How to Make Love Work in the Bedroom

How to Make Love Work in the Bedroom

Relational Life Institute Announces a New Partnership for Sex Therapy Workshops for Couples and for Professionals.

Boston (PRWEB) February 13, 2009

Despite feeling completely committed to one another, many couples realize they are not fulfilling their sexual potential. Their physical intimate connection does not reflect the depth of love they have for one another. Others might feel quite satisfied with their sex life as a couple, but they are open to learning new skills to take their sexual intimacy to new levels.

In order to help couples improve the sexual health of their relationships, Terry Real (http://www. terryreal. com/about_terry/index. html), founder of the Relational Life Institute (http://www. terryreal. com/about_rrs/index. html), announced a new partnership with two of America's top sex experts, Lana Holstein, M. D. and David Taylor, M. D. (http://www. relationallife. com/families/couples. html#ws3Presenters) "As couples learn how to be more open and skilled in relating to one another, it is just as vital that they learn how to sustain or reawaken their sexual passion," said Real, a leading marriage and family therapist who is a multiple New York Times bestselling author.

Doctors Holstein and Taylor have spent the last decade refining their signature retreat for couples, teaching the skills needed to energize the dimensions of their sexual connection. That workshop called "Passionate Intimacy: Making Love Work in the Bedroom" (http://www. terryreal. com/index. html) will now be offered through the Relational Life Institute. During the three-day retreat, couples learn how to:
Deepen intimacy, Rekindle the fire of passion, Extend their knowledge of sexual anatomy and physiology for better lovemaking, Recognize how to create and use sexual energy in their day-to-day interactions with one another, Bring back the joy of connecting the heart with sex, and Deepen their desire for the physical expression of love. The Holstein-Taylor workshop is the newest offering of the Relational Life Institute (RLI), which provides professional training for therapists in the Relational Life Therapy (RLT) methodology and develops groundbreaking, intensive workshops for couples, parents and individuals who want to improve their relationships. RLI distributes the programming through Real Relational Solutions, Inc., which also provides professional training for corporate consultants and coaches on "Working With Difficult Leaders."

This new collaboration will extend to a national tour of several U. S. cities in which Real and Holstein will train therapists on how to help their clients re-awaken the sexual intimacy they once had with their partners. The workshop called, "Making Love: Moving Couples from Apathy to Ecstasy" will uniquely blend Dr. Holstein's expertise on sex therapy with Real's Relational Life Therapy methodology. The presentation will interweave both experts' tools and core concepts as they have a dialogue with one another and with the audience about issues that are raised. Each one-day course will be conducted in Boston, Boulder, Houston, Minneapolis, New Jersey-New York area and San Francisco. Dates and registration details are forthcoming.

In the past year, over 150 therapists and other helping professionals have enrolled in RLI's professional certification (http://www. terryreal. com/therapists/prof_training. html) program and the Institute has delivered relationship skills training to over 500 individuals and couples around North America.

On Monday, February 16, Real will appear on ABC's Good Morning America to discuss the topic of "Sexless Marriage." He was also interviewed about how money affects the marriage by Jean Chatzky on Oprah & Friends Radio, and his broader work was has been covered in recent issues of SELF, Cosmopolitan and Women's Health magazines.

VNA of South Central Connecticut Receives Major Grant to Address Certified Nurse’s Aide Shortage

VNA of South Central Connecticut Receives Major Grant to Address Certified Nurse’s Aide Shortage

Grant funding for Certified Nurse’s Aide Program Allows the VNA of South Central Connecticut to Address Shortage of Certified Nurse’s Aides

New Haven, CT (PRWEB) December 23, 2009

The Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut (VNA/SCC) (www. vnascc. org) has received a grant for $135,000 from The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven(http://www. cfgnh. org/ (http://www. cfgnh. org/)) to fund the research, development and implementation of a certified nurse’s aide training program based in New Haven.

This grant serves two vital purposes: (1) it allows the VNA/SCC to develop and implement a certified nurse’s aide training program that will specifically address the growing need for qualified para-professional support in the field of home care and (2) it provides a means to reach out to members of the community who may not otherwise be able to afford to attend a training program and offers them a low-cost education that will elevate their ability to find meaningful employment while satisfying a growing health care need.

“We are pleased that The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven has the confidence in our proposal to establish and lead this innovative effort,” John Quinn, President & CEO of VNA Health Systems said.

According to Fazzi Associates, a home care consulting firm, the specific challenge of hiring certified nurse’s aides will continue to grow, with an additional 350,000 being needed nationally by 2014. This is due to the fact that 8 out of 10 hours of paid care received by long term care clients is provided by a para-professional such as certified nurse’s aide, personal care attendant and home health aide.

Additionally, with state-level initiatives, such as Money Follows the Person (http://tinyurl. com/y9o3zsv (http://tinyurl. com/y9o3zsv)), there will be an increasing focus on home care as a cost-effective alternative to institutional care for these long-term care patients. This poses a dramatic strain on our local health care system.

“Again, we have taken the initiative to develop an innovative solution to meet the emerging community health care needs,” Quinn said. “Generous support from The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven allows us to offset the cost of the training program, which is often a direct barrier to growing the employable paraprofessional work force.”

Funding for this program is made by possible through the Jennie C. Bronson, Anne Hope Bennett and William & Barbara Hoblitzelle funds at The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. Each fund was established by bequest with a preference for distributions to be used for various health services. Since 1928, donors to The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven have built the community’s endowment of 700 named funds valued at approximately $270 million. For more information about the work of The Community Foundation visit www. cfgnh. org.

