ211 Partnership, "but I was astounded to see how substantial the increase really was."

Resource specialists have been assisting clients by providing them with information on tax credits that are available to families earning less than $39,783, as well as tax assistance that was specifically designed to help military families and senior citizens. They have also been providing callers with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site locations for free tax preparation.

Although New Jersey is the second wealthiest state in the nation, one-in-five residents fall below the poverty line, as cited in a recent joint study published by the Rutgers University Center of Women and Work and New Jersey Policy Perspective. This reflects a 16% increase over findings from a similar study in 2000.

"We're very mindful of how many people in our state are looking for ways to make ends meet," says Tom Toronto, chairman of the NJ211 Partnership. "The most frequently expressed needs by callers to 2-1-1 pertain to food and shelter, but it all comes back to a need for more income." By providing 2-1-1 clients with information about the Earned Income Tax Credit and giving them details about the VITA locations closest to them, 2-1-1 is equipping people with the tools they need to take advantage of state and federal resources that will ease their financial burden and encourage self-sufficiency.

A family earning less than $39,783 could be eligible for a federal tax refund of as much as $4,716 and a NJ state refund of $943 thanks to the EITC program, but they must file a tax return. Eligible residents can call 2-1-1 or go to www. nj211.org to find out where the nearest VITA site is located. Sites are staffed with trained volunteers who will provide free assistance in the filing of tax returns.

H&R Block has also joined in the effort by offering discount coupons that eligible taxpayers can use if they choose to avail themselves of this service. Coupons can be downloaded at the 2-1-1 Web site and are available at any one of the 373 VITA sites throughout New Jersey, local public libraries and municipal boards of social service.

About NJ 211
2-1-1 is a system of support, using inbound calls as well as a Web site (www. nj211.org) with Instant Messaging capability, that is intended to provide free, personal assistance to anyone trying to navigate their way through the vast network of health and human services, government assistance programs and local community resources in New Jersey. 2-1-1 is aimed at lessening the burden of callers by providing understanding and compassion along with the information that is needed to address the caller's concerns. This confidential service is supported by United Way in partnership with the State of New Jersey -- Department of Human Services and the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.

Service and Support Key to Millward Brown's Selection of Halogen Employee Performance Management Solutions

Service and Support Key to Millward Brown's Selection of Halogen Employee Performance Management Solutions

Global research company to use Halogen eAppraisal™ and Halogen e360™ to establish consistent multi-rater/self-appraisal processes.

Ottawa (PRWEB) April 5, 2006

Leading global marketing research agency Millward Brown has chosen Halogen Software Inc., a leading provider of Web-based employee performance management (EPM) solutions, to begin the first phase of seamlessly employing high-quality employee 360 assessments and employee appraisals in 75 offices across 43 countries.

Prior to choosing Halogen’s award-winning solutions, Millward Brown, one of the world’s leading research companies, had been using several incompatible feedback and appraisal systems, both automated and paper-based. This incompatibility made it impossible to assure a consistent level of quality across the board and made it difficult to track who had received appraisals. Appraisals ranged from a structured process to a talk over coffee depending on where they were performed.

“Halogen’s service gives us the added confidence that it is the solution we are looking for,” said Elaine Holland, Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources at Millward Brown. “With their support and expertise, we designed a process that gives us the flexibility to capture our core competencies and still allow for enough flexibility for customization based on regional business drivers. The solution allows us to stay on top of the whole process every step of the way.”

It was a labor and resource intensive exercise to determine the status of appraisals from office to office and country to country using Millward Brown’s previous collection of appraisal systems. Now, with Halogen e360, they can monitor the status of all 360-feedback processes as well as completion statistics in real time. This ability allows for processes to be run smoothly and ensures more evaluations are completed on schedule.

“Millward Brown has emerged as a global leader in marketing research,” said Paul Loucks, President of Halogen Software. “We will be there to support their continued growth, just as we support every customer, by making sure they maximize the potential benefits of our EPM solutions. We have dedicated our resources to supporting customers through every stage of implementation.”

Biocoat and Agion to Develop and Co-market Coatings for Medical Devices

Biocoat and Agion to Develop and Co-market Coatings for Medical Devices.

Biocoat, Inc., maker of lubricious HYDAK® hydrophilic coatings, and Agion Technologies, the worldwide leader in natural silver-based antimicrobial solutions, today announced a co-marketing agreement to develop and promote a coatings product line featuring Agion's antimicrobial protection for medical devices.

Horsham, PA (PRWEB) April 4, 2009

Biocoat, Inc., maker of lubricious HYDAK® hydrophilic coatings, and Agion Technologies, the worldwide leader in natural silver-based antimicrobial solutions, today announced a co-marketing agreement to develop and promote a coatings product line featuring Agion's antimicrobial protection for medical devices.

This agreement utilizes technology co-owned and patented by Agion and Biocoat for hyaluronan coatings that incorporate silver-based antimicrobial properties. Coatings that take advantage of this synergistic combination of non-thrombogenicity and antimicrobial properties are now available to device makers for immediate evaluation in their products.

"We believe that Agion's silver zeolite technology and the unique properties of coatings based on hyaluronic acid will be a major advance in medical coatings," said Djoerd Hoekstra, CEO of Biocoat. Dr. Josh Simon, Senior Product Manager for Coating Technologies adds, "This is an exciting development not only because it allows us to produce a lubricious coating with antimicrobial properties, but also because of the market timing and prospects for further development of advanced medical coatings."

"Medical devices that incorporate Agion's natural antimicrobial technology actively inhibit the growth of microbes on the device's surface for the life of the product," said Paul Ford, CEO of Agion Technologies. "This partnership will allow us to extend our antimicrobial protection to medical devices that choose Biocoat as their coatings provider."

Coatings that release silver are used on catheters, particularly central venous and urological catheters, where they have been shown to reduce the amount of microbes found on their surfaces. Recently, Medicare declared it will no longer reimburse hospitals for the treatment of some preventable conditions. This is a strong incentive for companies to develop antimicrobial protected devices for prophylactic and therapeutic use.

Biocoat's HYDAK product line of lubricious hydrophilic coatings are based on hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and has non-thrombogenic properties. The hyaluronic acid in the coating can be crosslinked or non-crosslinked on a surface to varying degrees in order to control durability in applications where abrasion may occur.

The cornerstone of Agion technology is silver, a naturally occurring and highly effective antimicrobial agent. Silver has long been known for its antimicrobial properties and Agion's zeolite carrier provides many benefits over other antimicrobials that are alcohol-, chlorine-, or ammonium-based. Silver is proven to be safe with no toxic affects on people, plants or animals. Agion technology operates at the surface of a product through the controlled release of silver ions
Which attack microbes and inhibit their growth in three different ways. They offer a variety of silver-based technologies to suit various manufacturing and product requirements.

About Biocoat, Inc.:
Biocoat, Inc., a leader in providing hydrophilic coating technology to medical device companies, is a privately-held corporation with administrative offices, manufacturing, and R&D labs in Horsham, PA. Biocoat develops practical applications of its technologies in partnership with established medical device companies, who license HYDAK and other coatings technologies from Biocoat.
