NeoCells, LLC Announces a Limited Time Offer of $995 for Cord Blood Banking

NeoCells, LLC Announces a Limited Time Offer of $995 for Cord Blood Banking

Private cord blood banking has been growing in popularity due to the amazing advancements being made in the field of adult stem cells. NeoCells, LLC, announces a limited time offer of $995 pricing for enrollment in their umbilical cord blood banking program.

Evanston, IL (PRWEB) September 19, 2007

NeoCells, LLC today announced special pricing of $995 for enrollment in their umbilical cord blood banking (http://neocells. com) program. This fee includes their proprietary UmbiliCord® cord blood collection kit, testing, processing and cryopreservation of the cord blood (http://www. neocells. com/html/pricing. html) specimen. Annual storage is $95 and is locked-in at this price under the current contract. This is a limited time offer and expires on September 30, 2007.

Private cord blood banking (http://www. neocells. com) has been growing in popularity recently due to the amazing advancements being made in the field of adult stem cells. Many blood related diseases have been treated for years and currently much successful research is being completed in the area of diabetes and heart disease. The number of stem cells collected at the time of birth and their viability are directly related to their ability to treat disorders in the future. As a result of this concern, NeoCells has implemented state-of-the-art, functionally closed bag processing systems. These systems eliminate unnecessary manual handling, extra cell washings and limits air contamination. These factors result in higher stem cell viability percentages upon recovery. "We are very proud to be able to bring this type of quality to the public at such an affordable price," says Daniel Pugh of ViviCells International, LLC.

In addition to NeoCells' announcement of this special pricing, they are also announcing their proprietary Umbilicord® Collection Kit which is the industry's first and only return cord blood specimen kit that has been tested and certified by an independent laboratory and has met all the International Air Transport Association (IATA) transportation requirements.

The combination of these two announcements makes NeoCells one of the industry's highest quality cord blood banking (http://www. neocells. com) companies with affordable pricing for young expectant families.

Tuan Ha-Ngoc Joins GenPath Pharmaceuticals as CEO; Dr. Steven Clark Joins as CSO

Tuan Ha-Ngoc Joins GenPath Pharmaceuticals as CEO; Dr. Steven Clark Joins as CSO

(PRWEB) June 29, 2002

Cambridge, MA, June 26, 2002 – GenPath Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a developer of medicines to treat cancer and other genetic diseases, announced today that Tuan Ha-Ngoc and Dr. Steven Clark, former senior executives at Wyeth and Genetics Institute (GI), have joined the privately held company as President and Chief Executive Officer, and as Chief Scientific Officer, respectively.

At Genetics Institute, Ha-Ngoc and Dr. Clark were members of a small executive team who over a 14-year period created and then, executed GIÂ’s strategic vision, building one of the first commercially successful companies in the history of biotechnology. Ha-NgocÂ’s responsibilities included partnering and commercializing GIÂ’s significant intellectual property base in biotherapeutics, including several significant strategic partnerships with major European and Japanese pharmaceutical companies and the set-up of GIÂ’s own sales force, while in tandem, Dr. ClarkÂ’s focus was both building an extensive base of scientific assets as well as the discovery of several novel cytokines and growth factors. As a result of their work, several first-in-class products advanced not only into clinical development but also through FDA approval, including BeneFix R (recombinant Factor IX) and Neumega R (recombinant IL-11). In particular, the two established the DiscoverEase program, one of the first genomic programs targeted at secreted proteins.

Ha-Ngoc has 26 years of worldwide experience in the healthcare industry, primarily in the biotechnology sector but also in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, and Information Technology areas. For most of his career, he served as Executive Vice President at Genetics Institute and was responsible for Corporate Development, Commercial Operations, European Operations, and Japanese Operations. During his GI tenure, he also led a range of programs including Tissue Growth & Repair R&D, Technical and Regulatory Affairs, Legal Affairs, Investor Relations, and Project Management. Upon acquisition of GI by American Home Products Corporation (now Wyeth), he assumed the position of Corporate Vice President and was responsible for Corporate Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management, Wyeth-Ayerst Global Business Development, and Genetics InstituteÂ’s genomics research platform, DiscoverEase. In recent years, he was co-founder and President & CEO of deNovis, Inc., an enterprise-scale software development company for the automation of healthcare administrative functions. His early career began at Baxter Healthcare in the area of medical devices. Mr. Ha-Ngoc received his MBA degree from INSEAD and his MasterÂ’s degree in Pharmacy at the University of Paris, France. He served on the Board of Fellows, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and on the Board of Directors of ArQule, Inc. (a publicly-traded biotech company), Phylos, Inc. (a private biotech company) and the International Institute of Boston (a non-profit organization).

