Pocket Reference Journals Premieres CD Audio Book for Newly Diagnosed Diabetics

Pocket Reference Journals has just released its first CD Audio Book for Newly Diagnosed Diabetics "My Pocket Doctor" . Written by an Endocrinologist, a Certified Diabetes Educator, a Registered Dietitian, and a Rocket Scientist! It's upbeat, inspiring, and very informative. Perfect for those that prefer to listen and learn, and the blind.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 25, 2008

Pocket Reference Journals, a seasoned publishing company that produces pocket - sized journals has just released its first CD Audio Book for newly diagnosed diabetics called "My Pocket Doctor" A Reference Guide and Journal.

This CD is upbeat, inspirational, and helpful for educating the "newbie". It's an expanded adaptation of the book on disease terminology with easy to understand descriptions. There's information on blood glucose testing, insulin facts, pills, new medications, dining out, illness complications, as well as such other important social issues such as traveling, leisure and exercise, and smoking and alcohol, and more. Publisher turned producer Bonnie L. Schachter says "there's not much on the market for people who prefer to learn thru listening, so I just thought it's the way I would want to learn, and assume there are many more people like me out there".

The CD talks to you as if you were in a conversation, not at all like most educational CD's. Sylvia Hernandez, Registered Dietitian, and Certified Diabetes Educator sounds like the educator you wish you had, and is one of the authors narrating. Any newly diagnosed diabetic that's just been informed that they have diabetes should be running to get this CD. It makes learning just a lot more interesting, and friendly, on what can be a very frightening experience regarding changing lifetime habits. Self-management is the key to living a happy, and healthy life, and learning as much as you can will improve your outcomes.

Bonnie L. Schachter not only produced the CD but narrates on several of the tracks. She's highly motivational. Upon hearing that her mother has diabetes, and it runs in her family, it's no wonder why she produced a CD that she'd be proud to learn from.

"My Pocket Doctor" also recently won an Award from the National Health Information Association. The reference journal won in the category of Patient Education, and was chosen from among 1,000 entries.

The CD is also perfect for use in diabetes support groups, or to be used in conjunction with lifestyle and dietary management programs via hospitals or hmo's. It is also being sold online thru several independent living aids stores, diabetes supply companies, Mother's Markets, and will be available from audible. com soon.

This CD is also "blind - friendly" and can be ordered with a Braille label. In addition, there is also a Contracted Braille edition. An audio sampler is also available on their website. The running time is 1 hour. Suggested retail is $12.50, and you may order online at www. pocketreferencejournals. com or contact them at 714.914.2565 or email them at bonnie @ pocketreferencejournals. com.

Hartford, CT (PRWEB) August 3, 2007

Corporate legal departments are increasingly faced with the need to control costs and operate with the same metric-driven budgets as other departments. Sharing best practices is one way to meet these new challenges head-on. CT TyMetrix, part of CT, a Wolters Kluwer business, today announced the newest addition to its industry group offerings with the launch of the Telecommunications and Technologies Peer Group. The goal of this new group is to promote sharing of best practices among law department leaders in the telecommunications and technologies industries.

CT TyMetrix initiated vertical market groups in 2006 by extending invitations to select groups of similarly situated peers and colleagues from legal departments of leading companies in specific industries. These unique peer-to-peer groups are part of an initiative lead by Wolters Kluwer, CT TyMetrix's parent organization, to gain deep knowledge into customers' day-to-day work environments.

It is critical that corporate counsel use objective measurements to increase savings, improve efficiencies and defend their legal expenditures, while at the same time minimizing potential losses and advancing the company's legal interests. Technologies such as e-billing and matter management greatly enhance a legal department's ability to do this.

CT TyMetrix's industry peer groups provide direct access to law department leaders that identify business needs, advancing an important company goal of creating a continuous exchange of expertise and ideas. "Forums such as the Telecommunications and Technology Peer Group better position our organization to learn how law departments are applying emerging technologies to their workflow challenges," said John Weber, CT TyMetrix general manager. "This information helps us develop technology that can be leveraged to better manage legal costs, increase collaboration and proactively support business operations in a global environment."

"By focusing on needs expressed directly by our customers, Wolters Kluwer is learning more about their best practices first-hand," said Gene Landoe, president and CEO of CT and Wolters Kluwer Corporate Legal Services. "Our approach involves a structured process to become well informed of customer and market requirements, and to use that knowledge to develop a well-defined set of product development features that are validated directly with our customers."

In addition to this newest peer group, CT TyMetrix also sponsors groups in several different industries including finance, insurance, energy, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing. These groups are open to CT TyMetrix clients and non-clients alike. Groups are organized around a charter of driving change through the sharing of experiences and strategies among visionary leaders who have demonstrated success through excellent management and the leveraging of legal technology.

Marching Forward to Stamp Out Child Labour

Marching Forward to Stamp Out Child Labour

BHADOHI, INDIA: Despite the efforts of western carpet chain stores and many NGOs, child labour in the Indian carpet industry is still endemic. A determined effort with solid economic underpinning is well under way starting in the rugs and carpets business.

BHADOHI, INDIA (PRWEB) September 14, 2004

Despite the efforts of western carpet chain stores and many NGOs, child labour in the Indian carpet industry is still endemic. A determined effort with solid economic underpinning is well under way starting in the rugs and carpets business.

Carpet and rug-making are an ancient trade that unfortunately took an

Ugly turn during 70s and 80s. There was a great rush of demand for Indain handmade carpets. Orders poured in but there was a production constraint. To exploit this opportunity, loom owners and contractors started employing child labour who were mostly imported from neighbouring states. Their numbers increased to an alarming proportion during 90s.

The practice continues though is somewhat clandestine. These child workers are not only deprived of their basic rights but also develop health problems by sitting hunched on looms for hours often in poor light. In addition, the artificial dyes used caused serious damage to the environment both at the time of production and also at the time of disposal.

While consumers may be shocked at the environmental damage caused and the conditions under which children work to produce certain goods such as rugs and carpets, there are few reasonable alternatives to the rugs and carpets produced by child carpet workers coloured with artificial dyes.

