India's In-Vitro Diagnostics Market Double Digit Annual Growth Drove Stronger Adoption of Automation With Over 1,800 Automated Systems Detected in 2007

Clearstate's IVD Gateway Database in India provides insights on instrument installation and test consumption trends by tracking market changes and usage patterns quarterly.

Singapore (PRWEB) May 7, 2008

Following the successful launch of its South East Asia (SEA) usage database for In-vitro Diagnostics (IVD) in 2006, Clearstate has expanded its IVD Gateway Database coverage to one of the largest and most challenging market in the region, India.

India's large geography and non-homogeneous usage environment demand a large sampling of hospital and stand-alone laboratories to ensure a robust and well-represented analysis of the IVD market. The Gateway database screened over 5,000 labs and surveyed in detail over 800 of the highest test volume facilities in India. Clearstate also took an additional measure to increase the thoroughness of the survey input and sizing estimates through validation with major distributors and suppliers.

Similar to the SEA database, the India database details unit installation of diagnostics analyzers, the volume consumption of reagents and tests assays, and the penetration of key IVD brands by city, model and user segment.

However, according to Ms. Ivy Teh, Clearstate's Managing Director, "We have further improved our database offering by providing value-added interpretations of market insights and share analysis. Instead of just presenting data, we now provide analysis on test breakdown run on automated vs. semi-automated systems, we have average installation age of over 10 leading brands and models and where they are located to help clients determine where and when replacements are coming up."

Ms. Teh added that the improved database showed more technology adoptions and higher end automated equipment purchases in large lab facilities especially in the South and West regions of India. For instance, automated systems in Clinical Chemistry have grown to close to 1,800 units across India, that represents only 12 - 15% of total analyzers installed but nearly 50% of the total revenue, valued at approximately USD 35 - 40 million in 2007. Trends observed in the database also revealed that local players are gaining stronger market presence, with Transasia extending its market leadership over international players specifically in Clinical Chemistry and Hematology.

Other interesting insights extracted from India's IVD Gateway include:
Determine brand share and placements: Transasia's Erba Chem Series and Bayer's small RA Systems are the most placed Clinical Chemistry (CC) analyzers in all types of facilities. These analyzers act as back-up instruments in larger lab facilities. Bayer is pushing more of it Advia Systems that has seen a jump in installations in recent years while phasing out the old RA systems.

Assess opportunity by geography: South and West India have the highest demand for IVD tests relative to other regions in the country, representing over 60% of total IVD tests. The majority of tests are still centered around key urban cities, primarily Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata.

Lake Worth, FL (PRWEB) November 26, 2007

More than 76 million baby boomers are facing the daunting reality of retirement and other reminders of growing older. For some this is quite depressing, since their expectations about what lies ahead may lack the bright promise they once took for granted in their youth.

Amy Sherman, a licensed mental health counselor, has been focusing her time on working with boomers who are having personal issues too difficult to handle themselves. Through this work, she devised winning strategies that empower boomers to gain back their enthusiasm and to live their lives with genuine passion. These strategies are now available in an ebook entitled, Distress-Free Aging: A Boomer's Guide to Creating a Fulfilled and Purposeful Life.

Distress-Free Aging relates to all boomers who feel disillusioned, disappointed or just bummed out about the way their lives are going. With so many people dealing with aging parents, the Empty Nest Syndrome, health challenges, career changes, financial setbacks and their own inevitable ideas about growing older, Sherman has harnessed effective tools and techniques to make the journey easier and more productive. Distress-Free Aging focuses on 10 strategies that redirect and transform these challenging years into something meaningful.

"As a boomer myself, I felt the frustration and disappointment of living my life without the personal satisfaction of being fulfilled. I had to redefine who I was so I could move beyond my comfort zone to create my exciting future," says Sherman.

"This guidebook offers inspiring answers to some difficult and consuming problems," she explains. It looks at how self-defeating attitudes sabotage the best intentions. It examines how to take back control when things seem chaotic. It shows how reaching for clear and concise goals give direction and purpose. Through determination, dedication and a commitment to succeed, Distress-Free Aging helps turn setbacks into amazing possibilities."

Sherman feels very passionate about the strategies she presents. She is living proof that they work, since she was able to overcome serious health problems during pregnancy, utilizing these same concepts. She believes that the energy you devote to identifying what you want creates the behavior to make it happen and that possibilities are limitless. "I found that several specific techniques uncovered my personal strength from within, which enabled me to change the direction of my life and heal my body," she notes.

Donald Spector, Chairman of Innovation Fund, Announces Stuffed Animals May Become Endangered Species

Donald Spector, Chairman of Innovation Fund, Announces Stuffed Animals May Become Endangered Species

Donald Spector, Chairman of Innovation Fund (www. innfund. com), announces a revolution in the doll and plush markets. For over ten years the company has been developing products to deal with the ever growing problem of shipping plush. "With the high costs of energy and limited space in stores, large plush (stuffed) animals are soon to hit the 'endangered species list'," say Spector. There are also problems with keeping these products clean at the retail level.