Dr. Clark joins GenPath Pharmaceuticals after 21 years of experience in drug discovery with Genetics Institute and Wyeth Research, bringing together unique expertise in both protein and small-molecule therapeutics. For the last four years, Dr. Clark was Sr. Vice President of the combined discovery organizations of Wyeth and GI with responsibility for 1400 scientists working in six different therapeutic areas. During his tenure, Dr. ClarkÂ’s group delivered many clinical candidates to the R&D pipeline, including both proteins and small molecules. A founding scientist at Genetics Institute in 1981, he was the Vice President of Discovery Research for Genetics Institute from 1989 until 1997. He established GIÂ’s successful hematopoiesis program and pioneered the use of functional expression cloning for the isolation of genes for cytokines, growth factors, and their receptors. Among the cytokines cloned in his laboratory included GM-CSF, IL-3, IL-9, IL-11 and IL-12. Dr. Clark did his graduate work in molecular biology at Harvard University with Dr. Richard Losick and post doctoral work with Dr. Paul Berg at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

GenPath employs powerful, proprietary genetic model systems to discover and develop drugs against essential targets critical to the origin, maintenance, and spread of malignant tumors. This novel, high-throughput in-vivo pathway technology platform enables the rapid functional prioritization of only the most relevant drug targets, thus dramatically improving the efficiency of drug discovery. In addition, when coupled with high-throughput genomics and bioinformatics, this platform is designed to enhance drug development through the identification of novel biomarkers as surrogate efficacy endpoints. Beyond oncology, GenPathÂ’s technologies are broadly applicable to other disease states, including cardiovascular, metabolic and neurodegenerative disorders. New York City, NY (PRWEB) April 24, 2007

ExerciseRadio. com, the Free Health and Fitness Podcast Network is quietly making groundbreaking use of the podcast in a new way. Finding itself featured in iTunes top 20 Health & Nutrition Category was a godsend, but made it tough for the tiny operation to keep up with the demands for new content. The decision to invite other content providers was made and in the process stumbled upon a strategy that's turned into real income. Call it Podcast 'Edutising': free informational podcasts as effective marketing tools that don't turn off website members.

"We've found our members purchase content they've discovered in our podcasts from some of our providers because they've already gained something they found useful, in effect... they've already become 'customers'. We never expected to be able to offer content providers this unique opportunity. We simply wanted to put forth useful podcasts that had information value to our members, we never expected to do more than break even with some Google clicks. We're very psyched, as it's a win-win for everyone." says Terri Walsh, Celebrity Personal Trainer and Owner of ExerciseRadio. com.

ExerciseRadio. com has formed strategic partnerships with Palm Pictures and The Hypnosis Network soon featuring video podcasts from The New York City Ballet, audio podcasts from The Hypnosis Network, amongst a myriad of other workouts, yoga podcasts, tips, nutritional information, recipes, strength training, offered in text based articles on the website as well as the audio and video podcast format. All the content is free to registered members of the site.

This represents a groundroots innovative opportunity for health, fitness, exercise, nutrition or self-development content providers to offer 'useful bits' of their content to the general public in a non-threatening format. The customer gets a usable and functional sample of information and establishes a relationship to the provider through a trusted source. 'We are very selective, the content has to be USEFUL above all else, well done, factual, and be of essential interest to our members, says Walsh. We don't want infomercials, it's unnecessary anyway, our members are too savvy for that."

From a business perspective ExerciseRadio. com is making the podcast effective, informative as well as revenue-producing.

Bright Minds LLC is proud to announce the release of "Little Kicks", a 45-minute physically and mentally challenging fitness program for children ages 3 and older. Working Mom Works Out the Problem of Childhood Obesity!

A Solution Does Exist.

SAN ANTONIO, TX – As a result of the success of "Little Kicks - 100% Pure Fun", Bright Minds LLC is proud to announce the release of "Volume 2 - Bring it on", now available on VHS and DVD. A 45-minute fitness program for children ages 3 and older, the videos are designed to be physically and mentally challenging. Led by a professional fitness trainer, youngsters go through progressively difficult routines, receiving encouragement and motivation to persevere along the way. "This is a healthy way for family and friends to stay fit together," says Tina Blumenthal, the working mother of three who developed "Little Kicks" to satisfy her children’s need for physical activity.

The problem of childhood obesity has grown to perilous proportions! According to the American Heart Association, more than 15 percent of our children between the ages of 6 and 19 are overweight or obese. "Today's kids are facing an epidemic of obesity and diseases that used to strike only adults. And it's almost all due to a lack of physical activity," says Blumenthal. Now is the time to make our children's health our priority. If not, according to Dr. Harold Goldstein, executive director of the California Center for Public Health Advocacy in Davis: "We are sitting on a time bomb."

The "Little Kicks" program includes warm up, workout, and cool-down periods, with a water break between each segment. "Volume 2 - Bring it on" presents some new challenges and moves. Recognized by leading physicians, hospitals and educators, Dr. Margaret Neiheisel, a San Antonio pediatrician, says "Little Kicks" can provide important health benefits. "Any aerobic exercise that gets a child's heart rate up is going to help keep them healthy, and that can help prevent problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure," she explains.

Available for $14.95, "Little Kicks" fitness programs are offered online at www. littlekicks. com, or by calling Bright Minds LLC at 1-866-YOU-KICK (1-866-968-5425.) Isn't it time your children had a kick start to healthier habits?

83% Do Not Trust the Social Security Administration Will Handle Their Social Security Disability Claim Fairly

83% Do Not Trust the Social Security Administration Will Handle Their Social Security Disability Claim Fairly

A poll taken by the website Ultimate Disability Guide asked the question, "Do you trust the Social Security Administration to handle your Social Security Disability claim fairly?" 83% of the people responded "no".

Oakland, NJ (PRWEB) September 9, 2009

A poll taken by Ultimate Disability Guide, a Social Security Disability information website (http://www. ultimatedisabilityguide. com) authored by attorney Karl Kazmierczak of Kazmierczak & Kazmierczak, LLP a disability law firm (http://www. kazmierczaklaw. com), asked the question, "Do you feel the Social Security Administration will handle your Social Security disability claim fairly?"