A revolutionary environmentally friendly rug called CloudSEJ is now available which uses all natural inputs and retains the natural colouring of the fiber so that artificial dyes are not needed. The rugs do not need to be washed saving not only massive use of water but also avoiding the use of chemicals that pollute environment. CloudSEJ is made by master craftsmen in villages who are paid generously for their work and no child labour whatsoever is used. The production of CloudSEJ is part of a larger village-centred self-sustaining economic system that is already evolving.

Mr Naseem Ansari took particular exception to the use of child labour and environmentally dangerous materials in rug production. The ennWorld Trust was formed to work towards the elimination of child labour and environmentally unfriendly materials. The first product launched by ennWorld is the CloudSEJ rug.

"What we are doing is launching a viable and excellent rug to compete with the carpetwallas," explained Mr Ansari. The term "carpetwallas" literally means "carpet vendors" but is often used to refer to bosses of carpet production who exploit child labour to the fullest.

EnnWorld has a satellite office in the UK and is headquartered in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India near to the nation's capital of New Delhi.

For more information, and to support ennWorld by ordering CloudSEJ rugs, go to www. enworld. org or email naseem@ennworld. org

Local, Not Federal, Government Agencies Provide Business Grants According To National Institute of Business Grants

Local, Not Federal, Government Agencies Provide Business Grants According To National Institute of Business Grants

Only local governments and private corporations distribute business grants, according to new research by the National Institute of Business Grants.

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) July 1, 2009

It is a very common misconception that business grants are given away by the federal government. This is not true at all. Grants available through the U. S. government are generally reserved for non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, state and local governments. However, there are plenty of state and local government agencies as well as private organizations and foundations that offer business grant money. A good place to begin is within your own state.

The U. S. Government's Official Web Portal (www. usa. gov/Agencies/State_and_Territories. shtml (http://www. usa. gov/Agencies/State_and_Territories. shtml)) is an excellent online resource that enables you to click on your state and search for state grant money within all kinds of areas, such as agricultural, environmental quality, health, law, and cultural affairs. You can also search the office of the Governor of your state, or search through various state offices such as Affordable Housing, Transportation Dept., Soil and Water Conservation, Education or any other department whose focus best aligns with the nature of your business.

Local sources of funding may include Lions Club, Rotary, Kiwanis, Veterans Administration, Community Development Foundation, Regional Planning Commission, colleges and universities, and hospitals. Civic organizations often have foundations that manage requests for grant money, and the objective must align with their mission and values and benefit the community in some way.

Another local source of business grant money is your state's or city's chamber of commerce, your mayor's office, your congressman's office, and even your governor's office.

In addition to local government agencies, The Foundation Center (www. foundationcenter. org) provides a directory of over 200 corporate grantmakers. Major corporations often establish trusts and foundations to give business grant money to companies and organizations that engage in efforts that are aligned closely with their mission and values. A few examples are General Electric, Ford, Wal-Mart, the Gates Foundation, the Lilly Endowment, Ford Foundation, Hasbro Industries Charitable Trust, W. K. Kellogg Foundation, the Kipling Foundation, Clorox Company, Allstate Foundation, and International Paper Company. Each company's foundation has specific criteria on the business focus that meets their criteria for receiving grant money. Grant money can range from $500 to $5 million, depending on the size of the foundation.

What Are Business Grants?

A business grant is essentially free money given to entrepreneurs and business owners to start and/or expand a business.

Happiness Doctor Robert Houle Ph. D Offers Free Tools to CNN Happiness Report-Inspired Individuals

Happiness Doctor Robert Houle Ph. D Offers Free Tools to CNN Happiness Report-Inspired Individuals

In response to CNN's report last November, 'Happiness and Your Health - The Surprising Connection', compiled and presented by neurosurgeon and senior medical correspondent Dr Sanjay Gupta, Dr Robert Houle Ph. D has launched his new website on the subject, HappinessCenter. com.

Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) January 17, 2007

After the fascination and intrigue amongst the general public in response to CNN's report last November, 'Happiness and Your Health - The Surprising Connection', compiled and presented by neurosurgeon and senior medical correspondent Dr Sanjay Gupta, Dr Robert Houle Ph. D has launched his new website on the subject, HappinessCenter. com, to complement and expand on his newly released 'The Magic of Unlimited Happiness' tips booklets.

HappinessCenter. com offers those interested a chance to analyse the happiness (or lack of, as the case may be) in their lives through an informative and revealing quiz, a 5-part intro to Happiness coaching and the opportunity to benefit from Dr Houle's full High Speed Coaching Program, featuring one-on-one tutoring and personal support by Dr Houle himself. The CNN report found that the levels of happiness in a person's life have a direct influence on that person's opportunities, health, lifespan, work life and personal life. Dr Houle, with a Ph. D in Clinical Psychology and who served as a Visiting Fellow at the Center for the Studies of the Person, La Jolla, CA, has worked to provide a solution to the negative effects of insufficient levels of happiness in one's life by offering a variety of resources to those who feel they wish to improve the quality of their lives.

He believes that a greater level of happiness can be achieved through alterations in one's mindset and adding more 'simple, happy solutions' to one's life. Dr Houle's HappinessCenter. com offers visitors a free quiz in order to determine and reveal how happy they really are with their lives. The quiz was originally devised by the founding father of happiness research, Illinois University psychologist Edward Diener, back in 1980, and has been used repeatedly in studies since then. It has also featured in TIME magazine's Mind and Body issue under the section 'The Science of Happiness'. The quiz is comprised of a number of short questions, to be measured on a scale of one to five, on how happy one believes his life to be. The results are then instantly emailed to the individual.

Dr Houle also gives visitors to his website the opportunity to sneak a peek at his High Speed Coaching Program, designed to take an individual step by step through the process of switching the mindset to a more positive one by way of personal coaching telephone sessions, email support and the 'Dr Bob Houle Personal Success Plan'. The free 5-part introduction to Dr Houle's coaching program consists of daily emails designed to encourage the individual to analyze his life and 'give up the excuses' as to why he doesn't have what he wants out of life. Dr Houle believes that a defeatist attitude is part of the problem. 'There is nothing you can do about finding your dream job…there just aren't enough good jobs to go around.' Dr Houle says that this kind of negative attitude is 'simply giving in to fear,' and is a 'no-risk waste of time that keeps you stuck.' He expands on this idea: '…you interpret this to mean that you can't have control over yourself.' The 5-part introductory series continues with other aspects of one's life, encouraging a more objective analysis of the individual's personal circumstances in an attempt to change the deeply engrained negative mindset of the reader. Dr Houle's recently released 'The Magic of Unlimited Happiness' tips booklets, give details on how to effectively encourage more happiness into one's life and how one can use that newfound happiness to positively influence one's own personal circumstances. These fascinating tips booklets are available at HappinessCenter. com.

