Seattle Liposuction Doctor Urges Choosing Safety Over Savings

Seattle Liposuction Doctor Urges Choosing Safety Over Savings

The economic downturn is prompting a rash of bargain and discount cosmetic surgery offers, but Seattle liposuction surgeon Dr. Braden Stridde warns against choosing surgeons based on financial considerations alone. He explains that safe procedures require surgeons with training, experience, and technologically advanced solutions like Smartlipo™ MPX.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) December 19, 2008

The unsteady economy has some people looking to scale down their Seattle cosmetic surgery plans and save money through the "bargain" liposuction procedures that many physicians are now offering. However, board-certified plastic surgeons, like Dr. Braden Stridde of Seattle's Puget Sound Plastic Surgery (www. psplasticsurgery. com), warn that low-cost liposuction procedures may carry significant risks, and that patients must make safety their top priority, even for small-scale procedures.

"Patients need to be aware of the danger of focusing solely on financial cost at the expense of safety," Dr. Stridde says. "I have seen an increasing number of patients who want corrections for procedures that led to unsatisfying results because they had this misconception that in Seattle, 'liposuction is liposuction.' Too many people are finding out the hard way that a surgeon's qualifications and techniques really matter."

Dr. Stridde says that liposuction candidates should focus first and foremost on the quality of the surgeon and the surgical environment. "Start out looking for two things," he says, "first, certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Claiming certification in 'Cosmetic Surgery' is not the same as being certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Second, patients should make sure that the doctor is utilizing the most up-to-date techniques."

Certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery is a deciding factor for most patients because it requires thorough training and more extensive surgical experience than surgeons who are not specifically certified by this prestigious certifying board. However, board certification alone is not a guarantee of good results. The surgeons experience with the latest proven technologies is a good indicator of their commitment to excellent outcomes.

Contemporary liposuction procedures are now performed using a sometimes confusing array of surgical technologies. Older techniques such as tumescent liposuction and power-assisted liposuction (PAL) have made it easier to perform the procedure and provided satisfactory outcomes. More advanced technologies like Vaser® LipoSelection, the latest generation of ultrasonic liposuction, have produced improved results for many patients. The newest generation of laser liposuction, the Smartlipo™ MPX system, sets a new standard for quality in liposuction results for a greater variety of patients.

Smartlipo MPX combines two carefully selected wavelengths of laser energy that selectively destroy fat cells, minimize bleeding, and allow for significantly improved skin tightening for Seattle liposuction patients. The skin tightening benefits are producing noticeably enhance results for patients who previously would not have been good candidates for traditional liposuction.

"With the MPX system," Dr. Stridde explains, "the dual laser technology and ultrafine laser probe allow us to perform a level of precision liposculpture that didn't exist with earlier techniques. The precision of the Smartlipo MPX system makes it safer, and results in more consistent and predictable results than we see with non-laser approaches."

For both patients and surgeons, Dr. Stridde explains, "the bottom line is safety and results. Patients turn to discount options because they hope they will get more for their money, but discount plastic surgery is usually not a bargain. In reality they should be looking at other factors, like a surgeon's experience and use of newer, more precise technologies."

Dr. Stridde says that plastic surgery practices in Seattle where experienced surgeons are using advanced technologies, overall costs sometimes can be lower as the need for secondary procedures is minimized. "More importantly, though, these procedures facilitate the real goal of liposuction: beautiful body contouring results. In the end, less expensive procedures may lead to unsatisfying results. I encourage anyone interested in a body contouring procedure to do their homework and visit with several surgeons so they can decide who provides the best overall value for their unique goals and long-term health needs."

At Puget Sound Plastic Surgery (www. psplasticsurgery. com), Braden Stridde, MD performs a wide range of today's most current and advanced cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures. Dr. Stridde is founder and Medical Director of the practice, which has been helping Seattle women and men look their best since 1993. He received his MD from Northwestern University in Chicago, and continued his surgical training at multiple prestigious institutions from San Francisco to Scotland and from Dartmouth Medical School to the University of Washington. Dr. Braden Stridde is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Stevia and Candida Albicans

Stevia and Candida Albicans

The most important factor in controling candida is to remove sugar from your diet. Remove it from your diet completely. Sugar feeds yeast like nothing else.