The response was astounding. Eighty three (83) percent of the responses to the yes/no question were No; they do not trust the Social Security Administration to handle their claim fairly. At the time of this release 389 people had responded. When such a huge majority of people do not trust the government to handle their disability claim, it simply cannot be ignored.

Improving the Social Security disability process is probably the best way to regain the people's confidence. To this end, recently Social Security has spent quite a bit of money and effort to improve the system. However, it also appears as if the SSA should also invest some time and money in public relations.

Many improvements have been made over the last few years to the Social Security Disability process. However, these improvements appear to be going unnoticed by the public. Part of this mistrust of the Social Security Administration might be the reality that the money used to pay Social Security benefits is running out quickly and the issue of how to fix this continues to be avoided by politicians. Another contributing factor may be that most claims take a long time to be decided. Despite the improvements in the Social Security Disability process (http://www. ultimatedisabilityguide. com/disability_process. html) wait times are still long in large part due to an increase in the number of claims. It is apparent that the improvements have not been publicized enough to improve the public opinion of the Social Security Administration and how their disability claims are handled.

According to the author of the website who posted the poll, Karl Kazmierczak, Esq., "although some may disagree with me, I feel the Social Security Administration is probably the best run government agency with an extremely difficult job but they need to do a better job of assuring the public that their claims will be handled fairly."

The domestic issue grabbing most of the present attention of the media and politicians is the healthcare system. However, an issue which is related in many ways but seems to have been put on the back burner, as usual, is the Social Security system. In this time of recession, unemployment levels are high and many of those losing their jobs are older or persons with disabilities, the exact people who will utilize the Social Security System. The recession coupled with the baby boomer generation aging means that more disability claims are being filed than ever before and the disabled need to be assured that their claim will be handled fairly by the Social Security Administration. Most employees pay into the Social Security system their entire lives and count on their Social Security for their retirement or in the event they become disabled. Maybe the politicians should address the current fears and perceptions of the people's retirement or disability nest egg before addressing any new gigantic problems. It is apparent that the Social Security Administration should find ways to inform the public to improve their opinion.

It is clear from the poll that many people are concerned about the fairness of their Social Security claims. The Administration has made changes to address these issues however, it seems they need to step up the public relations aspect and do a better job of publicizing their improvements and make stronger efforts to get the public's trust in the Social Security Disability system. If you would like to take the poll you can find it at Ultimate Disability Guide (http://www. ultimatedisabilityguide. com).

Demolition Doesn't Mean Destruction - 1870's Railroad Shop Gets new Life

Demolition Doesn't Mean Destruction - 1870's Railroad Shop Gets new Life

Pioneer Millworks recently salvaged 50,000 board feet of antique heart pine and white pine timbers from the old Delaware & Hudson Rail Car Maintenance Shop in Oneonta, NY -- part of the railroad yard that was once home to the world's largest roundhouse.

Farmington, NY (PRWEB) January 7, 2009

Farmington, NY -- Pioneer Millworks recently salvaged 50,000 board feet of antique heart pine and white pine timbers from the old Delaware & Hudson Rail Car Maintenance Shop in Oneonta, NY -- part of the railroad yard that was once home to the world's largest roundhouse.

"When you stop and think about the history of this wood, you begin to see why it's so prized: these timbers were cut in the late 1800's from trees that probably started to grow in the 1600s. Now, after 140 years supporting this historical railroad structure, these Heart Pine and White Pine timbers will begin a new life as eco-friendly flooring, paneling, and millwork for residential and commercial structures," says Jered Slusser, wood expert at Pioneer Millworks (and Delaware & Hudson train geek).

Pioneer Millworks is renowned for reclaiming antique wood from old industrial buildings like the Delaware & Hudson shops. The timber used to build these structures in the 1800s are no longer available (such as Heart Pine and Chestnut) because the forests are now gone. Tighter growth rings, greater stability and deeper patinas are just a few advantages of these old growth species. Pioneer Millworks painstakingly recovered the antique timbers in an effort to keep a piece of history from being buried in a landfill or burned. Once at the mill, the timbers will be scanned for nails and other metal artifacts, then planed into planks for tongue and groove flooring (solid or engineered), ceilings or other hand crafted millwork.

The Delaware & Hudson railroad was one of the oldest transportation companies in the country. It began in 1828 as a canal company operating from Honesdale, PA to Kingston, NY. After constructing its first railroad line in 1868, the D & H became known as "The Bridge Line", linking central Pennsylvania with Canada. As the railroad grew, so did the need for centralized maintenance facilities. Thus in the 1870s, the company built the roundhouse and shops in Oneonta. The Delaware & Hudson Roundhouse was known to be the largest in the world. Centralized maintenance facilities like the shops that supported it kept D&H railroad cars running smoothly through the mid 1990's. Today, the railroad is owned by Canadian Pacific and has since closed down large facilities like this, opting instead for new, consolidated shops in major cities.

If you're interested in owning a piece of American history, wood with character, beauty, and a story, visit www. pioneermillworks. com or call us at 800-951-9663.

As our name reflects, Pioneer Millworks was a pioneer in the salvaged and reclaimed antique wood industry. We're proud that we give this old wood new life as flooring, millwork, cabinetry, and more. And, we do it all here in the USA, in a way that's healthy for you, our employees, and the environment. Our 13-acre upstate, NY facility runs on 100% wind power, bio-diesel, and scrap wood. Our products offer ecologically conscious homeowners, designers, and builders an alternative to non-sustainable flooring without compromising quality, character, or selection. Pioneer Millworks is a FSC certified and LEED point eligible. www. pioneermillworks. com or call 1-800-951-Wood.

