Aussie Green Teens Create Own Beauty Brand -- Bellaboo

Aussie Green Teens Create Own Beauty Brand -- Bellaboo

Six teen girls from Australia have managed to balance school, studies and social life with helping to create a green skin care line for teenage girls. Bellaboo is all natural, recyclable and ticks all the must-haves when it comes to what teen girls want from a skin care range. Thanks to the teen girls who helped create it, Bellaboo is a company that dedicates equal energy to teen issues as it does to brand development and marketing.

Sydney, NSW (PRWEB) September 19, 2008

What do teen girls want when it comes to their skin? Green beauty is in and chemical-based products are so totally out, according to hot new teen beauty brand, Bellaboo (http://www. bellaboobabe. com/ (http://www. bellaboobabe. com/)).

Bellaboo is the creation of six teen girls, aged 15-19, known as the Bellaboo Crew, who have worked with mum-trepreneur, Snezna Kerekovic, to develop a skin care line that ticks all the boxes on a teen girl's beauty wish list.

Number 1 on the list -- teen girls are definitely into green. They want effective skin care but it must use natural and, where possible, organic ingredients. Teens are definitely savvy to the fact that they don't want to lather themselves in products based on chemicals. They want beauty products that are good for them and the earth.

Says Jess, 18, from the Bellaboo Crew: "I had really bad pimples and used everything under the sun. I found that many of the products I used burnt my skin, made it red and flaky and just made the problem worse. That started me thinking that this stuff can't be good for you. So, when there was a chance to help develop skin care for teen girls I jumped at the chance of having a say about what I felt was really important. Each and every girl on the Crew felt that using natural, gentle ingredients was the number one priority."

The Bellaboo Crew brainstormed, tested and trialled. The end result -- Bellaboo -- a simple 3 Step Natural Skin Care System designed to help teen girls adopt a healthy skin care regimen designed to balance, nourish and protect skin. And, as pimples are the bane of most teens' lives, they also created a super effective pimple serum that will blitz zits without causing harm or damage to the skin, plus a range of treatment masks based on yummy ingredients like chocolate, berries and a bounty of botanicals.

According to Bellaboo Founder, Snezna Kerekovic: "The girls have had a huge influence on shaping this brand. They have a say on everything -- the formulas, the packaging, our advertising and marketing. Not one decision is made without their input. This has been incredible as they are all so passionate about Bellaboo and it has been wonderful to see young girls get so involved.

"As a former beauty editor and mum, I knew that I wanted to create skin care that I would be happy for my own daughter to use. When I looked at what was out there, I couldn't think of a single brand I would recommend in terms of formulation or visual appeal. So, with the help of the Crew, we've come up with something that totally gets them. I've learnt a lot about teenagers along the way too, which will come in very handy when my own daughter hits her teens!"

Bellaboo's products are free of petrochemicals, parabens, mineral oils, animal-derived ingredients, artificial colours or fragrances. They are based on certified organic and natural ingredients and designed for teens by teens. Packaging is recyclable. http://www. bellaboobabe. com/shop (http://www. bellaboobabe. com/shop)

MA Holdings, Inc. Acquires M&S Fine Foods, Inc., Authentic Mexican, Inc. in a Share Exchange; Projects Growth, Profitability through Synergy

MA Holdings, Inc., a newly formed holding corporation, has acquired catalog/Internet marketer M&S Fine Foods, Inc., Charolottesville, Virginia and specialty foods manufacturer Authentic Mexican, Inc., Valley Cottage, New York, in a tax-free share exchange transaction. The operating units will continue as separate but complementary subsidiaries of the holding corporation.

Charlottesville, Virginia (PRWEB) December 16, 2009

MA Holdings, Inc., a newly formed holding corporation, has acquired catalog/Internet marketer M&S Fine Foods, Inc., Charolottesville, Virginia and specialty foods manufacturer Authentic Mexican, Inc., Valley Cottage, New York, in a tax-free share exchange transaction, it was announced jointly today by Bernard H. La Lone, Jr. and Frank Casciari, chairman of M&S and president of Authentic, respectively. The operating units will continue as separate but complementary subsidiaries of the holding corporation.

"Current economic conditions and the continuing unavailability of credit have negatively impacted many companies in the specialty foods business, but both M&S and Authentic Mexican have continued to pursue their programs and strategies aggressively," La Lone said. "Both have remained healthy, and all parties perceive the new relationship as one that enables each of the subsidiaries to build further on a fresh new set of strengths, joint marketing strategies and culinary capabilities.