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 3, 2006

Donald Spector, Chairman of Innovation Fund (www. innfund. com), announces a revolution in the doll and plush markets. For over ten years the company has been developing products to deal with the ever growing problem of shipping plush. "With the high costs of energy and limited space in stores, large plush (stuffed) animals are soon to hit the 'endangered species list'," say Spector. There are also problems with keeping these products clean at the retail level.

Working with Nottingham-Spirk Design Associates the two companies, which have over 30 billion dollars in consumer products on the market, are introducing a line of Children’s Books that have the characters in the story "Pop Out" of the back of the book.

While the publishing industry is in trouble this represents a back to basics line that is wholesome fun and educational at the same time. Whether you are buying the product for the book or the story, the value of having a character emerge from the inside is going to be sensational and books are going to be fun.

Spector sees a line of books for Disney in the future. A book can be about "My Trip to DisneyWorld” and from the back cover a 20" plush figure pops out of the book! The technology is a major advance. The product looks and feels like a regular stuffed character but it can be compressed and recompressed continuously. It is like a Jack in the Box, except it comes out of the box and feels like a plush animal, not like a batch of springs. This is a perfect vehicle to re-issue many of the classics stories, including seasonal product. "We see this as a staple. Like Golden Books, only with a value added. We see it at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Wal-Mart, and K Mart. We hope it will be the new must have," says Spector.

Retailers, publishers and marketing companies have shown great interest and the product will be launched in the first quarter of 2007, but there is a chance it might be some test markets for the 2006 holiday season.

Donald Spector is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of New York College of Health Professions (www. nycollege. edu), which will be launching a line of educational textbooks later this year.

The first book in that series will be a book on success co-authored by Senator Michael Balboni and Barbara E. Carver. That book, which explains a new, unique molecular model of social interaction, will also be embodied with new technology.

"The book industry has not kept pace with the times," explains Spector. "While special books like those from Leapfrog introduce electronics, the "Pop Out" books contain technology but are still warm and fuzzy. The technology for textbooks that will be introduced in the College’s line of books will simply blow the lid off of what we call books and provide a seamless interaction between books and computers."

"When I first started exploring the book business I couldn't believe the small quantity of each publication. It becomes a self fulfilling prophesy where there is not enough money for marketing or advertising. We believe our entry into the market with powerful partners will change the industry and hopefully get kids interested in books again," Spector stated.

Mary Rodas, who worked with Donald Spector on many of his early inventions, was Co - Chairperson of the March of Dimes Reading Champions Program with Barbara Bush. "These products," says Mary "will knock people’s socks off!"

What You Eat in Private Shows in Public - An Unlikely Tool that May Get You Ready in Time for Summer

What You Eat in Private Shows in Public - An Unlikely Tool that May Get You Ready in Time for Summer

Why sacrifice our frozen treats? A new low calorie frozen dessert product called Arctic Zero is available right in time for summer. With only 136 calories per pint, fat free, and packed with 20 grams of the highest quality whey protein concentrate, it should help in streamlining your waist as well as feeding your muscles.

Temecula, CA (Vocus) May 2, 2009

With the summer season approaching it may be time to test out that swimsuit. Will it be another summer of hiding at home with the curtains and blinds drawn, or perhaps will this be the year you turn heads? Whether you’ve simply been sneaking food this past year or are simply looking to play catch-up before summer, there might be a solution. A new frozen dessert product called Arctic Zero is looking to fill the void between a positive body image and the price paid to get it. With impending beach trips, BBQ's and tanning poolside with friends, and significant others this season; Arctic Zero seems to be a cool summer breeze in the right direction.

An ice cream alternative with 136 calories per pint, fat-free, and in essence appears to be guilt-free. “It’s time to make sure your metabolism is in high gear for summer. Working-out is only part of the equation, it truly matters what is consumed,” says Arctic Zero co-founder Greg Holtman. With the right tools it’s more than possible to shed a few pounds, trim a couple of inches, and tone your muscles. “Arctic Zero is in its own category, it’s not ice cream; it’s both good and good for you,” Garrett Blood co-founder of Arctic Zero. The founders can often recall leaving the gym after a workout and wishing there was something in the freezer aisle that would not erase the 60 minutes just spent running on the treadmill. Garrett Blood stated, “There is nothing worse than a few bites of ice cream to be back at square one; - we wanted to create a low calorie (http://www. myarcticzero. com) product that could be eaten in its entirety without guilt. Try doing that with the products you can find on the shelf; this is why we find ourselves with an obesity problem in the country.”

Since 2002, California Soft Serve Concepts has been designing high protein low calorie products such as Arctic Zero and their highly successful soft serve brand Carbawhey for health conscious consumers.

For additional information on the news that is the subject of this release, contact Garrett Blood or visit www. myarcticzero. com for further contact and location information.

Mellow Monk Releases Two New Green Teas--"Blissful Buds" and "Shaded Leaf"

Mellow Monk Releases Two New Green Teas--"Blissful Buds" and "Shaded Leaf"

Mellow Monk®, purveyor of family farm-grown eco-friendly Japanese green tea, announces two new green teas: Blissful Buds™ (a "mecha" or bud tea) and Shaded Leaf™ (a "kabusecha" or shade-grown premium tea).