May 31, World No Tobacco Day - A Cold Turkey Invite

May 31, World No Tobacco Day - A Cold Turkey Invite

Although the World Health Organization sees Monday, May 31 as a day to contemplate not using tobacco, the average smoker sees it as a day to tune-out, turn-off and temporarily hide behind their thick protective wall of denial rationalizations. But for those brave enough to briefly peer over the top it could become the most liberating day of their addicted life.

(PRWEB) May 31, 2004

World No Tobacco Day 2004 will bring thousands of dreamers to the Internet where theyÂ’ll find it awash with every quick fix magic cure imaginable. Like some thousand item cyber quitting buffet, which product, procedure, program, book, disc, chemical, service or magic herb should they buy?

According to www. WhyQuit. com, "none" because, like Dorothy trapped in Oz, theyÂ’ve always had the ability to return home. But will they learn to believe in themselves while there's still time?

Unique among Internet quitting destinations, WhyQuit is the only major forum that not only tells quitters to keep their money in their pockets but which has steadfastly refused donations.

An all-volunteer labor of love recording two million hits monthly, WhyQuit contends that although no smoker is stronger than nicotine that they donÂ’t need to be so long as they are smarter. Considering that nicotine is simply a chemical with an I. Q. of zero, this should not pose a problem for any smoker.

Established in July 1999 as a mind expanding motivational site, WhyQuit quickly evolved into a multifaceted nicotine dependency educational institution. Today its centerpiece is a large library of original quitting articles containing the thirty-two year seminar and clinic insights of the Internet's most quoted nicotine cessation counselor, Joel Spitzer of Chicago.

Affectionately dubbed "Joel's Library" by quitters, its lessons are taught and shared not only at "Freedom" -- WhyQuit's free peer support education forum -- but at almost all major quit smoking forums across the Internet.

A core recovery philosophy of "no nicotine just one day at a time," today Freedom graduates some of the most knowledgable ex-smokers on earth.

WhyQuit encourages all smokers to be brave this World No Tobacco Day and spend a few minutes briefly sampling the juice of understanding. Knowledge is power and there was always only one rule - no nicotine just one day at a time, "Never Take Another Puff." Yes you can!

Controlling Constipation the Natural Way: Ancient Asian Remedy Provides Healthy Alternative to Laxatives

If you suffer from chronic constipation, you are most certainly not alone. About 80 percent of all Americans suffer from constipation at some point in their lives and more than 2.5 million Americans seek medical treatment for it every year. In fact, it’s the most common complaint that patients have about their digestive systems. Doctors regularly prescribe a whole host of medications that aren’t always effective.

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) April 23, 2006

If you suffer from chronic constipation, you are most certainly not alone. About 80 percent of all Americans suffer from constipation at some point in their lives and more than 2.5 million Americans seek medical treatment for it every year. In fact, it’s the most common complaint that patients have about their digestive systems. Doctors regularly prescribe a whole host of medications that aren’t always effective.

People wary of nasty side effects often seek natural cures for constipation. Luckily, there is a natural remedy that is effective to help alleviate constipation and ward off other bowel complications like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and bloating. Dr. Rulin Xiu, a natural health expert and the founder of Pharm East, believed that constipation was controllable without harmful medication and set out to find a cure. She succeeded.

While in Tibet, Dr. Xiu discovered that several Tibetan herbs, if picked at the right times and processed correctly, could also be used to healthy and regular bowel functioning. Consisting of rhubarb root, mirabolan fruit, ginger fruit, and elecampagne fruit, Ibistrol’s ancient Tibeten formula is based on ancient Tibetan wisdom and on modern technology and scientific studies.

“Ibistrol is the most effective remedy known so far for supporting regular bowel function,” says Dr. Xiu. “This remedy has extensive clinical studies and its ingredients have been used for centuries. Through balancing and strengthening the gastrointestinal and digestive system, it helps enhance energy flow. It also strengthens intestinal muscles and promotes the movement of large and small intestines.”

Other health experts are impressed by Ibistrol’s effectiveness. “Unlike laxatives, it is safe to use Ibistrol long-term because instead of forcing bowel action, Ibistrol seeks to normalize action,” says Dr. William Wong, nationally-known naturopathic doctor and health expert. “Ibistrol is so safe that if the suggested dose does not have the desired effect in a few days, it is perfectly okay to double the dose in order to bring about the positive change.” People all over the country are discovering how effective Ibistrol really is.

Dr. Xiu is pleased by the overwhelming positive and enthusiastic response she gets from people who have been helped by Ibistrol. Unsolicited rave reviews pour in to Dr. Xiu from all over the world.

People going on trips away from home have learned to take Ibistrol to help keep them regular. Dannie from Hilo, Hawaii, is very enthusiastic about the product. “I take Ibistrol every day,” says Dannie. “I will make sure to take Ibistrol with me on our cruise. I feel so much better with Ibistrol.”

Pam K. from Hawaii also makes sure to bring Ibistrol along when she is away from home. “I take Ibistrol whenever I travel and never have problems, but the time we didn’t take it, we got constipated right away,” says Pam. “It’s just been great having it and I never go on a trip without it now.”

People with difficult and hectic lifestyles also benefit from Ibistrol. Shiela Novack from Detroit, Michigan, had to take milk of magnesia two to three times a week because she never ate enough high fiber foods and had constant stomach problems. After her son introduced her to Ibistrol, her life has changed completely.