On-line and catalog marketer M&S Fine Foods, Inc. commenced business in 2002, having acquired the assets of McArthur's Smokehouse, Inc. and Seyco Fine Foods, Inc. McArthur's began operations in Duchess County New York as a sausage-maker and has operated continuously for more than 133 years. Seyco Fine Foods originated in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1934 and is a direct marketer of products from a variety of vendors. In 2006 M&S executed an exclusive license with Phillips Foods Inc. to market via catalog and the Internet direct-to-consumer sales of Phillips frozen seafood products. In 2007 M&S purchased the catalog and e-commerce Impromptu Gourmet division from The Schwan Food Company. Product offerings for the company's brands can be viewed at www. FineFoodNow. com, www. crabcakes. com, and www. ImpromptuGourmet. com.

"M&S acquires a reliable and flexible new product source, while Authentic Mexican will be able to capitalize on direct marketing acumen, extended distribution opportunities and physical resources that will contribute to cost reductions and operating efficiencies. The synergies attained under MA Holdings represent a powerful new stepping-off place for both companies, including the establishment of a powerful base from which to procure additional capital."

Launched in the early 1990s, Authentic Mexican, Inc. is a manufacturer of all-natural, cooked, ready-to-eat gourmet quality foods that it markets under the Authentic Mexican and Authentico brands through distributors, national retailers and gourmet chains, internet and catalog retailers, and specialty stores. The company also private labels a variety of products for several national chains. Located in Valley Cottage, New York, Authentic is on track towards a year-on-year sales increase of more than 30 percent in 2010, according to Casciari.

"As a strong contender in the gourmet specialty food sector, Authentic provides M&S the opportunity to broaden its product offerings into a number of ethnic foods categories - Asian, Hispanic, and Italian, for example - many of which Authentico currently produces for other wholesale customers," he said. "Correspondingly, M&S' unique market footprint can alleviate Authentic's dependence on several large customers. Further synergy exists in the availability of M&S' managements culinary expertise, its warehouse and freezer facilities located in Roanoke, Virginia, and its favorable negotiated nationwide shipping rates."

Management
Deborah J. Collyer has been named president and CEO of MA Holdings, Inc. Management of the subsidiaries continues unchanged: at M&S Fine Foods, La Lone continues as chairman of the board; Ms. Collyer, president and CEO; Grant Bates, vice president of operations; and William D. Tucker III, Esq., Secretary. At Authentic Mexican, Frank Casciari remains president.

Vroom Vrrooom: 16th Annual Cameron Park Show & Shine / Fly-in Revs Up For a Great Show

VroomÂ… Vrrooom: 16th Annual Cameron Park Show & Shine / Fly-in Revs Up For a Great Show

Where can you find nearly 300 beautiful hot rods and planes in one place? At the 16th annual Cameron Park Show & Shine / Fly-in on Saturday October 1st.

Cameron Park, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2005

The Cameron Park Soroptimists are proud to be the new hosts of the 16th Annual Cameron Park Show & Shine / Fly-in on October 1st.

What?

The day kicks off with the traditional pancake breakfast hosted by and benefiting Young Life. Then off to view some cool cars.

You will find plenty of local vendors and booths for different organizations, with food, fun, prizes, and drawings throughout the day.

The Cameron Park Soroptimists have managed to get some interesting exhibits as well. Among them are the Flying Samaritans, Search & Rescue, Fire Dept., and the Airforce. There will also be plenty of local vendors showing off their goods and services.

At 2:00 make sure to find out if your favorite car or plane is a winner of the Best of Show! There are so many categories from classic to comical.

Where?

The Cameron Park Airpark is located at Cameron Park Drive and Oxford. Adults and kids alike always enjoy taking photos of the super-short street signs in this Airpark community. This community is unique in that the streets are wide enough for the airplanes, the signs are low so the wings don't hit them, and many homes boast "2 plane" garages.

Why?

Other than being just plain cool, this event is presented by the Cameron Park Soroptimists as a fundraiser for local youth programs. In the past, they have supported local projects such as:

Contributed to furnishing the Library in Cameron Park, made a major contribution to the new observatory being built in Placerville, provided a grant to Ponderosa High School to install electricity in the Agricultural Barn and horticultural Green house, provided "Baby think it over" to the local high schools for their life-skills classes, supported the California Flying Samaritans in their work in Mexico, provided grant funding to Dusty's Place, Scleroderma Research, and Lilliput Childrens.