Livermore, California (PRWEB) November 15, 2008

Mellow Monk® is proud to announce two new additions to its lineup of family-farm green tea: Blissful Buds™ and Shaded Leaf™.

Blissful Buds™ is a mecha ("bud tea"), made from only the most tender young buds. This is the same kind of premium tea served at the best sushi restaurants. The full-bodied flavor of Blissful Buds™ makes it the perfect tea for post-meal palate cleansing... or for any time of the day.

Shaded Leaf™ is Mellow Monk's most premium tea ever: Three weeks before harvest, our growers shade these pampered tea plants with special woven covers. By blocking out just enough sunlight, this shading produces a simply exquisite flavor (by stopping the leaves from "baking" in the sun) and also stimulates the leaves to produce even more super-healthful catechins, including EGCG.

These two new teas were discovered during a recent tea-buying trip to rural Kyushu, the southernmost of Japan's four main islands. This expedition was documented by a film crew from Europe's Arte. tv network, which will release a 1-hour feature in January 2009 titled "Kyushu--Wo Japans Grüner Tee Wächst" (Kyushu--Where Japan Grows Its Tea).

Like the rest of Mellow Monk's lineup, both Blissful Buds™ and Shaded Leaf™ are single-estate, unblended teas imported directly from family farms on Kyushu. These farms are family owned and operated: The growers own the land they work, and they work the land themselves. All of Mellow Monk's growers are certified eco-friendly under the Japanese government's Eco Farmer Program.

Carolina Regional Cancer Center Installs Superficial Unit

Carolina Regional Cancer Center Installs Superficial Unit

Carolina Regional Cancer Center (CRCC) announces the installation and commissioning of a new superficial treatment machine for the treatment of skin cancers and Keloids.

Myrtle Beach, SC (PRWEB) February 1, 2006

Carolina Regional Cancer Center (CRCC) announces the installation and commissioning of a new superficial treatment machine for the treatment of skin cancers and Keloids. The machine replaces an older superficial machine previously decommissioned. The unit is a Gulmay D3100 100KV Superficial X-ray Therapy System. The machine is wall mounted and located in a shielded treatment room, which was completed with the building expansion in December of 2005.

Gulmay Medical is the world’s leading supplier of superficial x-ray therapy equipment. The D3100 model, introduced in late 2004, is approved by the FDA (510K No: K962613 refers). The unit appears similar to an x-ray arm located in a dental office. “The unit has numerous filters and treatment cones of various sizes to provide the optimal treatment dose and delivery as prescribed by the physician,” said Peter Hepburn, Chief Operating Officer. “The unique state of the art design ensures accurate reliable treatment delivery. Advanced electronics include many features that bring safety to both patient and operator.”

CRCC will immediately begin scheduling patients for treatment. “Superficial radiotherapy is highly effective in the treatment of basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas of the skin,” said Dr. Williams. “It is an excellent alternative to surgery which could be disfiguring. Advantages of superficial therapy over more conventional electron beam treatments include the ability to treat smaller margins and reduce the radiation dose to surrounding tissues. The Gulmay Therapy System allows quick and accurate set-ups, which is extremely beneficial for patient care. We look forward to providing this service to the people of Horry County and the surrounding area.”

“We also plan to utilize the superficial unit to treat Keloids, a benign skin disorder that responds well to low dose radiation,” added Dr. Goetowski. “The superficial room was specifically designed to provide a comfortable, patient friendly environment.”

CRCC welcomes referrals from local area physicians. Please call 843-449-9415 to schedule a consult regarding possible treatment.

For those looking on the Internet, beware of pet scams and review the tips below from the International Pet and Animal Transportation Association, the non-profit, worldwide trade association for professional pet shippers, before sending any money.

“First thing to consider is the fact that adopting a pet is forever, not just the holidays,” says IPATA President Sally Smith. “For those families who have found an animal over the Internet, be cautious. As a professional pet shipper, I have seen hundreds of scams and advise you to educate yourself on how scammers operate so you won’t be their next victim.”

Many scams begin with an advertisement – an adorable puppy or an exotic animal at half the cost. Once someone responds, most likely over e-mail, they will soon learn that the animal is located overseas. The scammer’s only request payment for the inexpensive shipping fees, usually by Western Union or MoneyGram, before the animal can be shipped. But additional costs will soon follow – extra shipping costs, customs clearance fees, vaccinations and insurance. Once the money is sent, the person learns there is no animal.

Scammers are luring pet lovers out of thousands of dollars with photos of cute animals, heart-breaking stories and irresistible prices. Sometimes it is difficult to determine if it is a scam, until it is too late. Here are some tips on identifying pet scams and how to purchase a pet safely:
Always insist that the seller enter into a formal contract. The document should detail the method of transportation, timeframe, the airline of carriage, all associated costs, and copy of the health certificate.

Check references. If the seller indicates that a specific company will handle the shipping, get complete details for the shipping company and then check them out! Use Google to research them and call them to confirm that they know the breeder.

Check affiliations. In order to convey authenticity, scammers may claim to be a member of the International Pet and Animal Transportation Association (IPATA). If this is the case, simply look up their company name in the IPATA member directory (visit http://www. ipata. com and click on “Find a Pet Shipper”). If they are not in the directory, they are not a member.