“Ibistrol works for me and I love it,” says Novack. “I keep it right next to my vitamins. It’s a good feeling to know that I have it to keep myself healthy and waste-free. I only use Ibistrol now. No more milk of magnesia!”

Stress can often compound constipation and stomach problems. Pat V. from Denver, Colorado, began having problems triggered by a high-stress position at his company. “Constipation became a continuous and debilitating condition,” says Pat. “I could go five days or more without a bowel movement, bloating and discomfort increasing all the while. I tried laxatives, but they didn’t help. They only added to the pain and discomfort I already had.”

Pat tried going to see his general practitioner and tried many different natural approaches to no avail before finally trying a sample of Ibistrol. He was amazed by the results after a few short days. “Ibistrol has increased the quality of my life,” says Pat. “Now, instead of planning to be out of circulation for large blocks of time, I can just enjoy life. No more weekends in bed and no more pain in the gut. Thank you Ibistrol!”

For samples of Ibistrol or to set up an interview with Dr. Rulin Xiu for a story, please contact Sarah Van Blaricum at 727-443-7115, ext. 207

IQBio, Inc. Announce the Availability of the 100GB Portable iQBioDrive™ with BioCert® Fingerprint Security

IQBio, Inc. Announce the Availability of the 100GB Portable iQBioDrive™ with BioCert® Fingerprint Security

IQBio, Inc., A subsidiary of Artemis Solutions Group (www. artemis-usa. com) announced today the immediate availability of the 100GB Portable iQBioDrive™ incorporating advanced BioCert® fingerprint encryption and software to enhance data security.

Freeland, WA (PRWEB) July 13, 2006

iQBio, Inc. (www. iqbio. com), A subsidiary business unit of Artemis Solutions Group (ASG) (www. artemis-usa. com) announced today the immediate availability of the 100GB Portable iQBioDrive™ incorporating advanced BioCert® fingerprint encryption and security software.

The iQBioDrive (http://www. clipbio. com/iqbiodrive100gb. htm) is a 100GB Portable hard drive requires no external power supply and runs exclusively from USB power supplied by the host PC. Secured by 128bit AES encryption and exclusive BioCert® fingerprint technology, the iQBioDrive is specifically designed to meet the needs of the user that travels with secure company or personal data.

The iQBioDrive 100 Gigabyte Portable Secure Hard Drive is the latest product from iQBio - Intelligent Biometric Solutions (http://www. iqbio. com) designed to enhance personal and corporate data security.

"It doesn't seem like a day goes by that we don't hear about a major company, government agency or other entity 'losing' a hard drive or laptop with unencrypted data on it. It seems the best way to get your company or agency in the news these days is to breach your customers confidence, violate the laws designed to protect consumers and lose their personally identifiable data. This epidemic of corporate stupidity, complete disregard for data security and the resulting chaos heaped upon the customers has to stop.

Even a small business needs to understand and fully comply with the laws regarding stewardship of the data entrusted to them by their customers. One of the fundamental principles of sound business practices is security of your networks and data. To simply leave this data lying around on insecure media is sheer stupidity.

Personal individually identifiable data is everywhere, it's available, it's valuable and in the wrong hands can be quite destructive. The devices are disposable and replaceable. The data, once it is lost, sold or stolen, is not." states James Childers - CEO of iQBio.

For a brief primer on data security, data mining and the rash of recent breaches in security, check out the iQBio Data Security Blog (http://iqbio. blogspot. com/)

The iQBioDrive is designed to offer individuals, companies and government agencies the tools to secure their data and empower compliance with laws such as HIPAA - Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (http://www. hhs. gov/ocr/hipaa/) designed to protect patients and employees personal data, GLBA designed to protect financial data, and COPPA which is designed to protect the privacy rights of children. There are also numerous state and local laws and many requirements from financial companies, banks, brokerage firms, merchant Visa, MasterCard, American Express accounts and others with regard to the storage and protection of individually identifiable data that would benefit from the BioCert encryption offered by the iQBioDrive.

The iQBioDrive Portable 100GB Hard Drive is partitioned into three "mapped drives" on Windows 2000 (SP3) or Windows XP systems. The first is a partition that is seen by the system as a read only drive and contains the BioCert Odyssey™ biometric encryption software. The second partition is set at 100MB or roughly 10% of the drives capacity and is a public partition where files may be stored and used without biometric authentication such as the included anti-virus software. The last partition is the Secure Drive that can only be accessed through the use of biometric authentication or a 256 character override password.

At $299.95, the iQBioDrive represents an incredible value with over $200 of bundled applications to protect the host PC and includes security and portable applications to be used when using another PC to access the encrypted data. Best of all the iQBioDrive is designed and assembled here in the USA.

The shock resistant iQBioDrive is also the perfect companion for iPod owners as the music purchased from iTunes can only be downloaded once, but can be played on up to five authorized PCs. When stored on the encrypted partition, your valuable music, videos, TV shows and other iTunes content can only be accessed only with your fingerprint. Additionally you can map the drive letter of the secure drive to the same letter on all five of the authorized PCs. This way you can secure your investment and create playlists to download to your iPod as needed from any of the five PCs.

The iQBioDrive is the latest in Secure Portable Storage™ (http://www. clipbio. com/products. htm) products from iQBio that is about to change the way you secure and travel with information. More information can be found on the web at www. clipbio. com.

Ambient Devices and E Ink Join Forces on Weather Device

Ambient Devices and E Ink Join Forces on Weather Device

Two innovative MIT offshoots have joined forces to make a simple household device that reliably forecasts the local weather. Ambient Devices and E Ink today announced the Weather Wizard, which uses electronic paper to continuously display 5-day weather forecasts, broadcast in real time over Ambient’s nationwide wireless network.

Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) January 6, 2006

Two innovative MIT offshoots have joined forces to make a simple household device that reliably forecasts the local weather. Ambient Devices and E Ink today announced the Weather Wizard, which uses electronic paper to continuously display 5-day weather forecasts, broadcast in real time over Ambient’s nationwide wireless network.

The Weather Wizard is the size of a postcard and can easily stand on a dresser or hang on a refrigerator door. The customer simply enters a zip code and the product then shows the latest local weather forecast at all times. By combining Ambient’s energy-efficient wireless technology with E Ink’s low-power display technology, the Weather Wizard can operate continuously for two years on just two AAA batteries, so it is always accurate and does not require any cords or cables.

“As consumer products have become increasingly complex, the Weather Wizard signals a shift to simplicity,” says David Rose, Ambient’s president, “The E Ink displays are perfect for any low-power application and moreover they are beautiful. The contrast is like paper from any viewing angle and the image is crisp and clear.”

Russ Wilcox, E Ink president said “We are delighted to support Ambient because their network coverage is ubiquitous, and they continuously broadcast weather, stock, traffic, and other real-time information that people care about. With a reliable wireless technology that runs on a small battery, they can add intelligence to common objects in a magical way.”

Ambient’s nationwide wireless network and low-cost chipset technology provides the leading solution for embedding online information in weather stations, clock radios, car dashboards – and now pieces of paper. Compared to Microsoft’s MSN Direct technology, Ambient’s network coverage is broader, at a lower cost and 120 times longer battery life.

E Ink segmented display cell for the Weather Wizard is based on its novel electronic ink technology that uses 99% less energy than a liquid crystal display of the same size. Electronic ink works by using electricity to rearrange black and white particles similar to bits of ink and paper and it achieves the same clarity as printed text. The cell is made of flexible plastic, so it is paper-thin and lightweight.

About Ambient

Ambient’s mission is to make online information as easy to check as the time. Ambient is the pioneer and leader in delivering useful and timely online information through glanceable devices supported by its low-cost wireless bit-trickling applications.

Founded in 2001 out of MIT’s Media Lab and headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Ambient Devices has already achieved profitability, having sold over x,000 units. In 2003, the company launched the best-selling Ambient Orb, named in the NY Times Magazines "Year in Ideas." Ambient's vision is to embed information in everyday objects, making the physical environment an interface to digital information. Colors glow to indicate energy pricing, analog meters reflect the movement of the stock market, post-it-notes show you commute congestion, and on rainy days your umbrella lights up so you know to take it with you. The Ambient Information Network powers embedded wireless applications for companies in consumer electronics, transportation, energy, health and wellness, and whitegoods. Natural Salt Crystal Lamps Produce Healthy Negative Ions

Natural Salt Crystal Lamps Produce Healthy Negative Ions

Ionic imbalances in the air are best solved by natural crystal salt lamps.

(PRWEB) June 15, 2005

People are becoming increasingly concerned about the poor quality of air that they breathe within office buildings, motor vehicles, and even their own homes. In fact, the EPA notes that levels of air pollutants indoors are typically many times that of outside air, even in smoggy cities. Not only are we exposed to toxic fumes produced by synthetic carpets and paints, but a sizable portion of the air molecules are positively charged (meaning that they lack an electron). These so-called "positive ions" have been shown to cause stress, headaches, lethargy, and temporary depression.

Their chemical opposites -- termed "negative ions" -- neutralize positive ions, and thus help to clean the air and reduce those health problems. Moreover, frequent exposure to the negative ions can dramatically increase an individual's energy, mental alertness, and overall sense of well-being. For many years, people suffering from asthma and other symptoms have gained tremendous relief from underground asthma treatment (speleotherapy) in salt mines, where negative ions are plentiful.

The most convenient and environmentally friendly way to add these healthy ions to your own environment, is to use natural crystal rock salts, including those that have been crafted into beautiful lamps, which generate even more negative ions as a result of the light and heat exposure. Not only do people find the light of natural salt crystal lamps to be quite soothing, but the negative ions given off by the lamps are the same wonderful ions we smell in the air after a thunderstorm. These ions have a refreshing and energizing effect, helping to purify the air and thereby benefit the people and pets breathing that air.

These types of lamps are being used worldwide in holistic spas and medical treatment centers. The most common types of disorders treated are breathing problems, such as asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, and various allergies.

The very best salt rock crystals are those that are mined in an ecologically responsible manner, and crafted by dedicated artisans into attractive and safe lamps that can be used indefinitely. Such lamps have been tested and verified to release ions, even when not lit. They produce the same wonderful ions that we feel after a thunderstorm and when standing close to a natural waterfall. Even though the crystal salts and ions themselves are odorless, people can really feel the difference breathing the energized air.

Natural Salt Lamps (http://www. natural-salt-lamps. com/ (http://www. natural-salt-lamps. com/)) is the ideal source for purchasing salt crystal products conveniently online, including beautiful lamps, candle holders, natural skin care products, bath salts, salt pipes, salin devices, natural Solay skin care and holistic edible salts -- at terrific prices, and every customer's complete satisfaction is 100% guaranteed.