Zudha simplifies JXTA Java Collaborative P2P software development

In a bid to make it easy for ISVs to develop collaborative or peer-to-peer JXTA-J2SE (Project JXTA, http://www. jxta. org) applications Zudha announced the availability of a plug-in framework for ZIM-Pro, what they claim to be a Serverless Instant messenger available at http://zimpro. zudha. com

(PRWEB) February 11, 2004

In a bid to make it easy for ISVs to develop collaborative or peer-to-peer JXTA-J2SE (Project JXTA, http://www. jxta. org (http://www. jxta. org)) applications Zudha announced the availability of plug-in framework for ZIM-Pro, what they claim to be a Serverless Instant messenger available at http://zimpro. zudha. com (http://zimpro. zudha. com)

"We are excited about the possibilities a Java Plug-in developer can bring into this otherwise plain vanilla Serverless IM called ZIM-Pro!! The plug-in may be a game or even a full featured business collaboration application or God (and you) knows what else it could be!!" proclaimed, the representative at Zudha.

"We have provided a simple to use API for plug-in development in the recent version release of the software which will be visible as "Add-Ons" in the Menu. There is a sample plug-in included to demonstrate how it works.

We are convinced from our own experience that developing with JXTA technology, which is used as the platform to develop ZIM-Pro, has a steep learning curve and is not very easy in terms of developer understanding the flow of the JXTA API. To bring benefits of our learning experience to fellow developers and to weave a developer community surrounding ZIM-Pro which would further boost its adoption, we have taken this big step as a commitment to ZIM-Pro user community and to support Java developers." she added.

ZIM-Pro is made available for download from http://zimpro. zudha. com (http://zimpro. zudha. com)

Zudha is also considering requests from developers who are not using Java to provide a C/C++ alternative of ZIM-Pro to expand its support to multiple developer communities and user groups.

The company has also released a developer specific API codenamed AZXTA for Java developers to easily develop JXTA collaborative software from scratch that conceals all the intricate learning otherwise needed for using the JXTA API.

Inclined towards serving the healthcare sector Zudha is also now testing a desktop software product that combines business application and collaboration in one software which is centered around Physicians, Doctors and Independent Medical Practitioners. The product is scheduled tentatively for preview release in the month of March 2004.

Euroscreen Strengthens its Patent Position in the Field of Inflammatory Targets

Euroscreen Strengthens its Patent Position in the Field of Inflammatory Targets

European patent awarded for uses of Chemerin receptor and its natural ligand, both implicated in the control of physiological and pathological inflammatory reactions

Brussels, Belgium (PRWEB) November 9, 2005

Euroscreen SA, a world leader in G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), today announced the issuance of a key European patent which protects the uses of Chemerin receptor and its natural ligand to find compounds that modulate its activity, and thus may have pharmaceutical potential.

The Chemerin receptor was cloned and characterized by the team of Professor Marc Parmentier at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research (IRIBHM) of the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Their studies have shown that Chemerin receptor is mainly expressed on Dendritic Cells and Macrophages which are Antigen Presenting Cells (APCs), and that the natural ligand of Chemerin receptor (Chemerin) is a novel chemoattractant factor that specifically attracts APCs through this receptor. Recent data obtained at the IRIBHM strongly suggest that the central role played by APCs both in the initiation of immune responses and in the link between innate and adaptive immunity could be regulated by Chemerin receptor and its Chemerin ligand.

The European patent (1 405 083 B1) relates in particular to (i) screening methods to single out compounds that modulate, either up or down, the biological activity of Chemerin receptor, (ii) kit for screening agents that modulate the binding or the signaling activity of Chemerin receptor, (iii) kit for the diagnosis of a disease or disorder characterized by dysregulation of Chemerin receptor signaling, and (iv) the natural ligand of Chemerin receptor. The issuance of equivalent patents in the USA, Japan and Canada will occur in the near future.

Commenting on the announcement, Prof. Marc Parmentier, CSO and founder of Euroscreen, said: “This European patent award is a significant milestone in the positioning of Euroscreen as a GPCR company focused on inflammatory diseases and encourages us to pursue our efforts in internal drug discovery programs encompassing several inflammatory targets including the Chemerin receptor.”

Debenhams Reveals that Britons are Going Gaga for Afternoon Tea

Debenhams Reveals that Britons are Going Gaga for Afternoon Tea

Debenhams launches a Civilised Drinking Campaign to educate customers on tea-drinking etiquette after Lady Gaga inadvertently sparks a new thirst for afternoon tea in Britain.

(PRWEB) November 17, 2010

Debenhams, one of Britain's leading department stores, has reported that 'taking' afternoon tea, the epitome of British refinement, is making a surprising come-back thanks to American pop sensation Lady Gaga.

Sales of china teacups and saucers are up to 119%, and other afternoon tea accoutrement such as teapots (http://www. debenhams. com/home-furniture/dinnerware/dinnerware-loose/coffee-teapots), plates and cake stands are flying off the shelves since Lady Gaga made delicate crockery her accessory of choice.

The international pop sensation was pictured drinking from a china cup and saucer earlier this year and was bizarrely seen walking round cup and saucer in hand wherever she went.

It was also reported that the Poker Faced singer was so attached to her crockery that a taxi was sent on a £35 round trip to collect the cup and saucer that the 'Bad Romance' singer had mistakenly left at one of London’s top hotels.