Insurance. Scammers will try to charge for “refundable insurance” in case the pet is lost or hurt during the trip overseas. As everyone knows, there are no refunds when it comes to insurance!

Most importantly – Be wary of sending funds by Western Union or MoneyGram! Scammers will say this is the most inexpensive and fastest way of doing business. Most reputable dealers will request that you wire transfer funds to their company bank account or will accept a credit card or PayPal payment. Families with pets must also know how to travel with their pets around the holidays.

“Your pet is an important member of your family and you want to make sure they have a safe, comfortable travel experience,” continues Smith. “Whether you are flying or driving, pets need to prepare for a trip just like a person does. They need a health certificate or passport, vaccinations and appropriate carriers to meet pet travel regulations. If you are traveling a long distance, a professional pet shipper can help with all the details to make your pet’s travel experience as stress-free as possible.”

HCG Diet Direct Announces Decrease in the Number of New Dieters who Previously Purchase HCG Injections

HCG Diet Direct Announces Decrease in the Number of New Dieters who Previously Purchase HCG Injections

HCG Diet Direct announces a decrease in the number of new homeopathic HCG dieters who previously purchase HCG injections.

Phoenix, AZ (Vocus) December 1, 2010

HCG Diet Direct announces a decrease in the number of new homeopathic HCG dieters who previously purchase HCG injections before turning to HCG Diet Direct's homeopathic HCG drops.

Dr. J. Ronald Willis, of HCG Diet Direct, said, "A year ago we were seeing a substantial number of new clients who had previously worked with injections before they turned to HCG Diet Direct. Most who previously purchase HCG injections state that they changed their HCG weight loss method due to cost. The number of individuals who state they've made a previous purchase of HCG injections has dropped drastically over the past year."

Reasons for the popularity of HCG Diet Direct brand homeopathic HCG includes:

1. More affordable in comparison to the cost to purchase HCG injections
2. Short term program offers drastic weight loss averages equal to injection based programs
3. Homeopathic HCG is more accessible: no prescription or doctor's visit requirements

The difference in immediate interest in comparison to last year is most likely due to the fact that word of mouth has spread the above information and more parties interested in drastic weight loss are aware of the potential results available through the HCG Diet Direct weight loss kit.

Homeopathic HCG weight loss formula is the basis for a fast weight loss plan that can be used to achieve drastic weight loss without invasive procedures and with no known HCG diet side effects. It is one of the most healthy fast weight loss plans. When dieters buy HCG they follow the included protocol. Oral HCG drops are taken three times daily and paired with a careful eating plan. The results of the standard 26-30 day program can provide an average of 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss per day.

Elgin, IL (PRWEB) September 13, 2006 -–

Zebra and cheetah patterned sheets, towels, throws and area rugs are hot this fall season. The African animal-inspired pillows of Haba Na Haba stylishly fit in and help a great cause, too. Haba Na Haba sells pillow covers that are silkscreened and embroidered Tanzanian cotton featuring contemporary designs based on traditional East African patterns and style, including a variety of zebra, cheetah, and giraffe patterns. Haba Na Haba’s products are primarily produced by small women-owned businesses in Tanzania that train young adult AIDS orphans sewing skills. Retail prices are $27.95 each and are available online at www. habanahaba. com.

Founded by Tanzanian Grace Ndunguru and American Beth Peterson, Haba Na Haba was created as a way to help young Tanzanian teens who often find themselves homeless and without hope for school, jobs or training. Haba Na Haba supports companies that offer training and jobs to these young adults in an effort to break the poverty cycle and provide a future for orphaned teens of whom would otherwise have little hope for a prosperous future. To qualify as a trading partner, these Tanzanian companies must pay fair wages and not hire children. Haba Na Haba also works with these Tanzanian companies in quality standards, design, and good business practices. A portion of profits also goes to support younger AIDS orphans education and health programs.

“By providing skill training, health education, and an opportunity to sell their goods, we hope to help these young adults learn a trade that will empower them to support themselves, break the poverty cycle and lead healthy and productive lives,” said Peterson.

Haba Na Haba will continually feature on their website new types and styles of Tanzanian products from like-minded manufacturers. In addition to supporting existing businesses with this business model, Haba Na Haba also directly trains young adults in trade and business skills and donates part of its profits to support other AIDS orphan and AIDS health programs in Tanzania.

About Haba Na Haba

Haba na haba, hujaza kibaba is a Swahili proverb that translates to “Little by little, fills the pot.” Haba Na Haba’s mission is to help empower at-risk young AIDS orphans, one by one, to learn trade skills in hopes of becoming self-supporting and lead healthy, productive and happy lives.

No. You Won't Find This Information Watching TV

No. You Won't Find This Information Watching TV

Mainstream media delivers information to the public audience according to certain parameters. If some information doesn't comply those requirements, it won't be broadcasted. This website offers important and unknown information to empower the reader.

(PRWEB) January 6, 2006

http://sapienssapiens. com (http://sapienssapiens. com) brings information unfiltered by culture, religion, preference, affinity or any other detectable filters.

First Green Revolution 10,000 years ago brought a new concept of living that we still enjoy and suffer (mostly suffer).