Blue Hill Troupe Presents 'The Yeomen of the Guard'

Blue Hill Troupe Presents 'The Yeomen of the Guard'

Event to benefit The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

New York, NY (Vocus) January 18, 2007

The award-winning Blue Hill Troupe (http://www. bht. org), New York's oldest Gilbert & Sullivan performing society, celebrates its 83nd season with a new production of "The Yeomen of the Guard."

Featuring what many consider to be Sullivan's most glorious music, "The Yeomen of the Guard," unlike the rest of the canon, presents a real, historical setting (Tudor England), and a plot with dramatic overtones in addition to the expected comic whimsy. The story concerns a handsome soldier facing execution on a trumped-up charge. Various plots to save him collide to both comic and serious effect.

"The Yeomen of the Guard (http://www. bht. org/yeomen. php3)" will play for eight performances April 13-21, 2007 at Teatro Heckscher of El Museo del Barrio (1230 Fifth Avenue at 104th Street).

Tickets will be available online at www. bht. org beginning March 1st, and range in price from $25-$65. The ticket office opens March 12 and can be reached from 2 to 5 p. m. weekdays at 212-988-2012.

Since its inception in 1924, the Blue Hill Troupe has produced a large-scale production of a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta (http://www. bht. org/yeomen. php3) every spring, with lavish production values and full orchestra. Each year, the proceeds benefit a different New York City charity, with the impressive total donated topping $3 million.

This year's beneficiary is The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, (NYSPCC). The NYSPCC was established in 1875 as the first child protection agency in the world, and since its inception, its contributions to the child welfare sector have been revolutionary, continuous and global. The NYSPCC's creation sparked a movement focused on preventing child abuse and neglect and protecting children from harm.

Proceeds from "The Yeomen of the Guard" will benefit The NYSPCC's Trauma Recovery Program, which provides critical mental health counseling services to children in New York City who have endured horrific abuse.

Blue Hill Troupe's president Jacalyn Yang said, "We're very excited to be working with one of New York City's oldest and worthiest charities. They address serious issues, but remain hopeful. 'Yeomen' deals with more real issues than most of the G&S operas, but is still leavened by comedy."

"The Yeomen of the Guard" will be directed and choreographed by Gary Slavin, recently represented Off Broadway by the hit revue "Bush is Bad." Musical direction will be by Zachary Schwartzman, whose work has been seen at New York City Opera and Glimmerglass Opera.

The Blue Hill Troupe has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning and has appeared twice at Carnegie Hall with The New York Pops. For the past twelve years, the Troupe has presented a Gilbert & Sullivan concert as part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Concerts and Lectures series, where they will return on February 11, 2007.

In August 2005, the Blue Hill Troupe presented their revised performance edition of the Gilbert & Sullivan rarity "The Grand Duke" at the 12th Annual International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England, where it was honored with awards for Best Male Performer, Best Female Performer and Best Musical Direction.

Teen Girls Have New Weapon In War Against Low Self-esteem

Teen Girls Have New Weapon In War Against Low Self-esteem

Teen Girls have a new tool for strengthening their self-esteem. Goldberry Publishing today announced the release of a new book entitled “Teen Girl’s Survival Guide to Lies, Liars and Lying” by Dr. David A. Camp. The book reveals the secret methods of lie detecting previously available only to law enforcement and government agencies.

Niota, IL (PRWEB) June 5, 2006

The author, a noted criminologist and deception expert, turned his criminal justice deception course into a self-help guide for young women. Dr. Camp stated, “Low self-esteem in teen girls is epidemic and the cause for a wide range of problems. Often a result of feeling powerless, low self-esteem can be countered by providing skills that enhance one’s control over social interactions.”

UCLA medical research and the National Association for Self-Esteem (NASE) claim that poor self-esteem increases cortisol production (associated with weight related problems, depression, accelerated aging, and elevated blood sugar levels) and is directly associated with problems of high blood pressure, school behavioral problems, eating disorders, alcohol/drug use, depression, suicide, and more. The NASE claims that improving self-esteem can serve as a “Social Vaccine” to many issues affecting youth.

Dr. Camp also noted that, “When a teen knows someone is trying to deceive her, she has the upper hand allowing her to ‘see what cards the other players are holding’. This gives her the ability to be more effective in personal and social relationships. In the process, this enhances her self-esteem by improving her physical, social, and psychological health. It gives her a lifelong advantage in dealing with others.”

Although these skills can be used by anyone to obtain control in interviews, negotiations, and personnel disputes, the simplicity and power of these skills is ideally suited to adolescent girls.

In addition to lie detection, “Teen Girls” arms young women with many additional tools such as how to get others to be honest, rules of human behavior, safety tips, signs that friends are being abused, date rape facts and strategies, and much more.

The book, additional support, interesting activities, quizzes and more are provided through the website, teengirlssurvivalguide. com. The book is also available through amazon. com.

MedSave Discount Pharmacy a unique “non-insurance based pharmacy” officially announced that they will be teaming up with Consumers for Health Care Choices to roll out a national prescription plan for the uninsured. MedSave has been very successful in setting up statewide prescription plans for large senior organizations in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Indiana.

New Hope, MN (PRWEB) May 17, 2006

MedSave Discount Pharmacy a unique “non-insurance based pharmacy” officially announced that they will be teaming up with Consumers for Health Care Choices to roll out a national prescription plan for the uninsured. MedSave has been very successful in setting up statewide prescription plans for large senior organizations in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Indiana. Sean Kacsir, founder of MedSave Discount Pharmacy states,” we have cut monthly prescription bills in half for thousands of our customers and have saved many of our customers up to 80% on their generic medication costs in the past two years”. MedSave has teamed up with Consumers for Health Care Choices, a growing national consumer organization to help get the word out to the 45 million uninsured Americans that either do not have insurance or have signed up with the growing Heath Savings Account “H. S.A. market.