Selling over 62 different styles of cups and saucers (http://www. debenhams. com/home-furniture/dinnerware/dinnerware-loose/cups-saucers) and serving over 4.5m cups of tea a year, Debenhams wants to ensure, that like Gaga, its customers have cup and saucer etiquette down to a tee.

Ed Watson, spokesperson for Debenhams, said, "Lady Gaga is driving this trend towards tea drinking, and surprisingly it seems that the American pop eccentric knows a lot about traditional British etiquette.

"While the uneducated may feel that raising of the little finger is de rigueur with their Darjeeling and proper with their PG, Gaga's pinkie remains firmly aligned to her remaining digits – the correct way to take your cuppa."

To ensure that the British public is keeping pinkie fingers at bay, Debenhams is launching a Civilised Drinking Campaign to educate customers on the intricacies of taking tea.

Shop assistants will be asking customers in the crockery department if they are aware of the proper manners associated with tea drinking.

'Ladette to Lady' Social & Etiquette Expert, Liz Brewer added, "Traditionally, English afternoon tea epitomized elegance and has thankfully returned to fashion not only as a daily ritual, but as a way of impressive entertaining, especially for those on a limited budget!

"I'm afraid the 'pinkie' may have returned in some circles due to the increase in tea drinking but it is in fact incorrect. Raising a pinkie is totally unacceptable, and unkindly - it is considered a pretense to good manners indicating the owner doesn't have any."

Ed Watson continued, "Last year we launched a Civilised Dining Campaign after discovering that shoppers had abandoned traditional eating etiquette by eating the majority of meals with just a fork – so it's fantastic to see another return to traditional British manners, despite it being lead by an unlikely ambassador."

Health Insurance, Health Care Issues Now Top Rated Topics for Radio Listeners According to Arbitron

Health Insurance, Health Care Issues Now Top Rated Topics for Radio Listeners According to Arbitron

The Health Insurance Advocate Show, With Cary Hall, Achieves One Year Ratings Increase of 119 Percent in Western Missouri, Eastern Kansas Market and 576 Percent in Wichita, Kansas, Market By Delivering Clarity and Eliminating Confusion

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) August 16, 2007

Cary Hall announced today that the Health Insurance Advocate Show, featured on Talk Radio 710 KCMO in Kansas City, Missouri, 9 a. m. Saturdays, has recently experienced a significant Arbitron ratings increase of 119 percent, more than doubling its listenership since this time last year. The program also airs on News Radio 1330 KNSS Talk Radio in Wichita, Kansas, noon on Saturdays, and has experienced an Arbitron ratings increase of 576 percent in the past year - an increase Hall says is a direct result of teaching listeners to feel confident in their understanding of healthcare coverage. Listen to program podcast (http://www. knssradio. com/pages/341770.php) or live (http://www.710kcmo. com/listenlive. asp).

"With so much change in the industry and the relentless cost increases that can often drive consumers away from even having healthcare coverage, we believe we know why the show has had such incredible gains in popularity," Hall said. "Simply put, it's desperately needed."

Hall is host of the Saturday morning program as well as president of Benefits By Design, a health insurance and consumer advocate company. The radio program is now the number one rated Saturday talk show in the region according to Arbitron Winter Book Ratings for 2007.

"We're ending the myth that health insurance is not affordable with a cutting edge program designed to educate and raise awareness in the group and individual policy markets," said Hall. "We're helping everyone from sole proprietors who are trying to raise their families to HR executives at large corporations who are trying to make sense out of poorly performing group policies. The show teaches them to understand the market and how best to protect their employees and loved ones with incredible savings and coverage efficiency."

"People don't gain clarity on Medicare changes or child-only coverage or caring for elderly parents and so many other very personal issues by reading a boring conventional brochure," Hall says. "We teach our listeners by conversing with knowledgeable experts, healthcare professionals and community service organizations every week in order to put a human face on what we all face together -- the need to protect ourselves and our families and the need to conserve and protect our dollars."

Hall cites the fact that the health insurance industry can be complex and often leads to confusion, frustration and even heartache in the market place. Breaking down industry terminology and government regulations, demonstrating cost efficiency and giving consumers confidence in the purchase of healthcare coverage is what the Health Insurance Advocate Show strives to deliver.

The new Arbitron ratings come at a crucial time as the Health Insurance Advocate Show reaches its fourth anniversary on the air in Kansas City, touching most of western Missouri and eastern Kansas. The program is in its second year in the Wichita market.

The Health Insurance Advocate Show, heard in Kansas City on Talk Radio 710 KCMO Saturdays from 9 a. m. to 10 a. m. and in Wichita on News Radio 1330 KNSS Talk Radio Saturdays from Noon to 1 p. m., is Kansas City's and Wichita's only source for the latest information on the health insurance industry.

Stevia's flavor (up to 300 times sweeter than sugar) also has a slower onset and the sweet flavor lasts longer than that of processed sugar, creating a more balanced taste profile, and a better overall nutritional experience. With hundreds of studies showing that FDA approved Stevia is a safe, natural alternative to artificial sweeteners; it is truly the most prevalent news to hit the food and beverage industry in decades.

The three new blends from Earthly Delights™ are packed with anti-oxidants, each boasting an anti-oxidant/ ORAC Value (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) of 5,000 per serving, along with 100% of the recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C, and 50% of the sugar compared to pure Pomegranate juice. The three blends are:

FOCUS - an all-natural blend of Pomegranate and Blueberry juices, extracts of Gingko Biloba, Grape Seed, and Hibiscus, and gently sweetened with all natural Stevia. FOCUS helps strengthen blood vessels, and enhances cognitive function and memory.