Mother Culture declares that before the adoption of Agricultural methods, human beings were mere beasts living absurd lifes in dark caves, brutes, stupids, fearsome and violents.

Latest scientific discoveries go in the opposite direction:

Paleolithic humans lived in small communities with strong internal cohesion and family and friendship ties. They didn't have grotesque social differences and lived in a cooperative way. They were well adapted to their environment and with small to none of the drawbacks currently assigned to.

They weren't the preferred menu for any carnivorous animal big or small. They didn't need to spend lots of time and effort to get their daily pittance - no more than 3 hours a day-

Even current hunter-gatherer tribes in marginal conditions and living in undesirable areas, outperform their agricultural neighbours when calories/time or calories_obtained/calories_spent ratios are checked (even more if they are compared with state of the art agricultural machinery based on cheap fossil fuel energy).

The change to the agricultural way of live changed all of that.

Suddently there was a territory to protect, a hard work to do: clearing, plowing, tilling,... Nowadays hunting and fishing are hobbies for the rich class, not a "In the sweat of your face..." kind of activity, in contrast to gardening without modern resources.

Current research reveals that the transition from hunting-gathering to growing our food, had a huge toll in every aspect of life, in health, happiness, suffering, ecology, richness/poverty, political power, authority, liberty, technology, suicidal tendencies, education, spiritual development, energy, etc.

The systematic adoption of agriculture to provide more and more the lion's part in human diet brought several consequences never seen before and with consequence in these days, the most important being:

The novelty of Food Reserves: Hunter-gatherer groups had no control on their food sources: game, fisheries, wild fruits, nuts, roots and vegetables, (with seasonality and periods of scarcity) were searched and mostly consumed on the spot.

The adoption of agriculture allowed the silage of grains and the increased amount of food available drove quickly to a population increment; to feed this new population, new land had to be cultivated, resulting in more reserves, and so on and on. This spiral marks the expansive nature of systematic agricultural groups submitting or absorbing the more stable population of hunter-gatherers.

This trend is still running, every year increasing the production of food and the human population, and this expansion is bringing chaos to Natural reservoirs and biological diversity.

Know the facts and learn that you aren't helpless. In this website the reader won't find the information "ready to digest".

A personal effort is required, some keywords are given to the visitor for research. Help is offered, but the initial reposibility is for the readerer to act like the webpage title:

"Take Your Life in Your Hands".

This page has been running and growing in the last months as a personal project, with the aim of learning the basics of web publishing and offering useful hard to find information.

Adaptive Marketing LLC Warns Parents: Police Your Home for Poisons

Adaptive Marketing LLC Warns Parents: Police Your Home for Poisons

Adaptive Marketing LLC acknowledges Poison Prevention Week, March 16 to 22, 2008.

Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) February 6, 2008

Poison Prevention Week is March 16-22, and while many families believe they understand the dangers, new parents, babysitters and doting grandparents may not be aware of the hidden dangers of common household products, reports Adaptive Marketing LLC (http://www. adaptivemarketing. com), an industry leader in membership and loyalty programs.

While toxic substances can poison anyone, children under the age of 6 and pets are the most common victims suffering injury or even death. Pets and young children are similar in that they are both naturally curious, cannot read warning labels, and are apt to explore the home environment by putting objects in their mouths.

For a toddler, orange-scented wood polish may look like orange juice; a bottle of pills might resemble candy.

Most consumers are aware, notes Adaptive Marketing LLC (http://www. adaptivemarketing. com/about_bp. asp), that household cleaners, over-the-counter and prescription medications, pesticides, lead paint, and certain plants top the list of potential poisonous substances, but here are several lesser-known dangers:

Art and craft materials:
Don't assume that the crayons, markers, oil paints or glue marketed to children are safe. The "smell" test is not a reliable indicator of toxicity. Best bet: Purchase craft materials for children or mentally handicapped adults that are certified as non-toxic by the Art & Craft Materials Institute (ACMI).

Decorative lamp oils:
The hydrocarbons contained in lamp oil (also found in kerosene, lighter fluid and paint thinner) can easily cause choking if swallowed. If it gets into the lungs, it can make breathing difficult or cause lung inflammation. Keep these lamps out of kids' reach, or better yet, don't have them in the home.

Nail glue remover:
The nail glue remover used for artificial nails can cause cyanide poisoning when swallowed by children, or cause burns to the face and mouth.

Vitamins and supplements:
Nutritional supplements that are perfectly safe for adults in normal doses can be toxic when ingested by young children. Adult-strength iron pills can cause children to throw up blood or have bloody diarrhea within an hour.

Adaptive Marketing LLC (http://www. adaptivemarketing. com/loyalty_overview. asp) provides additional preventative steps to take to reduce the chance of accidental home poisonings:

-- Keep all household cleaners, chemicals, pesticides and medicines locked up, out of sight and out of reach.
-- Keep items in their original containers with the original labels intact; understand correct use and dosing protocols.
-- When risky products are being used, never let young children out of sight, even for a minute.
-- Purchase syrup of Ipecac and keep it on hand, but never use it unless directed to by a poison center or physician.
-- Avoid taking medication in front of children, as children naturally mimic their parents.
-- Regularly dispose of unneeded or expired medicines.