Dr Houle's website, HappinessCenter. com, looks set to be a great hit, especially with those who found the CNN report interesting and wish to implement a few strategies to improve their own lives. For those wanting to benefit from Dr Houle's High Speed Coaching Program, Dr Houle can be contacted at drbob@happinesscenter. com Dr. Robert Houle holds a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology and served as a Visiting Fellow at the Center for the Studies of the Person, La Jolla, California, where he studied modern psychological strategies with internationally acclaimed scientist and Humanistic Psychology founder Dr. Carl Rogers. He is the founder of HappinessCenter. com, CaliforniaDJs. com and author of the tips booklets, "The Magic of Unlimited Happiness: 71 Surefire Choices from the Inside Out" and "The Magic of Unlimited Happiness: 67 Surefire Choices for the World Around You". Moonlight Slumber Proudly Launches Two New Product Lines

Moonlight Slumber Proudly Launches Two New Product Lines

Infant Safety and Health improved via two new products, premium crib mattresses and a transitional maternity body pillow from a new baby products company.

Cary, Illinois (PRWEB) May 27, 2004

Moonlight Slumber™, established in 2004, is launching its new business and two new product lines. Marketed as premium sleep products for the health and comfort of little dreamers, Moonlight Slumber’s product lines consist of a crib, cradle, and youth-sized mattress line which includes changing table pads, and a maternity body pillow line that disassembles into a nursing pillow and bolsters. Setting these products apart from the competition is their focus on health and safety features first, followed closely by durability and beauty.

Terri Paul, president of Moonlight Slumber, describes her mattress line, Starlight Support™, as “simply the best crib mattress available.” She does not say this lightly. The Starlight Support mattress from Moonlight Slumber stands apart from competitive products with features like:

• An open-flame resistant barrier that exceeds all current and planned fire retardant Federal Flammability Standards including CAL. TB603.

• Welded seams instead of sewn seams to avoid puncturing the ticking, keeping out dust mites, bacteria, and fluids.

• Antimicrobial treatment inside and out to prevent bacteria growth for the lifetime of the mattress.

• Elimination of taped edges (the decorative ‘rollÂ’ on corners of a standard mattress). This taping absorbs moisture and becomes host to bacteria and allows for a better fit in the crib.

• Premium ticking, which has a suede-like feel, yet is flame resistant, antimicrobial, impenetrable by dust mites, allergens, and fluids and is stain resistant.

Further, the Starlight Support mattress line boasts comfort and beauty. Each side has a different degree of firmness: one for infants, the other for toddlers. There is even a Starlight Support Supreme mattress that adds a layer of viscoelastic “memory foam” to the firm toddler side. The ticking remains supple for life without cracking or making noise and the clean edges pulls your sheet taut making a crisp, beautiful, safe bed.

Starlight Support mattresses are available in a high-density foam or a more traditional foam encapsulated innerspring model. The price for either style is the same, so the decision is purely up to customer preference. Custom sizes and round shapes are available as are twin, full, queen, and king sizes.

The second product line is the Serenity Star™ maternity body pillow. Described as the “prenatal to preschool transitional pillow” the Serenity Star proves its worth both during pregnancy and after birth.

The Serenity Star is uniquely designed in three parts, a curved pillow and two bolsters, to form a complete “U” shape when used together. This configuration resembles a traditional maternity body pillow in that it comforts the Mother-to-be as she sleeps by assisting with proper body alignment. What truly sets the Serenity Star apart from all others is that post pregnancy, it still serves a purpose when it disassembles into a nursing pillow and two bolsters. Bolsters are sized to span the width of a king-sized bed, but are narrow enough to make ideal youth pillows.

Another key differentiator of the Serenity Star is its superior synthetic fill, which is odorless, hypoallergenic, stays hygienically clean, offers relief from dust mites and comes with a lifetime warranty. It is warm in the winter, cool in the summer and feels luxurious, yet is fully machine washable and dryable without clumping—ever.

Moonlight Support is also offering custom cases for the Serenity Star with optional decorative cording and monogramming to make the Serenity Star part of the childÂ’s, or parents, bedroom suite.

About Moonlight Slumber

Moonlight Slumber products are designed for the most discerning of parents and their little dreamers. From our hallmark product, the Starlight Support line of crib, cradle, and youth mattresses and changing table pads, to our uniquely engineered Serenity Star maternity transitional pillow, you wonÂ’t find better products anywhere in the marketplace. Unparalleled Quality. Unparalleled Safety. We strive for excellence. The health and comfort of children depends on it.

NESCA Staff Engages in Public Policy Formulation and Expanded Community Outreach

NESCA Staff Engages in Public Policy Formulation and Expanded Community Outreach

The professional staff of NESCA (Neuropsychology & Education Services for Children & Adolescents), a private pediatric neuropsychology practice in Newton, MA founded and directed by Dr. Ann Helmus, has become increasingly active in community outreach and education, with some clinicians also having been invited to participate in the formulation of state government policy.

Newton, MA (PRWEB) March 14, 2009

NESCA Director Dr. Ann Helmus was recently asked by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to serve on a committee of professionals charged with updating what is known as a "technical assistance advisory" relating to the education of children with neurological impairments, as defined by the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Similarly, Dr. Nancy Roosa has been selected to participate in the first-ever "Mayor's Summit on Autism", sponsored by Mayor Thomas Menino, the Boston Public Schools and the Boston Public Health Commission. The purpose of this all-day event, on April 3rd in Boston, is "to bring together individuals for an inclusive dialogue to discuss and frame recommendations on policy, advocacy and actions necessary to improve outcomes for all individuals with autism spectrum disorders within the City of Boston, and to shape the agenda for next steps."

Stakeholders involved will include researchers, policy analysts, practitioners, academicians, educators, funders, parents and community leaders.

Drs. Helmus and Stephanie Monaghan-Blout are ongoing contributors to the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative, a collaborative effort between the Massachusetts Advocates for Children and the Hale and Dorr Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School, that involves a multi-disciplinary group of professionals working together to better define the educational needs of children who have been traumatized.