HEARTEN - an all-natural blend of Pomegranate and Cherry juices, extracts of Wild Berry, Hibiscus, and Grape Seed, and gently sweetened with all natural Stevia. HEARTEN helps maintain a healthy heart and arteries, while also helping maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

DEFENSE - an all-natural blend of Pomegranate, Pineapple, Mangosteen and Mango juices, extracts of Camu-Camu, and gently sweetened with Stevia. DEFENSE helps to naturally boost immunity, repair cell damage, and support emotional well-being.

Earthly Delights™ "True Fruit Juice Blends" are available in produce departments nationally, packaged in both 32oz. eco-friendly and 8oz. single serve containers.

"Sugar content is a huge concern of our customers." said Chuck Watson, President of Global Juices and Fruits. "Stevia is the all natural solution that lowers the sugar content of our new SKUs, without compromising the flavor profile of our exotic juices and extracts. Our blends provide the daily recommended dose of anti-oxidants with an ORAC value of 5,000 while also allowing our customers to consume only half the sugar grams - less sugar per serving equates to a lower fluctuation in overall insulin levels, which has been proven to be an enormous health benefit. With channel partners such as Safeway, Kroger, ShopRite, and Acme, we are confident that consumers will be pleased with the overall value proposition and health benefits of our new line."

AMD Global Telemedicine Inc. Seeing Continuing Opportunities in Correctional Telemedicine as U. S. Study Shows Incarceration Costs Increasing across the Country

AMD Global Telemedicine Inc. Seeing Continuing Opportunities in Correctional Telemedicine as U. S. Study Shows Incarceration Costs Increasing across the Country

Pew Center on the States releases study that currently one in every 31 adults is within the corrections system, more than double the rate of a quarter century ago. AMD Global Telemedicine Inc. believes telemedicine is the answer.

N. Chelmsford, MA (PRWEB) March 11, 2009

AMD Global Telemedicine Inc. sees expanding opportunities for the advancement of telemedicine as a study released March 2, 2009, by the Pew Center on the States shows that 7.3 million people -- one in 31 U. S. adults -- are now in lock up, on parole, or serving probation. According to figures from the U. S. Department of Justice the United States has the highest incarceration rate and the largest prison population of any country in the world.

The Pew Study also found that last year, penitentiary systems were the fastest expanding spending area for States after Medicaid. Total State corrections costs now top $50 billion annually. The cost of incarcerating a single inmate now averages $29,000 a year. A significant portion of the inmate expense is providing healthcare.

The three biggest problems facing health care within prisons are: ability to recruit and retain doctors willing to travel into the prisons, costs and safety concerns associated with transporting prisoners to local emergency rooms for what are often times non-emergency situations and the general availability of specialists.

Telemedicine is the perfect solution to address these problems. Telemedicine is the technology that allows all inmate physical assessments to be completed within the prison walls while a doctor remains in any remote location throughout the world; this is not only a much safer alternative, but also saves valuable time and a significant amount of money.

"Implementing telemedicine within prison systems is not only a much safer option as it keeps violent criminals needing to be seen by a doctor out of the community, but it also drastically reduces transportation costs as well as the individual costs of each medical consultation. With the number of adults in prison continuously on the rise and the cost of maintaining their healthcare skyrocketing, telemedicine can contribute to a tremendous cost reduction for each state," stated Steve Normandin, President of AMD Global Telemedicine, Inc.

About AMD Global Telemedicine, Inc.:
AMD Global Telemedicine is the leading, worldwide supplier of telemedicine equipment and technology devices used in telemedicine with more than 5,200 installed sites in 74 countries. The Environments Irrigation System Saves, Time, Money, and Eliminates Worry

The Environments Irrigation System Saves, Time, Money, and Eliminates Worry

Saving time, money, and caring for the environment via water conservation are just a few of the major benefits of an Environments Irrigation System. All of this and more this can be had without compromise and with peace of mind while preserving the beauty of your landscape.

San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) June 15, 2006

Water conservation is a modern necessity and requirement of landscape and garden enthusiasts. As water resources are increasingly strained and water bills rise, an efficient, well-designed and well maintained irrigation system becomes of paramount importance. RW Environments, Inc. is proud to announce the Environments Irrigation System (EIS).

An EIS is a unique combination of personalized service, supplies, equipment, and expertise that takes the worry out of irrigation. The typical EIS installation will conserve 30-60% of the water used by a conventional irrigation installation. The EIS utilizes state-of-the art irrigation “Smart” controllers to maximize water usage. Along with a professional design and dedicated maintenance teams an EIS keeps lawns, plants, shrubs and trees healthy and looking their best.

At the heart of the EIS is our smart controller technology. This technology uses weather data or senses the soil moisture level to develop an accurate watering schedule tailored to each individual area in the landscape. The controller allows the system to automatically adjust to rainy, cold, dry, or tepid conditions. An EIS applies just the right amount of water at just the right time; no more, no less. Irrigation automatically occurs only when and where needed.

The EIS in-line drip irrigation and high uniformity sprinkler technology utilizes low application rates and matched precipitation rates to create the most efficient use and delivery of water possible. Our installations are low maintenance, durable, and easy to expand or modify over time.

The EIS provides an optional service plan to keep your EIS in top condition and insure continuing conservation and cost efficiency. An EIS expert will regularly check and maintain the irrigation system at predetermined times throughout the year to eliminate any worries for customers. Even if you are on vacation we still keep a close eye on your system. Because EIS is an integrated system, all of your landscape, garden and irrigation needs are met. Planning designs, installing irrigation systems, ongoing maintenance, and problem-solving is all covered.