Special thanks go out to our sponsors who helped make this event possible:

ElDoradoGuide. com, Cameron Park Health Foods, on a Limb, Gateways Healthcare, Pactiv Corporation, Cameron Park Florist, Sign and Banner Express, The Roving Bookie, Shape Shifters Body Wraps and More, A Better Healthways Chiropractic, Nancy Overman-Coldwell Banker, Old Republic Title Company, Guy Speake CPA, Costco Folsom, Ian Marshall Edward Jones, Gold Country True Value Hardware, Autotronics Automotive Repair, & El Dorado County New Car Dealer Assoc

The general public is admitted free. Car pre-registration for $20 is strongly urged. For details call Pam at 530-672-1960

'TV is Trash' Says Former Material Girl Madonna; 'Trash Your TV' Agrees Former Homeless Mother

'TV is Trash' Says Former Material Girl Madonna; 'Trash Your TV' Agrees Former Homeless Mother

When two such different moms of such divergent backgrounds agree, it is time to pay attention. Madonna and Ms. Westphal have both realized something important: Children do better without a TV.

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) October 24, 2005

Madonna raised some eyebrows with her recent interview when she claimed that she does not allow her two children, Lourdes and Rocco, to watch TV. "We have TVs but they're not hooked up to anything but movies. TV is trash. I was raised without it. I didn't miss anything. TV is poison."

Katherine Westphal has never met the Material Girl. Yet, she wholeheartedly agrees with Madonna that "TV is trash". Ms. Westphal got rid of the family TV two years ago after a harrowing experience being homeless. Not having access to a TV at that time, she slowly realized that the kids behaved better without it. She got rid of it and never looked back. She felt so strongly about her decision that she created a website, TrashYourTV. com. The site not only highlights the problems with TV, but shows how much better life can be without it.

When two such different moms of such divergent backgrounds agree, it is time to pay attention. The two moms have both realized something important: Children do better without a TV.

One can only speculate why Madonna has forbidden TV in her house. Maybe she realizes that watching too much TV can contribute to obesity. Maybe she does not want her children to witness 18,000 TV murders before they turn 18, or 200,000 acts of violence. Maybe she does not want her kids to watch 40,000 commercials per year for junk food and other useless junk. Maybe she is concerned about the study that showed TV watching caused attention problems in children. Or maybe she simply dislikes the zombie look kids get when they are plugged into the tube.

These are some of the reasons listed by Ms. Westphal on her TV trashing website. “People just don’t realize the impact of watching four hours a day, the national average. It’s not good for your mind or your body. Look at your children’s eyes when they are watching TV. You don’t need a study to tell you that zombie look isn’t healthy," she explains.

"Furthermore, many people have the impression that their kids are missing something if they don’t have a TV. Nothing could be further from the truth. When they are watching TV, they are actually missing quality family time, playing with friends, reading, and physical activity."

"I don’t think Madonna and I have much in common," says Ms. Westphal. "Possibly the only thing we have in common is that we don’t allow our kids to watch TV. That and a big stubborn streak maybe," she says laughing. "Neither of us is an ideal mom. But I know I made the best decision of my parenting career when I got rid of the family TV. Madonna did too. I agree with Madonna: TV is trash."

BrilliantWork Founder, Sue Frederick, Releases 25 Principles of Finding Your BrilliantWork

BrilliantWork Founder, Sue Frederick, Releases 25 Principles of Finding Your BrilliantWork

An Inspiration to Anyone Who has Ever Searched For Meaningful Work.

(PRWEB) March 14, 2002

Boulder, CO - March 5, 2002 - Sue Frederick, career counselor, and founder of BrilliantWork. com, released today the 25 Principles of Finding Your BrilliantWork - a guide to finding the work you'll love. "Working with clients I've realized that most people don't give themselves permission to believe in the possibility of BrilliantWork," explains Frederick. "When I explain these 25 principles to them, they are inspired, motivated and committed to finding their true work."

Frederick defines BrilliantWork as "more than meaningful work. It's your true work - the work that transforms you - infuses you with light and infuses the world with your light. BrilliantWork transforms you into a brightly shining contributor to the world."

The 25 principles to finding your BrilliantWork include:

We are only truly happy (magnificent) when our work is serving the world in some meaningful way. Who cares if you're truly happy? Your family, your loved ones, your soul, your health, and your prosperity.

Your work must be a good fit for you and use the innate talents and abilities that come easily to you. BrilliantWork feels graceful and is not a constant struggle.

Your mind is your greatest enemy to finding meaningful work that you'll love. The mind is threatened by change, and it projects fear in the form of: "Who do you think you are? What about your responsibilities? You need security above all else. You should just get a job, any job."

Your heart is your best friend for finding BrilliantWork.

Your deepest pain is your best clue to finding BrilliantWork.

Your true work will change forms throughout your life. You must always be paying attention to what goes on inside of you and around you.

Your dreams are very important. When you dream of a perfect career (even if it's to be a rock & roll star, actor, etc), that dream holds important clues to helping you find your true work.

You must go on "a diet of the mind" in order to succeed at finding the work you'll love. This diet only allows positive thoughts - no fear, self-doubt, anger, and blame - just courage and determination. You can do this one thought at a time, one hour at a time, one day at a time.