PORTLAND, OR (PRWEB) September 27, 2005

Candida Albicans, a diploid fungus (a form of yeast) is the causal agent of opportunistic infections in humans, the most common being oral and vaginal infections. But, I would like to add that not only women suffer from Candida but also men in a variety of forms.

Among the many organisms that live in the human mouth and digestive tract is the yeast Candida Albicans, which under normal circumstances lives in 80 percent of the human population with no harmful effects generally, although overgrowth results in Candidiasis. Candidiasis. Candidiasis is commonly known as "thrush", and is a common condition that is usually easily cured in most people.

Health symptoms and complications of Candida may include: bladder infections, energy loss, puffy eyes, fatigue, food cravings, hay fever, heartburn, hyperactivity, inflammation, itching, insomnia, migraine, mouth infections, rashes, sore throat, thrush and thyroid problems.

As well as anti-fungal drugs and eliminating antibiotics, diet is an important part of most Candida treatment programs. The purpose of a Candida reduction diet is to eliminate sugary starchy foods that "feed" the yeast infestation, by sticking with a restricted foods list. Once you get on the anti-candida diet you can expect to see an improvement within 2-4 weeks. Once you have the Candida under control then you can slowly start adding restricted foods back into your diet.

Here are a few tips for sticking with a Candida-reducing diet.

Try to eliminate your carbohydrate intake. Sugars are what feeds Candida. So it is important to minimize or eliminate carbohydrate intake for a while.

Reduce food that contain yeast. Foods that contain yeast should be completely eliminated. These are foods like, bread, beer, wine, cheese.

Eliminate dairy from your diet. Dairy foods should be removed from the diet because Candida can reduce the body's ability to digest fats which can result in a build up of fatty acids in your system. You donÂ’t want that.

Stay away from mushrooms, Brie and moldy or mold-containing foods. This will exacerbate your Candida.

Stop eating processed and packaged foods if you havenÂ’t already. These foods and drinks are loaded with sugar, high glycemic carbohydrates, yeast or other ingredients that will feed the Candida.

The biggest thing to remove is sugar. Remove it from your diet completely. Sugar feeds yeast like nothing else. Start reading food labels and if you see anything that ends in "ose" such as maltose, dextrose, sucrose or even maltodextrin stay away from it. Basically anything that tastes sweet with the exception of stevia, donÂ’t eat it.

Using pure Stevioside – white stevia powder, a natural plant extract that is around 200 – 300 times sweeter than sugar can satisfy you craving for sweets. You can add stevia to hot or cold beverages as well as using it for cooking and baking.

Here are a few tips when using stevia.

When baking with pure stevia powder mix 1/8 of a teaspoon with 1 cup of unsweetened apple sauce. Because stevia is 250 times sweeter than sugar you lose a lot of volume from replacing the sugar.

When recipes ask for brown sugar you can use an equal amount of Steviva Brand Stevia Blend with 2 tablespoons of molasses added. If you are not using the blend and need a brown sugar substitute then you can use 1 cup of unsweetened apple sauce 1/8 of a teaspoon of Steviva Brand Stevia Powder and 2 tablespoons of molasses.

I would like to add that aside from eliminating sugar, grains, fruits and high glycemic carbohydrate you should drink at least 4 quarts of clean filtered water. Drinking copious amounts of water. flushes the Candida out of your system as well as aiding in stabilizing blood sugar level. Instead of soft drinks or powdered drink mixes that are loaded with chemicals and sugar, I suggest is adding the juice of half a lemon to 32 ounces of water with a sprinkle of Steviva Brand Stevia Powder. Aside from being less than 2 carbs, you will get the health benefits that the stevia provides along with the vitamin C and electrolytes that lemon have. You can substitute limes for lemons if you get bored and break the routine even more by adding a little unsweetened cranberry juice.

Web Magazine Endorses John Kerry for President

Web Magazine Endorses John Kerry for President.

John F. Kerry promises an honest, optimistic Presidency. The management and message of his political campaign attests to this.

Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) October 21, 2004

The United States of America is divided today. People shout at each other about politics. In 2000, America was not like this. George W. BushÂ’s slandering and lies have encouraged bad behavior across the country. This includes the stealing of Kerry Edwards lawn signs, which has become a partisan fad.

John F. Kerry promises an honest, optimistic Presidency. The management and message of his political campaign attests to this.

While promising to reign in the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest one percent of us, Kerry has outlined an agenda to improve the qualities of our lives:

Healthcare: John Kerry promises to reduce the prices of prescription drugs by allowing the re-importation of prescription medication from Canada. Kerry is not a rubber stamp for Big Pharma. His fiscally responsible healthcare plan will see to it that every child in the nation has medical insurance and that alone is reason enough for his endorsement.

Foreign Policy: John Kerry will restore and strengthen the diplomatic alliances that have been ignored and, indeed, spat upon in the last four years. When John Kerry greets world leaders, he does so with integrity and respect. Rebuilding those alliances will be difficult and will require a lot of hand-pressing but I believe Senator Kerry is up to the task.

Environment and Energy: John Kerry plans to invest and promote alternative sources of energy to reduce our dependence on Saudi ArabiaÂ’s limited resources and to reduce the burden on people at the gas pump.

Kerry will join the majority of world leaders in promoting the Kyoto Treaty, which establishes goals for the reduction of poisonous emissions. Kerry will not drill for oil in our Alaskan wildlife sanctuaries.

Political Ethic: George Bush has been the steward of a White House that has leaked the name of CIA agent; Bush’s White House refuses inquiry and, when there is public outcry - the 9/11 Commission being a rare example – Bush’s White House degraded the Commission’s authority and substance on the Sunday morning shows; Bush’s White House openly slanders our public servants, namely Richard Clarke. There is no doubt in our minds that Kerry’s White House will have a higher ethic.

In the last four years, the Bush Administration has done irreparable harm to the country you and I love. It could very well take decades to undo the damage. Voting John Kerry for President is a great start. Fink Tank 3000 endorses John Kerry for President with conviction and patriotism.

New Dermatologist Recommended Hair Care System Guarantees to Rejuvenate Dry Over-Treated Hair and Tame Your Tangles

New Dermatologist Recommended Hair Care System Guarantees to Rejuvenate Dry Over-Treated Hair and Tame Your Tangles

The hair care professionals at Derjers International (http://www. derjers. com) have developed a new and affordable 3-step system for treating and rejuvenating over-treated hair that was damaged by hair coloring, perms, and other chemical hair treatments. This new system is called Rejuve 3 and it guaranteed to rejuvenate chemically damaged hair.

Detroit, MI (PRWEB) September 3, 2008

Women of the world smile. The hair care professionals at Derjers International (http://www. derjers. com (http://www. derjers. com)) have developed a new and affordable 3-step system for treating and rejuvenating over-treated hair that was damaged by hair coloring, perms, and other chemical hair treatments. This new system is called Rejuve 3 and it guaranteed to rejuvenate chemically damaged hair.

Used exclusively by Dermatologists and hair care clinics for over 20 years, Rejuve 3 is an advanced 3-step hair care restoration solution that is now available as an over-the-counter product to the general public.

Rejuve 3 is a proven system that works at the cellular level, unclogging pores and stimulating blood circulation to the scalp to promote healthy hair growth, deliver nutrients and moisture to each hair follicle. By going to the "root" of the problem, Rejuve 3 successfully restores and rejuvenates damaged and over-treated hair, adding volume and shine and improving the overall health and manageability.

Angie Wright, a Rejuve 3 user from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, states, "I have really thick, curly, long hair that takes a lot of time to tame and style. Since I use so many hair products, I normally can't go a day without washing it, but when I use Rejuve 3 I don't have to wash for at least 2 days since my hair feels so amazing! What impressed me was that since I use a lot of wax and hair gel, I normally have to shampoo several times to get it out, but with Rejuve Step 1, it washes out with one wash. It's incredible. I literally leave Step 1 in for a few minutes and then I can just brush my hair right through while in the bath. This shocked me the first time I used it because my hair is so knotty and curly that I have never been able to do this with any other product. What's even greater is that when I use Rejuve 3, I barely even have to put any products in my hair because it makes it so easy to style. It makes my curls nice and very soft. I love it!"