Responsible water conservation is accomplished by using an EIS. The end result is a healthier more vigorous landscape that realizes substantial money savings over time and contributes to a healthier environment. Many EIS installations quickly return their initial investment to their owners. Appropriate water usage prevents or minimizes run-off that may pollute streams, wells and aquifers. In addition, many municipal water districts offer rebates on their installation.

Vincera, Inc. Announces Content Filter Partner Program for Data Loss/Leakage Prevention

Vincera, Inc. Announces Content Filter Partner Program for Data Loss/Leakage Prevention

Vincera Intelligent ProtectionTM Document ThreadTM enables companies to prevent data loss/leakage via complete document tracking and reporting for data in motion-

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) March 21, 2007

Vincera, Inc., the document security company whose software allows their clients to protect, monitor, measure and manage the distribution of their data in motion, including intellectual property and other sensitive data, today announced the launch of its Content Filter Partner Program. The Program will extend Vincera software's unique data tracking and reporting capabilities to content filter vendors who provide data loss/leakage prevention services to InfoSec professionals in diverse industries.

"Data Leakage is one of the hottest topics in InfoSec today," says Vincera COO Kevin Schick, "due to the prevalence of data leakage and its harmful consequences to every enterprise. Although companies' data at rest is now better protected, their data in motion remains acutely vulnerable to threats from malicious sources, such as hackers and disgruntled former employees, as well as threats from accidental causes, including accidental sends and email address auto-fills for unintended recipients. A recent survey revealed that most InfoSec professionals rate email attachments as a top risk to enterprise information security; yet 57% of companies today have no method in place for securing their e-distributed data in documents from tampering, illicit distribution, and theft."

Continues Schick, "The consequences of data leakage are vastly damaging to companies' brands and to their bottom lines as they lose the respect and trust of partners, prospects, and existing customers. That's why we're so excited to offer our partners in content filtering the ultimate weapon in deterring, detecting, and disabling data leakage and loss: Vincera Intelligent ProtectionTM's Document ThreadTM."

Vincera Intelligent ProtectionTM (VIP), Vincera's flagship document security software product, is an information distribution technology that greatly reduces the risk of security breaches inherent in the e-distribution and storage of sensitive data, by enabling companies to set business-driven rules to secure, track and manage the distribution of all e-distributed sensitive content. Vincera Document ThreadTM, the patent-pending mechanism whereby content filtering is extended, is now a standard, integral feature of VIP.

Document threading capabilities enable e-discovery, forensic detection, and the early detection or prevention of a breach via established audit trails. When the VIP customer associates a given security level for a given document, that customer is notified if the document in question is shared beyond the VIP customer's self-defined limits. Finally, VIP's document threading capabilities are so accurate that VIP customers can choose to disable any given document for any given thread/subset of users. Disabling the document means not only that the information cannot be forwarded, but that any sensitive information already distributed will be disabled as well.

States Vincera CEO Dave Malmstedt, "VIP's Document Thread integrates security and tracking for data in motion so enterprise data loss and leakage are stopped cold, and costly mistakes are averted. With Document Thread, our partners and customers will apply the same security to their data in motion as is already applied to data at rest. We are out to make data loss and leakage a historical footnote, and we're starting with our partners in content filtering. We are excited to extend Vincera's actionable data loss prevention knowledge to InfoSec professionals in every industry via our new Content Filter Partner Program."

About Vincera, Inc.

Vincera, Inc. is the document security company whose software allows their clients to protect, monitor, measure and manage the distribution of their data in motion, including intellectual property and other sensitive data, in a process labeled as "business friendly distribution," because businesses are in charge of applying the appropriate security level and deciding how they use the resulting information. Only Vincera combines three vital document security software services--document threading, behavioral monitoring and access management.

Vincera's clients include enterprises in diverse industries that use Internet-based technology to e-distribute documents with sensitive data in motion such as intellectual property, personally identifiable information, and/or personal health information. Vincera's clients share a need to guard this sensitive data in motion and to track how their own customers, employees and partners are using their licensed products, enterprise documents or other intellectual property. Rural Telephone Deploys AvailÂ’s Frontera Platform - Ethernet and Inverse Multiplexing Features Key to Cost-Effective Traffic Backhaul

Rural Telephone Deploys AvailÂ’s Frontera Platform - Ethernet and Inverse Multiplexing Features Key to Cost-Effective Traffic Backhaul

Avail Networks, manufacturer of intelligent multiservice network access solutions, announces a recent customer win with Rural Telephone, a US-based independent local exchange carrier.

(PRWEB) November 1, 2002

Ann Arbor, Michigan, November 1, 2002 – Avail Networks today announced that Rural Telephone, an incumbent telephone cooperative based in Kansas, has begun installing AvailÂ’s Frontera(R) multiservice platforms for efficient backhaul of remote site IP/Ethernet traffic to their core network.

AvailÂ’s Frontera products are ideal for sites that need Ethernet and other connectivity options over multiple aggregated T1/E1 circuits. In Rural TelephoneÂ’s case, the Avail solution eliminated the need to move to higher speed circuits such as T-3 or OC-3 by utilizing existing T1 facilities between sites, avoiding wasted bandwidth and higher equipment costs in the process.