You are unique; the life you've lived up until this moment is not a haphazard string of events, but rather a series of stepping stones bringing your soul to this place, to this moment, to do this work for the world.

If we passionately follow, with all of our heart and determination, the path to our true work, impossible doors will open, magic will happen, and obstacles will dissolve.

The right work resonates with your core - like being with your soulmate. You feel at peace, at ease, powerful, loved, and full of love.

When you have a great job and suddenly lose it, it's a wake-up call. You've been sleeping and not paying attention to the changes going on inside of you and around you. Perhaps your soul was longing to leave that job long ago. Perhaps you could have been proactive in making a change. (Read the other 25 Principles...)

Paxil Lung Birth Defect Lawsuit Filed

Paxil Lung Birth Defect Lawsuit Filed

Child Born with Life-Threatening Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension (PPHN) Sues Paxil-Maker

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 18, 2006

Baum Hedlund, filed what is believed to be the first Paxil PPHN-lung defect lawsuit filed to date against GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the maker of Paxil, in Pennsylvania State court on behalf of 2 year-old Eric Jackson and his parents, Christopher Jackson and Lisa Boden of Denver, Colorado — Case No. October 2006 002242. The family is seeking an unspecified amount of damages against GSK for failing to warn about the risks associated with Paxil for pregnant women and their unborn children.

Eric was born with severe Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the newborn (PPHN), a life-threatening disorder in which the newborn’s arteries to the lungs remain constricted after delivery, limiting the amount of blood flow to the lungs and therefore the amount of oxygen into the bloodstream. 10 percent to 20 percent of infants with PPHN will end up dying even if they receive treatment.

The family alleges that Ms. Boden’s ingestion of Paxil during her entire pregnancy resulted in her son being born with severe PPHN.

Since his birth, Eric has undergone several medical procedures to save his life. Immediately after birth he was placed on a ventilator, and was eventually placed on an oscillating ventilator which he remained on for a month. Thereafter, he underwent two cardiac catherizations, and a nissen fundoplication procedure to combat gastral reflux caused by being on a ventilator for an extended period of time. He remains on oxygen and medications to help him breathe.

According to the family’s attorney Karen Barth Menzies, “Eric and his family have endured a terrible ordeal. Based on its history, we believe that GSK likely had knowledge or, at minimum, should have known of this very serious risk and warned expectant mothers taking Paxil of this risk. We will conduct a thorough investigation of what GSK knew, when, and we will do all we can to vindicate the delicate life of this precious boy.”

Baum Hedlund has the longest track-record, 16 years, in handling SSRI-antidepressant litigation and has offices in Los Angeles., Washington, D. C. and Philadelphia. Five of their plaintiff attorneys are dedicated only to working on SSRI cases.

The FDA has issued three Public Health Advisories since December 2005 concerning Paxil birth defects. A recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found a six-fold increased risk of persistent pulmonary hypertension (PPHN) in infants born to mothers who took an antidepressant in the last trimester of pregnancy.

Water, the Most Valuable and Scarce Commodity is the Greatest Investment in History

Water, the Most Valuable and Scarce Commodity is the Greatest Investment in History

The increasing shortages of clean water for human life, health, economies, and ecosystems needs world efforts to save life on Earth.

San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) August 6, 2006

Quest Innovations & Research (www. questinnovations. net) is continuing it's focus of finding solutions to the deadliest life threatening global tragedy in the history of mankind-unclean drinking water. The newly formed partnership of Third Day Resources (www. thirddayresources. com) is involved in successful product development of an ultra-efficient atmospheric water unit for one of the promising solutions to the world's water crisis. The most valuable opportunity ever offered is now extended to anyone who wants to contribute to the water industry.

Clean water is the Earth's most precious resource. According to the World Health Organization, less than 1% of the world's freshwater, or 0.007% of all the water on Earth, is readily available for human consumption. The number of people living in water-stressed countries is projected to climb from 470 million to three billion by 2025. Throughout the world, clean water is polluted, underappreciated and abused. Only 20% of the world's population currently enjoys the benefits of running water. The other 80% have to find it whenever and wherever they can.

Contaminated water is deadlier than any health threat known to mankind. Unclean water kills more than AIDS, cancer, contagious diseases or even wars. Half of all hospital beds in the world are occupied by someone suffering from a water-related illness. In the developing nations, 80 percent of all diseases stem from consumption of unsafe water. Today, one human being dies every 3.5 seconds from drinking contaminated water.