Rejuve 3 can be ordered online at http://www. derjers. com (http://www. derjers. com).

Free samples of Rejuve 3 are available to the media. To request your free sample, please call (313) 887-5184 or send an email to Axel Poessy at a. poessy@derjers. com.

Egger EURODEKOR® MDF Opens the Door for Successful Restoration Project

Egger EURODEKOR® MDF Opens the Door for Successful Restoration Project

Decorative MDF panels from Egger have been specified for one of the most innovative and stunning private new build projects in the U. K.

(PRWEB) February 24, 2006

Decorative MDF panels from Egger have been specified for one of the most innovative and stunning private new build projects in the U. K.

Egger’s light grey and black EURODEKOR® MDF have been supplied directly to Haddon Lake House, a contemporary restoration project nearing completion on the Isle of Wight.

Haddon Lake House is an eco-friendly self-build set in a two-acre lakeside and walled garden, part of the leisure grounds of a significant Victorian estate dating from 1832 in the Undercliff, an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Island.

Egger EURODEKOR® MDF was specified by initial project designer Mike Rainey of local architects Rainey, Petrie, Johns Ltd.

The grey MDF provides eye-catching wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling high wardrobe doors in the huge 36-foot long main bedroom – the only one in the house.

A built-in alcove for the double bed, set at the other end of the bedroom to provide a colour co-ordinated look, has also been created using Egger’s EURODEKOR® MDF.

The minimalist look has been maintained through the use of MDF in black to provide stylish yet hardwearing lids for the window storage seats. Special hinge and latch mechanisms have been incorporated which enable the lids to open simply by being touched.

Elsewhere, Egger has supplied butcher-block beech postformed worktops for a series of tables in the visitors’ studio and workshop area. Not only does this provide high impact resistance but offers a stylish and abrasion resistant addition to the room.

EURODEKOR® MDF is made from a decorative printed-paper covering a fibreboard core. This is a pre-bonded process whereby the finished material requires no further fabrication, reducing costs and manufacturing time.

Phillippa Lambert, who owns Haddon Lake House with husband Steve Lambert, said that the project is so innovative that it is being put forward for a series of self-build design awards in 2006.

She added: “We wanted high quality natural looking products throughout the house, which would last and provide a colour co-ordinated finish.

“The use of Egger EURODEKOR® MDF in the bedroom and living room has certainly provided this and added to the overall stunning look.

“What’s more, Egger has been extremely co-operative with a very responsive service and technical back-up.”

Egger is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of laminate and wood-based panel products.

Available in a wide variety of designs, colours and textures, decorative products are also an ideal material for applications in the commercial sector such as hotel, retail and leisure and for the public sector including healthcare and education.

Egger also offer their décors in laminate format, as well as melamine faced chipboard (MFC) and melamine edging, to provide a fully co-ordinated product offer allowing colour matched materials to be used in combination throughout a project.

IAB President Randall Rothenberg to Testify at House Small Business Committee Hearing : Will Outline How Interactive Advertising Fuels Small Business Growth

IAB President Randall Rothenberg to Testify at House Small Business Committee Hearing : Will Outline How Interactive Advertising Fuels Small Business Growth

Randall Rothenberg, President and CEO of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), will testify as an expert witness today about the critical role that Internet advertising plays for small businesses in the U. S. economy during the U. S. House of Representatives Small Business Committee Subcommittee on Regulations, Healthcare and Trade hearing.

WASHINGTON (PRWEB) June 25, 2008

The IAB is the trade association for the interactive media industry in the United States. It represents hundreds of small interactive publishers and provides a voice for them in Washington, D. C. on important legislative and regulatory issues.

"Small business Web sites are the Mom & Pop grocery stores of the World Wide Web. Just as the local retailer anchors a geographic community, these sites anchor communities of interest that span towns, cities, states, even nations," stated Rothenberg. "They do this with their content and they finance their content through advertising."

Interactive advertising revenues totaled more than $21 billion in 2007 and were estimated at $5.8 billion in the first quarter of 2008, up 18.2 % over the same period in 2007. Small companies' share of online ad spending in search engines is more than double the share of medium or large companies, according to the research firm Outsell, Inc. Research done by the consulting firm Booz & Co. for the IAB, the Association of National Advertisers, and the American Association of Advertising Agencies shows that 40% of IAB members' revenues comes from local businesses.