“Avail’s Frontera solution offers a way for us to backhaul Ethernet and IP traffic from remote sites at a cost point that results in a strong business case for us,” said Dennis Johnson, Central Office Manager of Rural Telephone. “Avail’s inverse multiplexing over ATM (IMA) features provide a fault-resilient approach to packetizing traffic over our existing inter-POP T1 trunk lines without sacrificing performance or quality of service.”

“Rural Telephone is a good example of an independent incumbent telco that has remained healthy in part because they continue to make wise capital investment decisions that improve their infrastructure,” noted David L. Hartmann, President and CEO of Avail Networks. “We are very pleased that they are successfully deploying our Frontera platforms in key segments of their network.”

About Avail Networks

Avail Networks designs, develops, and markets broadband network access solutions that enable communications providers worldwide to save costs while delivering high-value services to small, medium, and large enterprises across metro fiber, traditional wireline, and wireless access networks. AvailÂ’s flagship Frontera products deliver multiple services to end-user sites in a variety of subscriber locations and configurations, maximizing service profitability, reach, and agility. Avail is privately held, financed by U. S. and international venture and strategic investors including Blueprint Ventures, EDF Ventures, Blue Chip Venture Company, NTT Leasing Capital, Enterasys Networks, and Accton Technology Corporation. Hip-Hip-Hooray! Exciting New Hip and Knee Resurfacing Surgery Comes to Bakersfield

Hip-Hip-Hooray! Exciting New Hip and Knee Resurfacing Surgery Comes to Bakersfield

Like most people, you probably want to keep your body parts for as long as possible. Innovative hip and knee surgery at San Joaquin Community Hospital (SJCH) can help you do just that. It's called resurfacing, and it's life-changing.

Bakersfield, CA (PRWEB) August 18, 2008

Like most people, you probably want to keep your body parts for as long as possible. After all, God gave them to you for a reason. Innovative hip and knee surgery at San Joaquin Community Hospital (http://www. sjch. us) (SJCH) can help you do just that. It's called resurfacing, and it's life-changing.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were 383,500 hip replacements and 550,800 knee replacements in the United States in 2005, and the numbers are rising. You don't have to be one of them.

Birmingham Hip Resurfacing

Gary Shepard, a 56-year-old from Bakersfield, has been athletic most of his life. It took its toll. He's been in pain for countless years, limping and walking at a 45 degree slant. He couldn't even cross his legs, so in 2007 he had Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR™).

"The change is dramatic. It feels like my own hips. I walk straight, I've grown two inches, and even my knees don't swell anymore. People can't believe it when they see me---I feel fantastic," says Shepard.

Your hip is a ball-and-socket joint that unites two separate bones---femur (thighbone) and pelvis. The femoral head is a ball that fits into the pelvis socket. In the standard total hip replacement (THR), ball and socket are completely removed and replaced. The femoral shaft (thighbone's long part) is hollowed out and a spike, which holds the ball, is pressed into the bone. The spike can loosen and cause bone wear.

It's completely different with resurfacing. The femoral shaft is never disturbed---there is no spike. A minimal amount of the ball is shaved and then fitted snuggly with a smooth metal cap. The socket is shaped to fit a polished metal cup that the bone naturally takes on as its own.

Resurfacing preserves bone, improves range of motion, and gives you freedom to have a highly active, normal life. And that's a great thing.

Resurfacing was available years ago; it didn't last long. Technology and metal implants were far less sophisticated than today. Patients can now expect superior results with new medically-advanced implants.

In 2007, BHR™ celebrated its 10th anniversary. It has been used in 26 countries with a worldwide success rate of 97.2 percent. The FDA approved its use in the United States in 2006.

"With BHR™, I remove a lot less bone than in hip replacement. Oftentimes it's only 10 percent of the femoral head," says Tom Ferro, MD, FAAOS, orthopedic surgeon. "Patients experience less pain and report that it feels like their own hip. Resurfacing patients appear to feel normal very quickly, frequently by the second day after surgery.

"Another huge advantage to preserving bone is that you have more to work with later if your hips are injured."

It's just a fact of life: once bone is removed, you can't put it back.

Ferro, the leader in BHR™, is one of approximately 50 surgeons nationwide who perform this procedure. It requires considerable expertise in resurfacing. Although his clinic, the Bone & Joint Center, is located in Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo, Ferro also performs BHR™ in Bakersfield but only at SJCH.

"The hospital is extremely receptive to state-of-the-art procedures, and they have the patient's best interests at heart. It's important that patients have the finest technology used by the best people and in a highly efficient system---that's San Joaquin," says Ferro.

This procedure is recommended for active people under 66 years of age with good bone quality. There are some exceptions. Always talk to a physician to identify your best options.

"After seeing the huge change in me, friends and relatives are considering this for themselves. My wife spent a lot of time researching BHR™. I highly recommend it, and you can't do much better than Dr. Ferro," says Shepard.

Partial Knee Resurfacing:
Your knee has three compartments or areas where different bones of the knee make contact: femur (thighbone), patella (kneecap), and tibia (shinbone). Instead of replacing the whole knee, partial knee resurfacing only removes the damaged compartment or bone.

The benefits are numerous: faster recovery, less pain, smaller implant, smaller incision, and your healthy tissue remains intact. Plus, the procedure has minimal age restrictions. It doesn't get much better than that.

No two knees are exactly the same---knee implants should be different too. MRI data can now be used to create a 3-D computer model of your knee. The result is a precise implant that doesn't force your surgeon to cut more bone so that your knee can match a generic implant.

If you think tailor-made clothes would feel great, wait until you experience a body part made just for you.