If an accidental poisoning is suspected, call the Poison Control Center at 800-222-1222 immediately. Keep this number posted near the phone, recommends Adaptive Marketing LLC (http://ap9consumergateway. typepad. com/ap9_weblog/adaptive_marketing_articles/index. html).

Hamacher Resource Group Acquires The Caregivers Group

Strengthening HamacherÂ’s strategic mission of enhancing product flow from manufacturer to consumer

Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) October 2, 2005

Hamacher Resource Group, LLC announced today that it has acquired The Caregivers Group which includes The Caregivers Marketplace™ (TCM) and The Caregivers Advisory Panel® (TCAP®). The Caregivers Group is an innovative provider of growth strategies designed to help manufacturers, retailers and drug wholesalers understand and meet the needs of family caregivers, offering healthcare products and information that enable them to better care for their loved ones. The acquisition combines the capabilities of two leading innovators in the retail healthcare market and further strengthens Hamacher’s strategic mission of enhancing product flow from the manufacturer to the consumer. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

According to Hamacher president Dawn Vogelsang, “Bringing The Caregivers Marketplace and The Caregivers Advisory Panel into the Hamacher organization allows us to add vital resources for our customers and help them succeed in serving this growing and influential segment of the population. For the past 25 years the Hamacher name has been synonymous with effective retail management; the addition of The Caregivers Group to the company’s line-up is a well-timed and logical decision. This creates another exciting milestone in our company’s growth strategy.”

Caregivers co-founder, Paul Alper, will continue to lead the business development activities for the offering and serve as General Manager – Caregiver Research and Programs. The name of the services and the primary functions associated with The Caregivers Group offerings will remain unchanged; Alper will be based at Hamacher’s Milwaukee, Wisconsin headquarters. Hamacher vice president Dave Wendland commented, “Paul brings insight, experience, knowledge and passion along with this new addition to the Hamacher portfolio. His continued leadership will help ensure program continuity and add unique expertise and a new dynamic to Hamacher’s management team.”

“We have been searching for a strategic partner with a rich heritage and experience in the retail sector to help us achieve our vision – to create an effective, value-producing bridge from the manufacturer to the caregiver consumer,” said Alper. “I am personally thrilled to be joining forces with Hamacher. I look forward to enriching The Caregivers Group business development capabilities and in doing so, providing a critical set of benefits for America’s 44 million family caregivers who spend more than $54 billion a year on products and services not covered by insurance or Medicare,” he continued.

The acquisition enables Hamacher to offer healthcare manufacturers primary market research with TCAP, targeted marketing and promotion with TCM, along with focused business development consulting led by Alper. Adding the caregiver focus to Hamacher’s already strong service portfolio – which includes category management resources, strategic planning, marketing consulting and direct-to-pharmacy communication programs that generate improved distribution and shelf placement – allows Hamacher to be a premier resource for any manufacturer, retailer or wholesaler who wants to reach the caregiver consumer and enjoy a sustainable competitive advantage in the market.

Not Running the NYC Marathon? Burn the Same Calories at Your Desk

Not Running the NYC Marathon? Burn the Same Calories at Your Desk

Most Americans will not run the amount of time or distance of a New York City Marathon in a full calendar year, yet they can still burn an equivalent amount of calories in as little as two to three days using a device currently gaining traction in offices and homes across America: a treadmill desk.

Phoenix (Vocus) October 28, 2008

This coming weekend will witness more than 100,000 runners participating in one of the world's greatest races, the New York City Marathon. While elite athletes compete for world records and prize money it is estimated that the overall average running time of this event will be 4.75 hours. Most Americans will not run that amount of time or distance in a full calendar year yet they can still burn an equivalent amount of calories in as little as two to three days using a device currently gaining traction in offices and homes across America: a treadmill desk.

Treadmill desks have gained notoriety in the past year, however their cost has been a barrier for most workers, ranging in price from $4500-$6500. A company based in Phoenix, AZ, known as TrekDesk, offers a more economical solution for professionals who want to trade in the office chair and enhance their health. Available for sale in March 2009, TrekDesk is expected to retail for only $399.

"A 160 lb. marathon runner will burn approximately 3,400 calories completing the NYC marathon in the average time. An employee using a treadmill desk eight hours daily could walk the calorie burning equivalent of a a NYC Marathon (without breaking a sweat), in just two work days. It's a little like the Tortoise and Hare analogy here but it illustrates the effectiveness and power of daily walking. Most of us do not have the time to walk eight hours after work let alone train for a marathon but walking while working offers tremendous benefits in very short periods of time," states TrekDesk founder Steve Bordley.

Treadmill desks offer significant health benefits whether utilized all day or for just a few hours. The Surgeon General recommends a minimum of 10,000 steps a day for optimum health which can easily be achieved in just 3 hours with TrekDesk. More details on the significant health benefits of consistent daily walking, including excerpts of pertinent medical studies can be found at the TrekDesk website (http://www. trekdesk. com).

So, for the 305 million Americans that will not be running the NYC marathon this weekend, relax. Save your joints and consider a slower but realistically effective approach to health for the rest of us: a treadmill desk.