Finally, on March 19th, NESCA senior neuropsychologist Dr. Elizabeth Gatti will speak to parents at the Shady Hill School in Cambridge, giving an overview of neuropsychological testing and its utility, and discussing when and for whom testing may be appropriate.

Dr. Helmus said that "NESCA views community outreach and education as integral and, indeed, essential parts of our drive to establish new, higher standards of care for children and their families coping with learning disabilities or other academic challenges, or developmental disabilities. We welcome inquiries from community groups including SpEd PACs and others seeking additional information or guest speakers. We are also available to work with school districts in the training of teachers and others involved in special education. Our goal is to ensure that the children we serve receive the best possible care both in the clinical setting and in their communities."

About NESCA

NESCA tests, evaluates and treats children - aged pre-school through adolescence - who are confronted by developmental, learning or emotional challenges. NESCA offers a full range of neuropsychological testing, diagnostic and treatment services, specializing in the evaluation and remediation of nonverbal and other learning disabilities, assessment of executive functioning and ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, special education issues, school placements and tutoring, as well as projective testing, counseling, social skills development and yoga-based, mind-body integration therapy.

1450, the leading distributor of Dragon Medical speech recognition software announces the launch of EHRtv, a wide-ranging video analysis of the EHR Industry. In conjunction with EHR Scope and EHRConsultant. com, EHRtv now provides comprehensive assistance to physicians searching for EHR technology.

Palm Beach Gardens, FL (PRWEB) April 3, 2009

1450, the world's leading distributor of Dragon® Medical speech recognition software for the healthcare industry, announces the launch of EHRtv. com (http://www. ehrtv. com), a service which is poised to become the most comprehensive library of video information available for physicians on Electronic Health Records, Electronic Medical Records, and Personal Health Records.

"The pace of physician adoption of EHR technology has been painfully slow during the preceding decade." says Eric Fishman, MD, President and CEO of 1450. "However, with the passage of the Economic Stimulus package, offering both incentives and penalties associated with rapid and delayed adoption of health information technology, respectively, there is an urgent need for physicians to obtain information in as rapid a fashion as possible."

The creative team of EHRtv draws upon over half-a-century of medical IT and medical journalism experience to bring physicians and other healthcare facilities such as IPAs and community hospitals the most reliable information on EHRs available on the web today. "With our extensive contacts within federal health agencies and the industry itself, we go right to the source for the most up to date and accurate information concerning EHRs, EMRs and PHRs." Says EHRtv's Creative Director, Steven Goodman.

Featured videos currently on the site include: An introduction to EHRs, Vendor Selection, Analysis of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), and various demonstration videos of EHR software. Hundreds of other spots are planned, with new content being added daily. EHRtv will feature interviews of EHR company executives, politicians, physicians and CIOs. We will also discuss negotiating with EHR vendors, EHR implementation, e-Prescribing, physician workflow, interoperability, templates, hardware, networks, scanning, security, mobility, billing, practice management, and PHRs. EHRtv will be interviewing at HIMSS09 in Chicago, April 4th - April 7th, 2009.

"Videos are just the surface," says Fishman. "We know that video is a great way to engage and educate the audience. However, EHRtv is only one part of our integrated approach to HIT, which includes the print magazine EHR Scope, consulting services through EMRConsultant. com (http://www. emrconsultant. com/) and speech recognition expertise, all of which can be accessed through our menu of services at http://www.1450.com/logomeaning. html (http://www.1450.com/logomeaning. html). Take a look at our logo. You'll see that it is designed to represent the integration and interconnectivity of all aspects of healthcare information."

Hospitals and Higher Education Facilities Authority Names James P. Baker, Jr. Interim CEO

Hospitals and Higher Education Facilities Authority Names James P. Baker, Jr. Interim CEO

James P. Baker, Jr. to be interim CEO of Hospitals and Higher Education Facilities Authority

Philadelphia, Pa. (Vocus) September 16, 2010

At its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, September 14, the board of the Hospitals and Higher Education Facilities Authority accepted the resignation of its president and CEO, Wayne A. Mugrauer and voted to name James B. Baker, Jr., a member of the board, to serve as interim CEO, as it launches a national search for Mugrauer’s successor.

Mugrauer, who assumed his position at the Authority in July 2007, will join the Sellersville, Pa-based Penn Foundation, as its new chief executive. The Penn Foundation provides mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse services for children, adults and institutions located primarily in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, in Pennsylvania.

According to Robert W. Bogle, chair of the Hospitals and Higher Education Facilities Authority’s board, Mugrauer has served the Authority and its clients exceptionally well during his three-year tenure. “Over his tenure, we developed a great sense of confidence in the way in which Wayne Mugrauer managed our operations. We expect that he will make an equally creditable contribution at the Penn Foundation. In the meantime, we do not expect that there will be any lack of continuity in the quality of our services under Jim Baker, as we complete our national search.”

Established in 1974, The Hospitals and Higher Education Facilities Authority offers low-interest, long-term, tax-exempt financing to non-profit hospitals and to secondary higher education facilities. Over the past 10 years, the Authority has facilitated 27 such financings, averaging more than $60 million, each.

Mental Health Association of Rockland County Teams with CogniFit to Receive Most Innovative Mental Health Association Recognition

Mental Health Association of Rockland County Teams with CogniFit to Receive Most Innovative Mental Health Association Recognition

“Smart Brain, Strong Brain, Fit Brain” Project Takes 4th Place Overall for SharpBrains Brain Fitness Innovation Competition

New York (PRWEB) June 3, 2010

CogniFit™, Inc., a leading maker of brain fitness software (http://www. cognifit. com/products/cognifit)(http://www. cognifit. com (http://www. cognifit. com)), announced today that the Mental Health Association (MHA) of Rockland County was named “Most Innovative Mental Health Association” and was a finalist in the SharpBrains 2010 Brain Fitness Innovation Awards for its “Smart Brain, Strong Brain, Fit Brain” project. The Brain Fitness Innovation Awards seek to honor the best and most innovative brain activity programs in the country. The MHA of Rockland County project, which was made possible by a contribution from CogniFit and a grant from the New York State Department for the Aging, took fourth place out of 40 competing projects. The United States Hockey Association took first place in the competition.