The next time your hips and knees twinge, don't grimace. You have easy access to a top surgeon, leading-edge procedures, and San Joaquin Community Hospital, where integrity meets you at the door. And that's a great thing.

For more information about the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing and Partial Knee Resurfacing procedures, visit the San Joaquin Community Hospital website at http://www. sjch. us (http://www. sjch. us).

CDW LLC Selects Billtrust for Outsourced Billing Services

Billtrust adds CDW LLC to their growing roster of companies outsourcing the processing and delivery of invoices and statements.

Monroe Township, NJ (PRWEB) November 18, 2010

CDW LLC Selects Billtrust for Outsourced Billing Services

Billtrust, a premier provider of outsourced billing services, today announced that CDW LLC, a leading provider of technology solutions for business, government education and healthcare, has chosen them to handle the processing and delivery of their invoices. Using Billtrust’s CompleteBilling service, CDW is reducing their billing costs and improving the quality of billing services they provide to their customers.

Billtrust’s CompleteBilling service includes everything from the design of the bill, to the delivery to the end user. As part of their service, bills are delivered to the bill recipient via many different channels including US Mail, Email, Fax, and Online. Further, Billtrust has a dedicated team that works with their customers to help them move to paperless delivery. Billtrust has six strategically located print and mail facilities throughout North America that send the bill from the location that will minimize delivery time through the postal system

“A key factor in our decision to outsource to Billtrust was their expertise in supporting the B2B market”, said Jason Housinger, Director of Credit at CDW. “We felt they offered an excellent solution to meet our billing needs and we have also started to see an overall decrease in billing expense, largely due to their electronic billing solution”.

Billtrust is known for helping their customers drive e-Adoption (the percentage of bills delivered electronically). CDW, which went live with Billtrust in June of 2010, has already seen a number of its customers make the transition from paper invoices to electronic invoices. According to Housinger, “we are pleased that many of our customers have begun receiving their invoices electronically, and we expect that number to continue to grow as we fully implement CompleteBilling and apply many of Billtrust’s e-Adoption practices”

“We are excited to have an industry leader like CDW recognize the value of our services,” said Billtrust President Flint Lane. “This is further validation of the ability of our service to uniquely meet the needs of the B2B market. We are looking forward to working with CDW in the years ahead.”

St. Clair Hospital Opens New ER, Reduced Wait Times, Toyota@St. Clair Process

St. Clair Hospital Opens New ER, Reduced Wait Times, Toyota@St. Clair Process

Western PA's busiest ER is now bigger and faster with capacity for 80,000 patient visits and reduced wait times. Using the Toyota Production Model, St. Clair Hospital in the Pittsburgh suburb of Mt. Lebanon is reducing wait times and increasing patient satisfaction, through an improved process and flow throughout the hospital.

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) December 16, 2008

St. Clair Hospital today marked the official opening of its new $13.5 million Emergency Room, typically the busiest ER in southwestern Pennsylvania with more than 50,000 patient visits each year.

Almost double in size, the new ER houses 46 state-of-the-art treatment rooms capable of handling up to 80,000 patient visits a year. By implementing industry-inspired process engineering production techniques and advanced technologies, patient wait times - the number one cause of emergency department overcrowding and patient dissatisfaction in hospitals throughout the greater Pittsburgh area and the nation - are expected to be greatly reduced, if not eliminated.

The number of emergency room visits at St. Clair continues to rise due to expanded clinical programs, and a diverse service area that includes a growing senior population and the burgeoning suburbs of southern Allegheny and northern Washington counties.

"Greatly expanding our ER is a direct response to the needs of the community," said James M. Collins, president and chief executive officer, St. Clair Hospital. "The new ER is much more than just an expansion in square footage. St. Clair has truly redefined how it delivers emergency care and the patient experience throughout the Hospital. The new ER is the latest example of our commitment to provide state-of-the-art care, close to home."

Designed to make the patient experience as comfortable and as efficient as possible, the number of treatment rooms in the ER has been increased to 46 from 20. The ER is filled with the most advanced health care technology, all smartly housed in a less clinical atmosphere designed to have a calming effect on patients and families alike. Each room is equipped with cardiac monitoring capabilities. The 46 treatment rooms include:
31 acute adult;  Six pediatric-equipped;  Three behavioral and mental health; and  Six "Fast Track," for patients with minor illnesses and injuries.

The ER is staffed by board-certified physicians, physician assistants, certified registered nurse practitioners, a nursing staff specially trained in Emergency Medicine, technicians, and 24/7 pediatric care.

$1.5 million of the new ED's $13.5 million pricetag was a generous gift donated by the Rossin Family Foundation in memory of Peter C. Rossin. Ada Rossin, the wife of the late Mr. Rossin, attended the dedication ceremony and called the new ED "a wonderful addition to St. Clair Hospital and an important expansion of life-saving health care services to the people of the South Hills." Peter C. Rossin was founder, chairman and CEO of Washington, Pa.-based Dynamet and is perhaps best remembered for his charitable contributions to the community.

$500,000 of construction costs was paid for by a grant from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, an initiative of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Federal funding of $487,000 from the Omnibus Appropriations Bill also was applied to the cost of construction.

The new ED includes "Austin's Playroom," a specially designed, child-friendly waiting area for pediatric patients and their siblings, that was constructed through a gift from the Mario Lemieux Foundation and its initiative, The Playroom Project. The playroom is named after Austin Lemieux, the son of former Pittsburgh Penguins star and current Penguins owner, Mario Lemieux, and his wife Nathalie. Mrs. Lemieux, chair of The Playroom Project, and Austin participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Austin's Playroom at today's dedication.