ABOUT TREKDESK: manufacturer of the first affordable full sized, adjustable workstation designed to fit an existing treadmill and allowing walking while working, weight loss without sweating and health enhancement.

Unusual Dance Studio Opening in Central Ohio

Unusual Dance Studio Opening in Central Ohio

New dance center opening in Central Ohio offering a unique creative dance as an exercise regime.

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) April 13, 2006

In today’s health and fitness conscious society, it is always good to know about different ways of getting ones exercise and cardiovascular workout. Studio 7 Creative Dance Center will be opening in Lancaster, Ohio in June and is offering just that.

What is Creative Dance? The creative dance at Studio 7 is called Solarhythmical™ Dance. This dance was founded by the instructor and owner of Studio 7, Leisa Coffman. Leisa developed the dance in 2003 but claims she has danced Solarhythmically™ since she was a child.

Leisa comments, “At a very young age, I began making up dance moves. Aside from dancing around the house all the time, also for fun I would make up comical dances and name them. Dances I called the “Barn Dog” and “The Ruby” were just a couple of those comical dances. This of course was often entertaining for the family. But on a serious side, I often found myself alone in my room or wherever dancing. I always felt it was uplifting to me, of course not realizing at the time that there was a science behind feeling better when I danced”.

Dancing was always natural for Leisa and before even taking any dance classes; she found she naturally knew dance moves of all types and cultures, ranging from ballet, modern dance to spanish and middle eastern style of dancing.

Solarhythmical™ Dance is not a routine dance. Movements are based on the sub-conscious mind and your intuitiveness. That is why mediation is part of this unique and beautiful dance. Leisa explains, “The dance is very creative and once the dance moves are taught, each individual person will interpret that movement uniquely."

Leisa believes that everybody can dance. She states, “Of course there are different levels of dancing, there is dancing for performance purposes then there is dancing for personal purposes. My goal is to bring awareness to the fact that dance is for everybody, not just for performers or for people who naturally can dance with ease. Our bodies were designed to react to music; each of our seven Chakras is affected by a note. That is why we want to move when we hear music. Even if it’s just a tapping of the foot or of the hand, your sub-conscious mind is trying to make you aware that you need to dance. So dancing is very good for you physically and mentally. Solarythmical ™ Dance will teach you how to listen to your sub-conscious mind regarding your body movements. This dance is something you can do for performance or simply in the privacy of your own home as an exercise regime.”

Leisa says people of all ages can dance Solarhythmically™. She has taught ages ranging from early 20’s to late 60’s. Leisa says that after dancing for about four weeks, (at least three 20 minute sessions per week) you will notice your body toning. The first thing you will notice is arms, thighs, stomach area being more toned. Those with cellulite problems may notice decreased cellulite. Leisa claims that this is not only because of the physical stimulation but also because of the chakra meditation that is involved in preparation prior to dancing.

Leisa is also looking to develop a dance company from those students who want to perform the dance. She is also in the process of writing a book that will be packaged with an instructional DVD.

The name Studio 7 is named after the divine number seven. Leisa says, “The number seven is a divine number with many patterns to life and creation, but is also a very personal number to me. All my children have a connection with the number seven as well as myself. So that is why I named the center Studio 7."

Besides teaching dance, Leisa is the Director of Marketing for an entertainment company based out of Cleveland. The company publishes books and produces independent films as well as other entertainment entities. “The Derby Stallion” starring Disney’s rising star Zac Efron and veteran actors Bill Cobbs and William R. Moses, is the latest movie that was produced by the company.

The Grand Opening of Studio 7 is June 2nd from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the studio location, 117 W. Main St., Suite 177, in Lancaster. (Numerology break down of this date is 7.) Hors d'oeuvres and free giveaways and hand-out information will be available as well as the opportunity to meet and speak with Leisa.

To learn more about Studio 7 Creative Dance Center or to register for classes online go to http://www.7dance. com (http://www.7dance. com) or you may contact Leisa Coffman at (740) 756-7650.

Entity Resolution Software Delivers Solutions Faster; Identity Resolution Engine 2.2 Interface Reduces Time to Search Data, Discover Relationships, Automate Decisions, and Manage Cases

Entity Resolution Software Delivers Solutions Faster; Identity Resolution Engine 2.2 Interface Reduces Time to Search Data, Discover Relationships, Automate Decisions, and Manage Cases

Infoglide Software Corporation announced availability of a new version of its Identity Resolution Engine that simplifies creation of solutions using new IRE Desktop and IRE Management Studio clients. IRE 2.2 interactive rich web clients enable end users to access the power of the engine more easily and reduce the time to solution deployment.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) July 15, 2009

Infoglide Software Corporation announced today that Version 2.2 of its Identity Resolution Engine™ (IRE) is now generally available. IRE 2.2 makes its powerful entity resolution capabilities easier to use by adding new IRE Desktop and IRE Management Studio rich web clients.