CogniFit and longevity expert Adriane Berg joined forces to create the ground-breaking Smart Brain, Strong Brain, Fit Brain cognitive fitness program for the MHA of Rockland County in October 2009, aiming to help seniors in the Rockland County region sharpen their mental abilities, improving their overall well-being. Through this project, 500 residents from Rockland County between the ages of 62 and 90 are participating in an 18-month brain training program using CogniFit Personal Coach (http://www. cognifit. com/products/cognifit/cognifit-personal-coach) software.

“I feel like we are the ‘mouse that roared,’ winning such high honors in the company of the United States Hockey Association (the grand prize winner) and two of the nation’s largest insurance companies (sharing second and third prize),” said Dr. Karen Oates, Director of the Mental Health Association who manages the Project. “This recognition proves that the older adult and our approach to this community are clearly in the national interest. This Project promotes Rockland County to the forefront of age-friendly venues because it provides a structure for educating residents to maintain lifelong mental wellness and cognitive engagement helping to support healthy aging.”

“We knew that we were doing something that hadn’t been seen before when we first started the project,” said Berg. “To have it recognized by SharpBrains, who is such an authority on brain fitness, is exciting and an honor. Hopefully this will lead to more awareness for brain fitness, and other counties developing similar programs down the road.”

CogniFit Personal Coach provides scientifically validated cognitive training (http://www. cognifit. com/products/cognifit). Unlike many programs that use only basic information such as age and gender to develop a training program, CogniFit Personal Coach begins with a baseline assessment to gauge the user’s mental strengths and weaknesses. Users then engage in exercises designed to train their brain in the most effective way possible. The training is highly personalized and tailored to meet the specific needs of individuals, continually adjusting to deliver a training level that is optimal for the user; challenging, but not so difficult that the user abandons their training.

The SharpBrains 2010 Brain Fitness Awards were presented on May 24, 2010 by CEO Alvaro Fernandez. Projects were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges.

About the Mental Health Association of Rockland County

NACDS Pharmacy and Technology Conference Focuses on Reform

NACDS Pharmacy and Technology Conference Focuses on Reform

Chairman Giancamilli Renews Commitment to Innovation - Former NACDS Staff Member Len DeMino, RPh Recognized

Alexandria, VA (Vocus) August 11, 2009

This year's National Association of Chain Drug Stores (http://www. nacds. org) (NACDS) Pharmacy and Technology Conference taking place this week in Boston, Massachusetts has focused extensively on the healthcare reform debate. During the 52nd annual Conference, experts in pharmacy, healthcare, government and economics are conducting in-depth presentations on the current situation, and the role of pharmacy in a "reformed" future.

As part of the first Business Program of the Conference on Sunday, NACDS Chairman of the Board Andy Giancamilli, Chief Executive Office for Katz Group North America, including Snyders Drug Stores in the U. S. and Rexall Pharma Plus in Canada, called for policymakers to recognize that pharmacy is in a continuous state of healthcare reform through the innovations that it brings about. He also encouraged attendees to commit to further innovation in the face of the current economic conditions.

Pharmacy's future - one which fully integrates electronic-prescribing, electronic health record management, medication therapy management (MTM), and health and wellness solutions - was illustrated throughout Giancamilli's speech.

"So, today I ask you: what is your moon, and what are you doing to reach it?" Giancamilli asked, referencing President Kennedy's inspirational speech in 1961 calling for a manned lunar landing and successful return to earth before the decade's end.

"I ask this question out of a burning desire to see pharmacy achieve its full potential, for the ultimate benefit of the public. And I admit a little self interest as well, because a rising tide indeed lifts all boats. And there is another reason I want to speak about innovation. It is to deliver a strong message to Washington, D. C. and to the state capitals. The profession and the industry of pharmacy that I know is one that is all about innovation, and that should be empowered to help deliver the accessible, affordable, high-quality, patient-centric care that they are pursuing.

"In my view, pharmacy, researchers, manufacturers, and related industries have been in the improvement business since birth. And through healthy competition, appropriate collaboration, and always a focus on making peoples' lives better, this trajectory of improvement has given us transformational reform."

Also sharing perspectives on healthcare reform on Sunday was former United States Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD), a political veteran and national policy expert on healthcare. Sen. Daschle provided a healthcare reform reality check, and an informative glimpse into the world of the legislative process and the process surrounding President Barack Obama's and Congress' goal of reforming our healthcare system. Daschle's remarks generated local media coverage about the healthcare reform debate. Click here to view the news segment (http://www. necn. com/Boston/Politics/2009/08/09/Former-Sen-Daschle-in-Boston/1249834816.html) on New England Cable News.

On Saturday, August 8, NACDS arranged the innovative "Meet the Rx Market" sessions, where hundreds of pharmacy-related retailers and suppliers met for a series of pre-arranged, 8-minute-long, introductory appointments to discuss new healthcare products, innovations and services. More than 80 different suppliers participated this year - potentially creating hundreds of new business partnerships for NACDS members.

NACDS also arranged 21 unique Continuing Education (CE) sessions for Conference attendees that will focus on pharmacy's future and the industry's emerging topics and issues - including pharmacy reimbursement rates, generics utilization, medication adherence, the role of pharmacy, and medication management.

In addition to the business and education programming, former NACDS vice president of pharmacy affairs Leonard J. DeMino, RPh, was honored with the UCB Leadership in Pharmacy Award. DeMino's leadership and actions over his more than 50-year career in pharmacy were recognized by his fellow pharmacy colleagues. UCB, Inc., which sponsored the award, will make a contribution in the amount of $10,000 in DeMino's name to the NACDS Foundation - continuing his legacy and again serving the greater good of the future of pharmacy and patient care.

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) represents traditional drug stores, supermarkets, and mass merchants with pharmacies. Its more than 160 chain member companies include regional chains with a minimum of four stores to national companies. NACDS members also include more than 1,000 suppliers of pharmacy and front-end products, and 85 international members representing 28 countries. Chains operate 39,000 pharmacies, and employ a total of more than 2.5 million employees, including 118,000 pharmacists. They fill more than 2.5 billion prescriptions yearly, and have annual sales of over $750 billion. For more information about NACDS, visit www. NACDS. org.