Construction on the new ED began in October 2007. The first phase opened in September and included an addition built from the ground up. The second and final phase commenced in September and involved extensive renovations to the existing ED, which opened in 1995.

"From the moment patients and their families enter the new facility, the entire staff is immediately focused not only on providing the best care, but to make the entire process as comfortable and as fast as possible," said Dr. Christopher DeLuca, chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, St. Clair Hospital. "The entire ER experience has been designed from the patient perspective and with the goal of delivering advanced health care."

Halogen Wins Top HR and Training Award

Halogen Wins Top HR and Training Award

Halogen eLearning Manage™ recognized by Human Resource Executive® Magazine for innovative approach to performance-based learning

Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) September 21, 2009

Halogen Software today announced it has received a Top Training Product award from Human Resource Executive Magazine for its Halogen eLearning Manager™ solution. The company is well known for delivering award winning solutions. Not only has their flagship solution Halogen eAppraisal™ been honored with top awards - Halogen eSuccession™, Halogen eCompensation™, and now Halogen eLearning Manager - have earned this prestigious distinction from Human Resource Executive Magazine. Halogen is focused on delivering innovative products that are "right to market" by addressing real-life requirements of organizations and HR professionals, as well as industry best practices.

Halogen eLearning Manager is the industry's first performance-based learning management system (http://www. halogensoftware. com/products/halogen-elms/), which fully integrates learning with performance appraisals and other key talent management (http://www. halogensoftware. com/products/) functions, giving users a truly seamless, closed loop experience and boosting their return on their talent management investment. Traditionally, performance management and learning management systems have been separate applications. As a result, learning management systems have not delivered on their promise to improve employee performance or drive the effective use of training resources, resulting in the broad user dissatisfaction reported by numerous research groups. Halogen's solution however, fully integrates learning and performance management in a tangible, practical way that's never been done before.

"Each year the quality and quantity of the entries for this award continue to grow," said David Shadovitz, editor in chief of Human Resource Executive®. "Halogen eLearning Manager stands out because it delivers something truly unique, and is built on industry best practices. With this product, HR and learning have a tangible, practical way to integrate learning and performance management, and to drive ROI from training investments."

Halogen eLearning Manager is the first product to truly deliver on current best practices of fully integrating performance (normally managed by HR) and learning (normally managed by OD or Learning Managers) into a single, simple to use system that supports consistent, performance-driven development across the entire organization. Unlike stand alone LMS systems, Halogen's solution uses single workflow engine where all talent management related tasks are in a single user interface. Halogen's fully integrated performance based learning approach also provides shared competency libraries for both learning and performance management, and a single tool to help HR and learning leaders align, appraise, assess and develop their workforce. HR and learning managers have the power to easily manage and configure the system themselves to meet both talent and learning management requirements, without vendor or IT support.

"This award is a great recognition of our commitment to deliver simple to use products that address real customer needs and industry best practices, while delivering outstanding value to our customers," said Paul Loucks, President and CEO of Halogen Software. "Halogen has consistently been recognized by Human Resource Executive Magazine for each of its new modules in recent years. We are thrilled that Halogen eLearning Manager has been recognized for taking an innovative approach to solving a very real problem faced by HR and learning teams."

The prestigious Human Resource Executive Top Training Products award will be presented on the first day of the HR Technology Conference and Expo taking place in Chicago later this month. Each year the editorial staff of Human Resource Executive identifies those HR and training products that provide real value to the HR community. Specifically, judges look for innovative solutions that help HR and learning professionals successfully contribute to their organization's business goals.

President of Shimmering Resumes Offers Professional Resume To Bush Speechwriter, David Frum

President of Shimmering Resumes Offers Professional Resume To Bush Speechwriter, David Frum

Paul Freiberger, the President of Shimmering Resumes, offers to help former Bush speechwriter David Frum with his resume. Frum was fired by the American Enterprise Institute after he criticized the failed Republican strategy on healthcare reform.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 26, 2010

Paul Freiberger, the President of Shimmering Resumes, offers to help former Bush speechwriter David Frum with his resume. Frum was fired by the American Enterprise Institute after he criticized the failed Republican strategy on healthcare reform.

“If a Conservative Think Tank can terminate George Bush’s speechwriter, then I will write an executive resume (http://www. shimmeringresumes. com? Click=575) to help him in his reputation battle,” says Paul Freiberger, president of Shimmering Resumes, a nationwide resume writing and career counseling firm, based in San Mateo, California

Frum was fired today from his job at the right-wing American Enterprise Institute after criticizing the Republican Party’s lack of willingness to take any action to reform our health care system.

“I will write a professional resume (http://www. shimmeringresumes. com? Click=575) that does everything possible to present the virtues of a Republican willing to recognize the ineptitude of his party,” said Freiberger.

“In the coming weeks, the results of the healthcare reform will begin to take effect, resulting in curbs on insurance companies denying coverage for pre-existing conditions, and an expansion of prescription drug coverage for the elderly,” said Freiberger.

It’s usually not a good idea to criticize a former employer, added Freiberger. “But in this case, Frum will look smarter each day and every time he points his finger at the failings of the Republican strategy.

“David Frum spoke his mind and lost his job. When I write his resume I will point out that he can help others speak their minds, without causing them to lose their jobs,” said Freiberger.

“This is a resume challenge of the first order,” Freiberger says, “and not just because it must demonstrate the speechwriting talent of a Bush speechwriter. “It’s the chance to right a wrong, and I look forward to it.”