The research of The World Watch Institute has determined that the rising demand for clean drinking water and ecosystem alteration has depleted water supplies, damaged ecosystems, and placed freshwater life at risk of extinction. Water tables are falling from the over pumping of groundwater in large portions of China, India, Iran, Mexico, the Middle East, North Africa, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Many major rivers—including the Colorado, Ganges, Indus, Rio Grande, and Yellow—now run dry for portions of the year. Population growth and global warming will continue to increase overwhelming global water requirements.

Quest Innovations & Research is at the forefront of implementing a new strategy for water resource technology beginning on a local level. The community knows best what it needs and has access to resources for successful project solutions. Mobilizing local environmental problem solving projects must be achieved to offer a model for the world to follow.

Gerald Flores of Quest Innovations & Research states, "The main problem is not an absence of resources to solve the needs of a community but an absence of a way of mobilizing them. Over the last ten years, there has been a development of different ways of approaching solving the water and environmental crisis with small scale appropriate technologies. For these trends to be carried through to a full and adequate fruition, they must find a way of merging and cooperating with the power economy in the minds of ordinary people so that millions of people can come to see there is a more constructive way for them to pursue their interests. As local communities create long lasting models of effective solutions for basic human needs such as clean water, it will become supported in policy. Then the large industries of fossil fuel producers will invest more in the new green sustainable technologies."

Quest Innovation & Research aspires to achieve global collaboration for the development of new environmentally friendly technologies to provide the needs for life's survival in a global citizenship.

The Nature Conservancy Announces Launch of New Program in Mongolia

The Nature Conservancy Announces Launch of New Program in Mongolia

The government of Mongolia and the Conservancy will work to secure a sustainable future for the Eastern Steppe of Mongolia’s grasslands, the largest intact grassland in the world; new program will integrate economic and social issues with conservation

ARLINGTON, VA (Vocus) October 23, 2007

Today, The Nature Conservancy (http://www. nature. org/) announced the launch of a new conservation initiative to protect the globally significant grasslands of the Eastern Steppe of Mongolia. The Conservancy will share its conservation and scientific expertise to help the government of Mongolia balance conservation and economic needs.

“This program will help Mongolia to set a new standard for sustainable development,” said Stephanie Meeks, acting president and CEO of The Nature Conservancy. “This unique effort will encompass policy initiatives with on-the-ground conservation techniques to protect more than 69 million acres of grasslands in Eastern Mongolia.”

Grasslands (http://www. nature. org/earth/grasslands/grasslandtypes. html) are among the most threatened habitat types on Earth—50 percent of these landscapes have been lost to agriculture use, urbanization and fire suppression. Around the world, grasslands have supported human life for countless generations. From the rolling prairies of North America to the sun struck savannas of Africa, grasslands provide an array of services that make our lives possible, including food, pharmaceuticals, economic opportunities, protection of freshwater resources as well as habitat for multitudes of plants and animals. Yet despite these threats, grasslands are the least protected of all terrestrial major habitat types on the planet.

Mongolia, home to vibrant and celebrated nomadic cultures that coexist with an astonishing array of wildlife, contains the largest unconverted temperate grasslands remaining in the world. Visitors may come across steppe eagles, cranes, wolves and Mongolian gazelles. The Mongolian gazelle, a nomadic species that follows no fixed migratory route, needs an extremely large landscape to survive – but the once isolated, unpopulated Eastern Steppe in Mongolia is facing unprecedented development pressures as the country seeks to expand its economy and connect to the East Asian markets.

According to Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar, conservation is an essential part of the government’s agenda, but the challenge is to reconcile economic needs with the protection of the country’s unique natural treasures. Working with the government of Mongolia and many diverse partners, the Conservancy’s new conservation initiative will work to address these issues by incorporating conservation of vast areas of grasslands with sustainable development and policy initiatives.

“The Mongolia program’s pragmatic approach to conservation will directly benefit the people of Mongolia,” added Meeks. “By integrating herder traditions and livelihoods with water conservation, sustainable economic and infrastructure development, and biodiversity conservation, this program can play an active role in the long-term health of the people and species that live within the Eastern Steppe.”

The program will also help local communities to establish and manage conservation areas, develop a model of coordinated grassland, wildlife and wetland management with neighboring provinces, and facilitate a national environmental forum to unite business, religious, governmental and conservation leaders around in a common environmental agenda.

The Nature Conservancy is a leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. To date, the Conservancy and its more than one million members have been responsible for the protection of more than 15 million acres in the United States and have helped preserve more than 102 million acres in Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific. Reductions in Medicare Reimbursement are Drastically Reshaping the U. S. Oxygen Therapy Devices Market

Reductions in Medicare Reimbursement are Drastically Reshaping the U. S. Oxygen Therapy Devices Market

Frost & Sullivan (medicaldevices. frost. com) finds that U. S. Oxygen Therapy Devices Markets earned revenues of $528.2 million in 2005 and estimates this market to reach $ 885.9 million in 2012.