Statement of Need:
The 1st Annual Chairs in Psychiatry Summit brought together the leaders in psychiatry and other practicing physicians to review and discuss the latest research and treatment strategies in psychiatry. This groundbreaking summit included a keynote address, scientific presentations, and clinically focused workshops targeting both basic and advanced issues. The workshops covered a wide range of clinically relevant topics, including brain imaging, sleep, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, comorbid substance abuse, anxiety disorders, suicide, brain stimulation, depression, the role of genes in mental disorders, autism, and others.

This Meeting Highlights Clinical Navigator™ is offered as a means of addressing a variety of psychiatric conditions for clinicians who were unable to attend the live conference on June 27-29, 2008, and as a summary and refresher to those who were able to attend. Each section provides references and evidence that are key to translating the presentation content into data that is helpful in the clinic and improves patient care. Fordis and colleagues found that carefully designed, evidence-based online CME can produce objectively measured changes in behavior as well as gains in knowledge that are comparable to those associated with effective live activities.

In this evidence-based Meeting Highlight from the 1st Annual Chairs in Psychiatry Summit, psychiatrists and physicians have access to cutting-edge research, the latest clinical trial data, and expert opinions that, together, can help advance the practice of participants and improve patient outcomes.

Emirca to Develop KinexusÂ’ Web Reporting Engine and Wealth Management System

Emirca to Develop KinexusÂ’ Web Reporting Engine and Wealth Management System

Emirca Technologies, a global provider of Internet-based applications and software development, today announced that Kinexus, the market leader in the wealth management technology in the U. S., has appointed Emirca Technologies to develop its web reporting engine and wealth management system. This technology will enable Kinexus and advisors to give their most sophisticated and demanding clients a comprehensive, current, and accurate picture of their total worth – across institutions, asset classes, countries, and currencies - along with a range of value-added tools to help them make the most of their wealth.

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 12, 2004

Emirca Technologies, (http://www. emirca. com (http://www. emirca. com)), a global provider of Internet-based applications and software development, today announced that Kinexus, the market leader in the wealth management technology in the U.

Kinexus wants to streamline their daily batch report generation process which is proven to be time-costly and not scalable. There also is a need to better integrate their SMS (Subscriber Management Solution) software with the reporting engine as any single change to SMS records results in regeneration of the whole report batch.

Emirca will design a dynamic report and hierarchical tree generation engine in the back-end to feed the web front-end. This new system will be able to automatically refresh, based on updates made to SMS records and the reports will be generated upon request in realtime. Emirca will also engineer a performance enhancer allowing most frequently requested reports by individual users to be automatically generated in parallel as a separate process upon a userÂ’s login.

This technology will enable Kinexus and advisors to give their most sophisticated and demanding clients a comprehensive, current, and accurate picture of their total worth – across institutions, asset classes, countries, and currencies - along with a range of value-added tools to help them make the most of their wealth. It will also enable a smoother new customer integration process.

Healthcare Executives Find SmartDraw a Smart Alternative to Microsoft Visio&#174

Healthcare Executives Find SmartDraw a Smart Alternative to Microsoft Visio®

SmartDraw Sparking a Visual Communications Revolution in Healthcare

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 11, 2009

SmartDraw. com, maker of SmartDraw, the software that helps you work smarter by communicating visually, is sparking a visual communications revolution in healthcare, according to enthusiastic reviews the software garnered at the recent Health Care Compliance Association's 13th Annual Compliance Institute.

Among the most popular exhibits, SmartDraw demonstrated its easy-to-use software to hospital CEOs, compliance officers, IT managers, performance improvement teams and others eager to find a more user-friendly, less expensive alternative to Microsoft Visio® to visually document and standardize processes across hospital departments in order to meet regulatory requirements.

"We received so much support and enthusiasm for SmartDraw at the show from those responsible for documenting processes within a health system--many of whom are currently using MS Visio for flowcharting," said Todd Savitt, Chief Sales Officer for SmartDraw. com. "The fact that SmartDraw is much easier to use than Visio, draws for you (which Visio does not) has more functionality and templates than Visio, and costs far less than Visio convinced many people to choose SmartDraw for their health system."

SmartDraw is important for health systems because visual processes are more easily remembered and understood, with studies proving that people remember 10 percent of what they hear, 2 percent of what they read, and fully 80 percent of what they see and do. SmartDraw enables anyone from the IT department to nursing to translate complex processes into compelling, professional-quality process flows, organizational charts, and other diagrams in minutes and without any special training.

More than 1,400 hospitals and healthcare systems across the U. S. depend on SmartDraw's flowcharts and organizational charting functionality to:
Simplify, clarify and standardize healthcare processes  Efficiently and effectively document an organizational structure  Prepare and educate staff for surprise compliance inspections  Improve compliance with regulatory bodies and accreditation programs

SmartDraw (www. smartdraw. com) works seamlessly with Microsoft Office, allowing one-click export to MS PowerPoint®, Word®, Excel® and other applications, making it easy to share graphics with others in plans, reports, and presentations.

"SmartDraw has ignited a visual communications revolution in healthcare," added Savitt. "We appreciate the opportunity to make a positive difference in the way healthcare systems communicate important processes."

Illinois Dental Office Puts a New Twist on Raising Funds for a Worthy Cause: Collecting Dental Scraps

Illinois Dental Office Puts a New Twist on Raising Funds for a Worthy Cause: Collecting Dental Scraps

Chicago-based Manus Dental office raises funds for a local food pantry by collecting valuable dental scraps from patients.

(PRWEB) June 12, 2002

BROOKFIELD, IL— A local dentist office has created a whole new way of raising funds for a worthy cause: replacing dental fillings.

Dr. James L. Bergschneider and Dr. Michael Wince of Manus Dental’s Brookfield, Ill. office have been collecting dental scraps – gold, silver, and palladium materials – from patient’s mouths for the past 12 months for what they call the "Sister Margaret Fund."

The scraps, which together weighed half a pound, were sent to a Pennsylvania metals refinery, which paid $267 for the materials. When refined, these materials totaled about one half ounce of precious metal.

Dr. Bergschneider, who was raised in Brookfield and who has run his dental practice in the town since 1970, came up with the idea of raising the funds using refinery proceeds when he heard about a local nun, Sister Margaret HalliganÂ’s efforts to help less fortunate people at her Brookfield-based Sunnyside Place Food Pantry.