MedSave Discount Pharmacy is a “cash pharmacy” or non-insurance pharmacy created in February, 2004 to help people with limited insurance or no insurance save money on prescriptions. The new prescription program is a simple plan that will offer Consumers for Health Care Choices members an additional 5% off the already discounted retail price. MedSave will also offer $1.00 shipping per package and include Consumers for Health Care Choices members to be included on the “full bottle” brand discount. This full bottle discount offers brand medications at a price well below the average retail price in the market.

Fred Wesely, chief pharmacist in New Hope, MN, works with doctors on a daily basis finding different ways to help save his customers money. “In our pharmacy you do not need insurance to be able to afford prescriptions. Many of the brand medications either has a generic medication available or has similar drugs that are much more affordable, that get similar results at a fraction of the cost. There has been numerous times where one phone call to the patient’s doctor has saved our patient $100.00 per month.” One example given was changing from the popular cholesterol drug Lipitor to Mevacor, which has a generic equivalent called Lovastatin. This change could reduce your monthly bill from $120.00 to $14.99 per month in our store. If you can’t afford the medication, you put your health in jeopardy. We help people afford to take their medication.

“This is an exciting time for our pharmacy concept, states Kacsir, we wanted to align ourselves with an organization that has similar goals and a passion to create a more effective healthcare system. Consumers for Health Care Choices are the perfect fit for MedSave because of the potential customers we will be able to reach with our discount concept.”

To qualify for MedSave Discount Pharmacy’s national program you can sign up for a Consumers for Health Care Choices membership by calling 301-606-7364. The cost for a general membership is only $15.00 per year. You can also visit their website at www. chcchoices. org to check out all of the membership benefits. To fill your prescriptions using MedSave Discount Pharmacy, you may bring a prescription to the store, have your doctor call in your prescription to the pharmacist or simply call MedSave at toll free 1-866-856-9633 and their pharmacist can transfer your prescription from your current pharmacy. Prescriptions are also available at discounts up to 80% without a CCHC membership. Shipping for non-members is $1.75 per package.

Datum Introduces the LapTop Depot to Help Prevent Laptop Theft

Designed primarily for school classrooms, the LapTop Depot product line provides a full line of stationary and mobile options to secure and charge laptops. Depots are available in capacities of 5, 8 and 10 and since they do not require a timer like traditional laptop carts they provide security at a lower cost per each laptop when compared to a cart.

Emigsville, PA (PRWEB) May 28, 2010

Datum's new LapTop Depots organize laptops into smaller groups (as opposed to a traditional cart) and can be stationed in various parts of the room. As a result students are able to attain and return their laptop in less time than a laptop cart because instead of one line, students are divided into 4 or 5 lines of five, eight or ten students.

Additionally, teachers can assign a group of students to each Depot allowing the teacher to track back a missing or vandalized laptop faster and easier than with a laptop cart.

Depots are available in 19 standard colors to match any decor.

The Depot is also designed to be used in health care and training applications where security and access to laptops is paramount.

Radio Show Features "The Queen of Health" Cancer Topic

Radio Show Features "The Queen of Health" Cancer Topic

KHTS AM 1220 Radio show Tuesday, October 3rd 12 pm - 1pm Pacific "The Queen of Health" Cancer Topic Topics include prevention, nutrition, stats, genetics, and children’s health.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 1, 2006

Returning special guest co-host Tami Hulcher, health educator and nationally recognized “The Queen of Health®”, will join Ellen Como on her KHTS AM 1220 “Lifestyle and Fitness” show on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd from NOON – 1pm Pacific Time. Nationwide listeners are invited to join us at www. hometownstation. com, click in to listen LIVE! “I will be dedicating this show in memory and in honor of my friend, the dearest Edith Meyer, who lost her courageous battle with cancer last month,” says Ms. Hulcher. Ellen and Tami will be also discussing children’s nutrition and the energy drink craze.

The science is clear. The results are unmistakable. Change your diet and dramatically reduce the risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease and obesity. According to many researchers, scientists and cancer experts, only about 5% of cancer is genetic. The other 95% can be attributed to diet and/or lifestyle. This is not an accusatory statement. Here are some facts:

According to Dr. David Heber, UCLA Center for Human Nutrition, only about 5% of cancer is genetic saying that “most cancers are not inherited.”

According to the American Cancer Society and Harvard Center for Cancer Prevention, only 5% to 10% of cancer cases are genetic. A vast majority of cancers, at least 90% then, occur in people with no family history of the disease. Although we can’t change our genetic makeup, we can modify our diet and lifestyles and we can still reduce our risks of getting cancer.

According to Dr. Walter Willett, Harvard Medical School, diet prevents up to 75% of certain cancers.

According to Dr. Patrick Quillin, PhD, RD, CNS, and author of Beating Cancer with Nutrition, “40% of cancer patients actually die from malnutrition.” Proper nutrition can also improve the outcome of cancer treatment.

Ms. Hulcher is a health educator, President and CEO of Ola Loa, Inc. This “Mom on a Mission” is also a guest of television, radio, and is a writer and soon-to-be author. Her popular lecture series “Got Health?” has been seen nationwide in schools, businesses, medical facilities, private health organizations, PTAs, churches, support groups, health expos and spas. She also serves as a wellness coordinator for many health care professionals.