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) April 2, 2006

Decreasing reimbursement rates have forced healthcare providers and manufacturers to cut costs and increase the lifetime of oxygen therapy devices. These market changes have slowed demand for several devices, thereby lowering unit shipments for manufacturers. To offset the dull unit sales, some manufacturers are slashing prices up to 50 percent. Manufacturers' profit margins are declining as they struggle to comply with the revised reimbursement payments and proposed oxygen cap on rentals. Reimbursement cuts initially reduced the demand for oxygen devices; however, more efficient systems are revitalizing segments of the U. S. oxygen therapy devices market.

Frost & Sullivan (http://www. medicaldevices. frost. com (http://www. medicaldevices. frost. com)) finds that U. S. Oxygen Therapy Devices Markets earned revenues of $528.2 million in 2005 and estimates this market to reach $ 885.9 million in 2012.

If you are interested in a virtual brochure, which provides manufacturers, end users, and other industry participants an overview of the latest analysis of the U. S. Oxygen Therapy Devices Markets, then send an e-mail to Melina Trevino - Corporate Communications with the following information: your full name, company name, title, telephone number, e-mail address, city, state, and country. We will send you the information via email upon receipt of the above information.

"Increase in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients boosts interest in oxygen therapy," explains Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst, Sheila Ewing. "Thus, earlier placement of patients on oxygen intensifies demand for oxygen therapy devices."

The aging population and the increased incidence of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) are the main factors influencing the increase in COPD patients requiring oxygen. For the aging population, COPD is a disease that strikes later in life with 60 as an average age of onset.

There has been a medical movement in the last two years to push for physician awareness of COPD and earlier diagnosis. Currently, approximately only 50 percent of the cases are diagnosed, often at later stages of the disease. Oxygen therapy is also known to delay the onset of more severe symptoms and is being encouraged for earlier use in stage two of COPD.

As awareness of this disease increases, funding and diagnosis expect to follow. Earlier diagnosis and awareness of COPD also expect to increase the number of patients on oxygen therapy and; hence, the demand for the devices.

In 2005, Medicare reduced reimbursement payments forcing manufacturers to drop prices of the oxygen therapy devices and leaving them searching for initiatives to counter the impact. Due to Medicare cuts, patient’s out-of-pocket expenses expect rise up to 30 percent. In some cases, the aging population may be able to supplement their Medicare reimbursement to obtain the devices. However, many patients do not have supplemental income.

Providers anticipate up to a 20 percent decrease in their revenues as a result of reductions in Medicare reimbursement. Providers are restricted by severe reductions in Medicare reimbursement, but may purchase new devices if the device provides a significant improvement either for patients or in terms of maintenance cost reduction.

“The reduction in Medicare reimbursement will not only affect the DME providers, but significantly impact manufacturers. Providers are requesting manufacturers to share the burden of the Medicare cuts," notes Ewing. "Thus, these cuts will further delay the introduction of innovative products in the market as manufacturers are forced to reduce expenses.”

Manufacturers can recover from the downfall by taking steps to increase the number of oxygen therapy patients through education programs for early detection of COPD in stages 1 and 2 . . .

The U. S. Oxygen Therapy Devices Markets is part of the Medical Devices Subscription, which also includes research in the following markets:

F33-54 U. S. Congestive Heart Failure Device Markets and F679-54 U. S. Cardiac Rhythm Management Markets. All research included in subscriptions provide detailed market opportunities and industry trends that have been evaluated following extensive interviews with market participants. Interviews are available to the press.

Southern Building Show Selects SpeedHeat® Generation4™ Electric Radiant Floor Heating for Inclusion in Both Their “New & Renew” Showcase Homes

Southern Building Show Selects SpeedHeat® Generation4™ Electric Radiant Floor Heating for Inclusion in Both Their “New & Renew” Showcase Homes

Open to both consumers and builders alike, the 2006 Southern Building Show in Atlanta will feature a huge exhibit area and two showcase homes incorporating the latest and greatest in new building innovations and Earth-friendly products. Among the unique products featured, SpeedHeat’s Generation4™ electric radiant floor heating systems were selected for both the “New & Renew” showcase homes because the products improve comfort and offer energy savings.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 2, 2006

For builders and consumers seeking the latest tips and trends in residential construction and remodeling, the Southern Building Show is a must-attend event. The 13th annual show will be held at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta, GA from June 8-10, with the exhibit area being open on Friday and Saturday (June 9-10).

In addition to over 450 exhibits, the show also features tours of two showcase homes including one new construction project and one renovation project. The “new” home is a luxury 7,000 square foot custom home by Dennis McConnell in Virginia Highlands. The “renew” home is a high-end remodeling project in Buckhead by Joe Maddox. Both projects have been built to EarthCraft specifications for air quality, energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources. They also include many innovative new products including Generation4™ electric radiant floor heating systems by SpeedHeat®.