"Sister Margaret has been a big part of this community for a long time and has helped a lot of people and I thought that this was a good way to help her cause," said Bergschneider.

Most people have no idea that their old fillings, bridges, and crowns are valuable. Materials recovered from one personÂ’s mouth donÂ’t amount to much, but when combined with many other patientsÂ’ materials, the metals can become very valuable. With Gold and Palladium prices currently at around $350 an ounce on the New York Stock Exchange, the value of the materials can add up. The refined product goes right back out into market place, according to Josh Garfield, Marketing Manager of Garfield Refining Company in Philadelphia, Penn. The materials are used for a diverse range of products, from consumer products, such as jewelry and electronics, to automotives to industrials.

Manus Health Systems Inc., a healthcare services company that has provided management support for Dr. BergschneiderÂ’s dental practice since 2000, matched the payment Philadelphia-based Garfield Refining Company made, making for a total contribution of $534 to the Sister Margaret fund.

"Sister Margaret runs a very important community organization. We felt that it was important to match the effort that patients, Dr. Bergschneider and Dr. Wince were putting in to raising funds by matching those funds," said E. F. (Skip) Heizer, CEO of Manus Health.

Sister MargaretÂ’s operation, which she began in 1980 from 4-drawer file cabinet in her St. Barbara Parish office, has grown over the years to serve 120 families from its current three-room location at 4039 Sunnyside in Brookfield.

"There are all different kinds of people who come here. There are some single folks who have special needs—maybe they’re on disability or maybe they’re just having a hard time. Some are homeless. Many are working and have families. We give the homeless bagged lunches and some basic medications. Families come in once a month and get about $100 worth of groceries. We’re kind of fussy about giving people a balanced variety of food," said Halligan, who turns 75 this week.

Like Dr. Bergschneider, Halligan grew up in the area and feels a commitment to its people. Halligan said that she doesnÂ’t often get cash donations and that those help her customize her services for those with special needs, such as allergies or diabetes.

"It helps so much to have a financial donation. When I get one, I think great; itÂ’s enough for a monthÂ’s rent. Most of the donations that we get are in-kind. So, a cash donation really allows us to pick up some special items that cost money," said Halligan.

Bergschneider and Wince plan to continue collecting for the Sister Margaret fund by continuing to give patients the option to donate their dental materials. In addition, individuals can donate other valuable metals, such as old jewelry, to the fund by dropping them off at their office, located at 8908 Ogden Avenue in Brookfield.

"I hope that this contribution allows sister Margaret to continue doing the work that sheÂ’s doing or even expand the reach that she has I kind of hope that I am the beginning of a new trend I would hope that my colleagues would be willing to do this as well." said Bergschneider.

To contribute old jewelry or other valuable materials to the Sister Margaret Fund or to get more information, call Wanda Marinic at 847-283-8700, ext. 207.

ICRco Donates a CR to Service Thousands of People in Rural Honduras

ICRco donated a turnkey computed radiography system to be used in a remote clinic in rural Honduras. Thousands of Hondurans will now have access to proper medical diagnoses

Torrance, CA (PRWEB) March 8, 2010

iCRco donated a turnkey computed radiography system to be used in a remote clinic in rural Honduras. Thousands of Hondurans will now have access to proper medical diagnoses and treatments due to the joint efforts by iCRco, Shoulder to Shoulder organization and many other vendors that made this project a reality.

Inauguration of the clinic took place February 20th, 2010 with participation of community leaders, international volunteers and guests in Concepcion, Intibuca in Honduras. The CR system donated by iCRco was a critical part to the success of the clinic.

Private non-profits Shoulder to Shoulder and Hombro a Hombro work in tandem to achieve a single mission: to develop educational and health programs to help poor, rural communities in Honduras, achieve sustainable development and improve the overall health and well being of its residents. Presently, they provide primary health care and community support to over 25,000 people with clinics at four sites and provide meals to more than 2,000 children each day.

“This project was important to iCRco to be a partner in considering we have been growing in Latin America rapidly, and it is imperative to give back to communities that are in need. We believe it is a strong principle in good American business to give back, and Shoulder to Shoulder is a respectable organization that matches well with iCRco values” stated Mark Valentine, President and COO of iCRco.

ICRco has recently been named the only CR manufacturer to be rated “A” by KLAS in sales, service and technology fields and scored 100% for customer satisfaction in software functionality.

Rapid Insight Launches New Business Intelligence Technology

Rapid Insight Launches New Business Intelligence Technology

New product puts business intelligence in the hands of many and makes data easier to work with.

Conway, NH (PRWEB) March 17, 2010

Rapid Insight Inc. today announced the launch of a revolutionary new software technology for working with data. Veera, available as a release candidate since January, is the next generation of Rapid Insight® business intelligence software (http://www. rapidinsightinc. com/veera). Building upon an earlier Rapid Insight product, Data Integration 2.0, Veera’s enhanced toolset empowers users to overcome common barriers to data access, ad-hoc analysis, and report generation, providing organizations with armies of data-driven decision makers.

“Veera has provided us with optimum flexibility in providing information to our customers and has made it significantly easier to manage our data warehouse reporting initiatives,” said Richard Ward, a Business Analyst with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. “Within the first hour of loading the software, I was connecting to our Oracle and Access databases and creating reports. Within the first week, it changed the way that we were looking at our data. Within the first month, it opened up new possibilities that we hadn’t even thought of prior to our using the software.”

Powered by Rapid Insight Dataflo3G™ technology, Veera’s drag-and-drop analytic process builder enables users of all abilities to quickly produce reports and create analytic datasets by merging, aggregating, cleansing, and transforming data from formats as disparate as Excel, Access, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and text. Data and reporting requirements are constantly changing. Veera makes it easy for non-programmers to quickly change yesterday’s processes to meet tomorrow’s needs – all without fear of corrupting the original data.

“Whether for ad-hoc analysis, enterprise reporting, or complex predictive analytics (http://www. rapidinsightinc. com), data can be a pain in the neck to work with,” says Michael Laracy, Rapid Insight’s Founder and CEO. “There has always been a large, unfilled gap between the complex analytic tools that require teams of programmers, and the simpler technologies like spreadsheets and pivot tables which enable large numbers of users to analyze their data. By filling this gap, we plan to change the way that people and organizations utilize their data. Ultimately, this will have a significant impact on the speed at which companies are able to make data-driven decisions. Rapid Insight aims to increase the analytic capabilities of organizations as simply and affordably as possible.”