According to the Pew Internet & American Life Project, more than 32 million American adults have used online classified ads for selling or buying. eBay, the best known auction site, says 768,000 small businesses across the U. S. use this online marketplace as their primary or secondary marketing channel. There are more than 112 million blogs worldwide; in the U. S., as of July 2006, some 12 million American adults, about 8% of the American population, were publishing their own blogs, which were being read by 57 million others, according to Pew.

"Millions of people are making their livings creating and operating Web venues that house well-targeted advertisements, but these entrepreneurs are being threatened by the specter of unnecessary government regulation that would destroy or severely limit their ability to advertise their wares and services online," said Rothenberg.

Proposals are currently before the United States Congress and several state legislatures that would constrain online advertising. "The IAB believes that the proposed regulations would have a disproportionately negative impact on small publishers whose advertising sales are largely or entirely managed by ad networks, and that government must be prudent in ensuring that no regulation is drawn that would curtail interactive advertising's potential to continue to support small business owners," Rothenberg said.

Recently, the IAB opened a new class of membership for small interactive publishers that offers small publishers special pricing for IAB events, training programs, access to networking events around the country, business insurance and protection programs, and membership to IAB's new Small Publisher Committee.

About the IAB:

Founded in 1996, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (www. iab. net) represents over 375 leading interactive companies that actively engage in and support the sale of interactive advertising. IAB members are responsible for selling over 86% of online advertising in the United States. On behalf of its members, the IAB is dedicated to the growth of the interactive advertising marketplace, of interactive's share of total marketing spend, and of its members' share of total marketing spend. The IAB evaluates and recommends standards and practices, fields interactive effectiveness research, and educates marketers, agencies, and media companies, as well as the wider business community, about the value of interactive advertising.

It works with Nordic's AP1 and LO1 radio chips and equips designers with all the necessary tools required to interface ANT radios to the C17 MCU. The ANT DKT3 has also been upgraded to include reference code for interface to the C17 MCU.

"Epson is pleased to partner with ANT in this critical advancement," remarked Hideaki Yokouchi, GM of the IC Sensor ASSP Business Promotion Dept., Seiko Epson. "ANT is the leading ultra-low power wireless solution available and when combined with the C17 MCU, it enables rapid development of state of the art products."

Global chip provider Nordic Semiconductor of Norway remains committed to efficient ULP solutions according to Svenn-Tore Larsen, CEO of ULP RF specialist, Nordic. "The availability of an ANT module in Epson's C17 MCU development platform means engineers can now utilize an RF design tool that combines a proven ULP wireless protocol (ANT), class-leading 2.4GHz ULP transceivers (Nordic), and an MCU technical design environment (Epson) targeted specifically at small ULP mobile device applications," comments Svenn-Tore Larsen. ElectroBlast Introduced to Market as Sports and Soft Drinks Key to School Children Obesity

Headlines across the media warn of a growing obesity problem in the USA. Not only are snack, fried and fast foods big contributors, but a burgeoning consumption of sports drinks and soft drinks add to the list of what makes us fat. School systems around the country are removing soda machines in an effort to trim down the students. Sugar-free drinks may raise questions as to the safety of the chemicals being used as sweeteners. So what is the solution? Plain water?

Sheffield, MA (PRWEB) November 15, 2006

Headlines across the media warn of a growing obesity problem in the USA. Not only are snack, fried and fast foods big contributors, but a burgeoning consumption of soft drinks add to the list of what makes us fat. In an effort to stay healthy many consumers are turning to sports drinks and flavored waters. Again, we find many of these are laden with sugar or sugar-substitutes such as high-fructose corn syrup. These too can put on the pounds. School systems around the country are removing soda machines in an effort to trim down the students. Coaches are looking for alternatives to popular sports drinks and in the meantime are watering down the electrolyte drinks they offer their players. Sugar-free drinks may raise questions as to the safety of the chemicals being used as sweeteners. So what is the solution? Plain water?