SpeedHeat’s Generation4™ electric radiant floor heating systems were included in both the “new and renew” showcase homes because the products improve comfort, offer energy savings and may help reduce the level of airborne allergens. In the remodeled house, SpeedHeat® is installed in all bathrooms, the master bedroom and the bonus/display room. In the custom home, SpeedHeat® is installed in the large master bathroom and even inside the shower so the floors never feel cold. SpeedHeat will also be featured in the exhibit area at booth 416.

“The Southern Building Show selected our unique products for their showcase homes because ‘floor warming’ is becoming increasingly popular and our products are a perfect upgrade in both new construction and renovation projects,” explains Peter Newman, President of SpeedHeat U. S. “Our Generation4™ systems can be installed under virtually any flooring material and also help conserve energy and create healthier environments. We are honored to be a part of the show and look forward to helping educate builders and consumers about our innovative and affordable warming solutions.”

The Southern Building Show exhibit hall will be open on Friday, June 9 from 10:00 a. m. until 5:30 p. m. and on Saturday, June 10 from 10:00 a. m. until 4:00 p. m. Bus tours of the projects will run directly from the show, and the tours are open to all attendees. Free exhibit hall passes are available at www. southernbuildingshow. com.

More SpeedHeat® Advantages:

The idea behind electric radiant floor heating (http://www. speedheat. us/comfort_benefits. htm) is really quite simple — by installing a heating element under the flooring material, heat naturally rises and warms the room from the ground up with a soothing radiant effect. HealthSource of Chicago: New Techniques for Back Pain Relief in Chicago

HealthSource of Chicago: New Techniques for Back Pain Relief in Chicago

Dr. Ruzila with HealthSoure of Chicago, a chiropractor doctor, has developed new techniques to relieve back pain. People with herniated discs, sciatica, stenosis, hip and leg pain, now have an oportunity to change their lives!

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 26, 2009

Dr. Paul Ruzila, Chiropractic Doctor of HealthSource of Chicago, announced today that they have come up with new breakthroughs in back pain relief for herniated discs, sciatica, stenosis, hip and leg pain. These new practices in chiropractic care are available without surgury. Dennis, a patient of HealthSource, had major league back pain. So when he started exercising he was supposed to feel stronger and more flexible not wreck his back. But in no time an intense lower back pain caused him serious issues. Dennis comments that he was really desperate because the pain in his back became really intense. It became really hard for him to sleep, drive, sit up straight, walk, stand up straight, and even putting on a pair of shoes became a hard task for him to do.

So Dennis rested and waited. But when he finally started exercising again, the pain got so bad he had to quit school and even quit work! Why did it happen? Because just exercise, rest, painkillers, muscle relaxants, and icy-hot creams don't fix anything! That's why many sweep-it under the rug cures may actually do more harm than good especially if people like Dennis, who had a disc problem.

It only stands to reason when something is wrong or causing back pain, it stays wrong until it is either fixed or what's making it bad in the first place is changed.

That's where the danger lies with these cover up medications and remedies that give 2 minutes of relief and really don't take into consideration what is going on under the surface. Some of the worst of this damage is called degenerative disc disease. It's like termites working, unseen, on the foundation of a house, eating it away, bit by bit.

When people's spine, feet, knees, pelvis or feet are out of alignment or unbalanced, another part of the body tries to make it right. Which part of body part gets beaten down trying to carry a load it was never meant to handle? It's those poor overstressed vertebra and discs that sit right on the belt line. They try to make up for imbalances in the muscles, pelvis and hips by trying to bend a little more, twist a little more and carry a little more of the load...and sometimes in the worst possible, even dangerous positions. It's like the tires being out of alignment on a car. They grind away at the treads until they go flat and lose control on the freeway. With tires, people just buy a new set and get them aligned. But what about the back? Since people can't get new parts, what should they do?

A new hope for even the worst kind of back pain is now available from a local Chicago, IL chiropractic clinic (http://www. healthsourcechicago. com). The good news is, HealthSource offers a new, computerized, breakthrough treatment for even horrible back pain. It's called spinal decompression and it's featured here at HealthSource of Chicago, IL Chiropractic (http://www. healthsourcechicago. com/chiro_info. aspx)™ Clinics. It was just what Dennis needed when he couldn't take anymore pain and the doctors were recommending surgery. They told Dennis his chances for recovery were about 50% not including the risk of infection and complications. So his family tried to talk him out of it. That's when he heard about the computerized back machine at HealthSource of Chicago Chiropractic™ and when his life turned around.