“Data reports no longer haunt me in my sleep,” says Scott Alessandro of the MIT Sloan School of Management. “I can give a data answer as quickly as my Director can change the question. She thinks I’m brilliant.”

Board-Certified Podiatrist Says Many Gardeners to Experience Foot Pain This Season

Board-Certified Podiatrist Says Many Gardeners to Experience Foot Pain This Season

Many gardeners will experience foot pain this season as a result of overlooking the needs of their feet. But a few minutes of preparation and good common sense can keep gardeners comfortable all season long. Board-certified podiatrist Dr. Paul Kasdan, medical director for OurHealthNetwork. com (http://www. OurHealthNetwork. com), offers foot fitness tips for healthy, pain-free gardening.

Des Plaines, IL (PRWEB) May 2, 2008

Many gardeners will experience foot pain this season as a result of overlooking the needs of their feet. But a few minutes of preparation and good common sense can keep gardeners comfortable all season.

"Gardening is an exertive weight-bearing activity and should be considered a sport rather than a passive hobby," said Dr. Paul R. Kasdan, a board-certified podiatrist and medical director for OurHealthNetwork. com (http://www. OurHealthNetwork. com (http://www. OurHealthNetwork. com)). "As with any sport, one should make sure to wear appropriate foot gear, and to properly stretch before engaging in the activity."

During weight-bearing activities or sports, the feet play an important role in supporting weight, balancing stance to reduce falls, and movement. They also act as shock absorbers. Foot problems commonly associated with weight-bearing activities like gardening are usually due to wearing inappropriate footgear, or the lack of proper warm-up exercises.

"To always be pain-free, the feet must be encased in the proper shoes and socks. If the shoes do not provide proper support and cushioning, then the feet lose efficiency and problems eventually occur," Dr. Kasdan said. Here are a few of Dr. Kasdan's shoe and sock recommendations:
A rounded-toe shoe with a deep toe box helps prevent pain due to corns and bunions, ripped and black toenails, toe blisters, and ingrown toenails. Rubber soles prevent bruises when stepping on stones, and they provide good shock absorption for the entire body. Loose socks with mild elastic compression at the top will ensure good circulation to the feet. Socks made of a lycra and cotton blend are very efficient at keeping the feet cool and wicking sweat off the feet. Before doing any work in the garden, take a few minutes to stretch your feet. Get ready for physical exertion! Dr. Kasdan recommends two exercises:

1. Lunge exercise to stretch the Achilles Tendon: Facing a wall, stand about three feet out and lean onto the surface with arms shoulder-width apart. Keeping your back straight, move your right foot toward the wall until it is about one-and-one-half feet away. With your left foot straight, bend the right foot until you feel a stretch in the Achilles Tendon. Hold this position for 15 seconds and repeat with other leg. Repeat several times.

2. Ankle rotation: Sitting on a chair, extend your right foot and rotate your toes toward you. Hold for five seconds. Then to the right, down and to the left, holding each position for five seconds. Rotate your ankle in a complete circle. Do this for one to two minutes with each foot.

"We recommend this warm-up routine for our patients that garden and have found it to be effective in preventing symptoms associated with 'out of shape' feet," Dr. Kasdan said.

Gardeners are also encouraged to give their feet attention at the end of the day. To prevent additional foot problems, Dr. Kasdan advises his patients to wash their feet well and examine them for blisters, sores and inflamed areas. Should these conditions arise, treat them immediately with first-aid cream, or see a podiatrist. More information about these conditions and more than 50 other conditions that commonly affect the feet and ankles is available at http://www. OurHealthNetwork. com (http://www. OurHealthNetwork. com).

Also, remove the inner-soles of shoes and let them dry out. With more than 250,000 sweat glands in each foot, feet are among the most perspiring parts of the body. In one day, the feet can produce more than a pint of sweat.

Foot Problems which May Be Associated with Gardening:
Bruised toenails and ingrown toenails may be due to:
1. stubbing a toe or dropping a heavy object on it.
2. wearing a shoe that is too short.
3. wearing a shoe with a shallow or narrow toe box (the area where the toes sit in a shoe is called the toe box). When the toe box is too shallow or too narrow, the toenail/toenails will rub against the top or sides of the toe box, and may become bruised or ingrown.
4. cutting the toenails too short or rounded may produce ingrown toenails (the nails should be cut straight across, and always let them be a comfortable length).
5. kneeling for long periods of time will put abnormal pressure on the toes and toenails; this may cause bruising.
6. socks act as a cushion and reduce friction on the toes and feet. Not wearing socks allows the toenails to be exposed to unnecessary friction; this may cause bruising.

Swelling may be due to:
1. gravity is the most common cause of swelling of the feet and ankles. When the legs are in a dependent position (standing or sitting), gravity pulls blood and our lymph fluids down to our feet and ankles. This swelling can be reduced with the use of compression or support stockings.
2. socks which have elastic on the ankles may cause swelling by restricting the normal flow of blood and lymph fluids.
3. uncontrolled high blood pressure.
4. high heat and humidity. If you are working in this type of climate, then take frequent "cooling breaks," and sit with your legs elevated.
5. too much salt can cause water retention and swelling of the feet and ankles.

Foot and toe cramps may be caused by:
1. kneeling for long periods of time. This may reduce circulation to the feet and toes by constricting blood vessels, causing muscles to become oxygen starved, and this leads to cramps (muscle spasms). Getting up frequently and walking will help to prevent this.
2. socks and shoes that are too constrictive may cause cramps for the same reason. Make sure that the elastic on your socks is not too constrictive. Make sure that shoes are the right size.
3. being "out of shape" and stressing leg and foot muscles for long periods of time may cause cramps. Gardening is exertive. Build-up the time you spend gardening gradually, and stretch your legs often.

Throbbing and aching feet may be caused by:
1. too much weight-bearing activity for you, either due to physical problems (overweight, age, illness, etc.) or "being out of shape."
2. worn down shoes, or shoes that do not fit properly.
3. foot pathology such as bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, etc.

More information about these conditions and more than 50 other conditions that commonly affect the feet and ankles is available at http://www. OurHealthNetwork. com (http://www. OurHealthNetwork. com).