"IRE 2.2 makes the power of the Engine more accessible, resulting in less time to create and deploy a solution," said Ram Anantha, Infoglide's director of product management. "The new IRE Desktop application provides analysts, investigators, and integrators a superior, tailored experience to access the engine's full power. Additionally, there have been significant improvements to the IRE's core functionality, such as enhanced matching algorithms, additional search and retrieval strategies, and more powerful customization features, resulting in a better quality solution."

The new release addresses enterprise-level challenges by supplying the needed scalability and performance to manage high volumes of data and maximize efficiency. It improves business decisions by utilizing customizable rules that apply business logic to current, incoming data as well as search results. By providing an easily deployable software engine that is highly configurable, tunable, and adaptable, it evolves with organizational needs while also minimizing resources needed by returning automated, accurate results.

New features in IRE 2.2 have set a new standard for IRE's ease of use and flexibility. Screenshots, demonstrations, and more information about IRE 2.2 are available at http://www. identityresolutionengine. com (http://www. identityresolutionengine. com).

IRE Desktop
The rich client environment of IRE 2.2 includes an interactive desktop application that provides the flexibility to move from one function to another in a convenient-to-administer web browser model.

IRE Desktop simplifies searching data, discovering hidden relationships, and automating decision-making processes. It also enables users to create, build, and adjudicate cases based on discovered information.

The application can be readily configured to meet the specific business needs of an organization. Tabular search forms and similarity search results are both configurable to enable customization of solutions without the need for additional programming.

Productivity features include a new Favorites functionality that increases efficiency by saving favorite cases, decision criteria, search results, discovery results, and other entities. Alternatives for accessing key functions let the user choose the most productive way to build identity resolution solutions, and personalization settings give users other choices in the appearance of the desktop. Cases can be automatically or manually generated using the lightweight case management feature, and custom business processes established to manage the cases.

IRE Management Studio
Mirroring IRE Desktop's ease of deployment, IRE Management Studio enables administrators to manage configurations through a rich, integrated development environment hosted in their web browser.

The IRE Management Studio allows users to create new configurations and review and modify existing ones. It creates a productive environment for managing IRE, including test scenarios and debugging sessions.

In the January 15 edition of TWDI Newsletter, Jill Dyché of Baseline Consulting predicted that in 2009 "identity resolution will get its due… companies are recognizing that they may have unique customer data-matching needs… and they'll be looking at smarter, more specialized ways to automate them." IRE 2.2 makes it easier than ever to rapidly deploy a powerful entity resolution solution that delivers value to end users. Its shorter time to a richer, tailored solution is unique in the industry.

Complex Therapy Regimen Affects Health of Millions

Complex Therapy Regimen Affects Health of Millions

New educational tools offer assistance to healthcare providers and patients

Madison, WI (PRWEB) October 31, 2010

Nausea, fatigue, pain in the upper back, neck or jaw, a burning pressure in the chest - these are all symptoms of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), or as most know it, a heart attack.

ACS makes up more than 1.5 million hospitalizations each year in the United States. It is estimated that 38% of those who suffer from an attack will not survive. And unfortunately, those who do survive are at a greater risk for another attack.

A heart attack occurs when blood flow to the heart stops due to a blockage in the arteries leading to the heart. These blockages are caused by clots made up of blood platelets. Platelets are beneficial by helping heal wounds, but too many platelets in the blood can be dangerous. Those who have heart disease risk factors including smoking, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, or diabetes, are at greater risk of developing a blood clot.

Antiplatelet therapy is now considered the first line of defense in avoiding a second heart attack due to a blood clot. Antiplatelet medications prevent blood clots from forming easily. Antiplatelet therapy typically consists of two medicines, aspirin and thienopyridines. Both of these medications reduce the formation of blood clots.

Millions of ACS patients are on antiplatelet therapy; however, studies show that 29% of Americans discontinue their medicines before it is safe to do so, 22% take less than prescribed, and 12% never have their prescriptions filled. The results can be devastating and may lead to worsening of ACS, increased mortality, and higher health-care costs. “Understanding the importance of antiplatelet medications and supporting compliance through education and follow-up is a critical role for nurses as they care for patients with heart disease, especially after ACS,” said Kathy Berra, MSN, ANP-C, FAHA, FPCNA, FAAN, Stanford Prevention Research Center, Stanford, CA.

There are many reasons why patients struggle with this drug therapy. They include the stress of having had a heart related event, not understanding the information they are provided about the medications, not having careful and regular follow-up, having memory challenges, and the cost of the medications.

In order to assist healthcare providers in prescribing and counseling their ACS patients, PCNA has developed a quick-reference laminated card for healthcare professionals containing the role of platelets in thrombotic events, site of actions of antithrombotic agents, how to reduce serious side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, and information about antiplatelet medications including indications, dosage, side effects, and potential interactions.

PCNA has also created a patient counseling tool which includes an overview of how and why antiplatelet medicines are prescribed, how to take medications, what to expect when taking these medications, what potential side effects to look for, and the importance of eating a heart healthy diet and tips for incorporating exercise every day.

Members of PCNA will receive a copy of the quick-reference laminated card and a tear-pad containing 50 patient education sheets by mail. Healthcare professionals may order 2 tear-pads for free by calling 1-866-620-6947. Please reference product ID 00002000710.

Visit http://www. pcna. net for information about other clinical and patient education tools available.