Here's how spinal decompression works. People's discs are sort of like a cream-filled cookie. Over time, with gravity, stress, and imbalances, the "filling" between the discs can get squished out toward the edges where it pushes on the nerves and the amazing thing about Spinal Decompression is, qualified as carefully opening up the squashed discs while laying comfortably on the back. The computer does the work by creating a very precise, gentle, pump like action to help relieve disc pressure. Then, a mild vacuum effect is created inside the disc sort of like a turkey baster. This helps bring the gooey stuff back into the center of the disc and away from the pinched nerves. It's so comfortable and gentle, some of our patients actually fall asleep during their treatments it's such a relief. Dr. Ruzila and his chiropractic doctors have defined this new technique as Progressive Rehab (http://www. healthsourcechicago. com/progressive_rehab. aspx)™.

Because it's important to get to the reason why a patient is having disc problems in the first place the imbalances in the muscles, and pelvis plus misalignments in the spine. So HealthSource uses a combination of healing strategies like muscle techniques, therapy, chiropractic adjustments and rehab along with spinal decompression to get the pain relief people need. These doctors want people to be able to perform daily operations of life such a:
Bend down to tie your own shoes-- even put on your own socks! Turn over in bed at night--pain free! Lean over to pick up the grandkids Start power walking--maybe even go to the fitness center Get in and out of the car without back pain when you lift you legs Vacuum--even move chairs and shove the recliner out of the way Reach down fast to wipe up the spill that's spreading on the kitchen floor

4th Annual Generic Drug Forum - Future Trends in the Generic Drug Industry

4th Annual Generic Drug Forum - Future Trends in the Generic Drug Industry

4th Annual Generic Drug Forum April 6-7, 2006 | Washington, DC |   There are many issues that Generic Drug manufacturers face in expanding their product offerings and taking them to market. When looking at the marketing and business development side of the generic drug market, there are a lot of challenges that companies are facing. It becomes increasingly difficult for generic drug manufacturers to make decisions on what drug would be the best to move forward into production. It is also important to know what the branded pharmaceutical companies are planning for future product developments, as well as with their current branded therapies, as many companies, when considering the expiry of their blockbusters’ patent, will consider re-launching or redeveloping the therapy in order to elongate or continue the brand. Reaching patients and creating access to generic drugs has become one of the largest challenges faced by the industry as people, in general, do not consider them to be “bioequivalent” to their branded partners. From the production side, there are also a number of important issues to consider. Generic drug manufacturers must insure that the drugs they are producing are exact replicas of the branded drugs in accordance with FDA regulations. This is of increasing importance, as many branded drugs are of an increasingly complex nature, and thus require additional manufacturing quality assurance programs. In some cases, generic drug manufacturers are being told that they need to conduct small to mid-scale clinical trials to prove the efficacy of their products! And, of course, there is increasing FDA surveillance, resulting in large-scale recalls and, to a smaller extent, the liquidation of generic houses. At this conference, we will address these issues through the presentation of case studies and the conducting of panel discussions highlighting the best practices of leading generic drug companies.

Washington (PRWEB) February 9, 2006

The Bush Administration has deliberately advocated for the production and use of generic drugs to keep down spiraling healthcare costs. A policy, which has led to increasing use of generic therapeutics worldwide with generic drugs, capturing 14% of the global healthcare market, and revenues of $58 billion. The imminent patent expirations of many major drugs; 42 in the period 2005 to 2009 will provide a critical growth stimulus for the generic drug companies. Therefore a possible ripe future exists but one not with out challenges.

Marcus evans’ 4th Annual Generic Drug Forum April 6-7, 2006, will address issues, which are occurring in evolving generic drug industry through the presentation of case studies and the conducting of panel discussions highlighting the best practices of leading generic drug companies, which will lead to that ripe future in the generic drug Industry. Topics of interest include, ‘Empowering Generic Drug Companies against the Trend of Branded Patent Extensions’, Shashank Upadhye, Esq., VP & Counsel, Sandoz; ‘Anticipating the Future of the generic Drug Industry: What will the Tevas and the Mylans Do Next?’ Peter Ballard, Managing Director, Genus Pharmaceuticals and‘ Sustaining Competitive Markets in the Face of Authorized Generics’, Jake Hansen, VP, Government Affairs, Barr Laboratories and ‘Embracing the Modernization and its Implications for the Generic Drug Industry’ Shawn Brown, Director Policy, Generic Pharmaceutical Association.

Experts from Ranbaxy, Teva Sicor, Generamedix, Clay-park Laboratories, Elite Pharmaceuticals, Taro Pharmaceuticals, RxElite, United Research Laboratories, Pliva, Roxane Laboratories, Generamedix and FDA News will also share further industry perspectives.