Bottled water is being targeted as mineral deficient due to the purification process. Signs of mineral deficiencies are showing up in declining cognitive abilities, fatigue, heart function and immune response. Some bottled water industry members are responding by adding sodium, potassium and/or calcium, magnesium to their drink. The problem is that the body utilizes more than just those minerals. We eat a diet of foods that mostly are grown in mineral-deficient soil due to modern farming methods, and now instead of deep well water, we are drinking processed water. Where can we get the essential trace-minerals needed by the body? Supplementation is the answer but many folks aren't tuned into taking their vitamin/mineral pills every day. A liquid supplement that not only could easily be added to water but that would taste good to encourage people to drink more could be the answer. And if that supplement didn't have high-calorie sugars or any artificial sweeteners, it may help solve the problem of mineral-deficiency and be a viable alternative to obesity generating soft and sports drinks.

A Sheffield, Massachusetts based company did just that. LJB Piper has created a liquid supplement that when added to water contains less than five calories and with a pleasant flavor that is delivered without using sugar or artificial sweeteners. The newly improved electroBlast has been well received by sporting enthusiasts who include athletes, runners, bikers, hikers, military personnel, diabetics, dieters and by people interested in a naturally-healthy beverage. Many parents have voiced their thanks because they don't have to water down this electrolyte drink to limit their child's intake of sodium or sugar. Parents of military personnel fighting in hot climates such as Iraq have said it's a lifesaver. It seems this product is filling a long-needed niche in the sports drink marketplace.

The company took special care to make electroBlast a naturally better product. Each electroBlast electro-pak contains a combination of electrolyte-forming minerals, including Selenium, Chromium, Manganese, Zinc, Cobalt, Silica, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Iodine, Boron, and Copper. The proprietary micronutrient blend of trace minerals, which is the cornerstone of the ingredients, has been marketed as an electrolyte formula for over two decades. electroBlast is an improved portable version of this formula and is naturally low-calorie with no artificial sweeteners or sugar. More information is available on their website: www. electroblast. com.

Hip and Knee Pain: When is it Time to Consider Surgery?

Hip and Knee Pain: When is it Time to Consider Surgery?

Hospital for Special Surgery encourages arthritis patients to consider joint replacement surgery when pain becomes severe and disabling.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 23, 2010

Arthritis patients who experience disabling pain associated with limp, loss of function and mobility should ask their doctors about joint replacement surgery, says Hospital for Special Surgery (http://www. hss. edu), a leader in arthritis treatment and research.

“As the progression of arthritis cannot be stopped, patients should consider joint replacement surgery when the pain in an arthritic joint is severe and disabling,” says Alejandro González Della Valle, M. D., orthopaedic surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

The best candidates for surgery are people who have seen deterioration in their quality of life or ability to perform simple, daily tasks. Going for a walk or performing a non-impact recreational sport should not be difficult.

Before arthritic pain is severe enough to consider surgery, some simple measures can be implemented to diminish pain and promote joint health. Hospital for Special Surgery provides the following tips:
Respect the pain you feel. Perform activities only to the point of discomfort.  Plan ahead, and be realistic about what you can do.  Bend from the knees when lifting and carrying weights over 30-40 pounds.  Reduce repetitive impact on joints, and distribute weight evenly.  When walking more than four or five miles, wear well-padded shoes with rubber soles.  Consider losing weight to reduce the stress you put on your joints.   Seek conservative treatment. In its early stages, arthritis pain can be managed by acetaminophen and anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin, naproxen and ibuprofen. Some patients benefit from injections into the joint (intra-articular injections).

The Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement Service at Hospital for Special Surgery is the world leader in hip, knee and surgical arthritis patient treatment, education, innovation and research. For more information, visit www. hss. edu (http://www. hss. edu).

Global Cheese Consumption to Reach 21 Million Metric Tons by 2015, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc

Global Cheese Consumption to Reach 21 Million Metric Tons by 2015, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

GIA announces the release of a comprehensive global report on Cheese Markets. Despite witnessing a temporary deceleration in growth in the year 2008 and early 2009, the world market for cheese, by consumption is projected to reach 21 million metric tons by 2015. Growth in this market will primarily be driven by resurgence of demand fundamentals, such as improving income levels, strengthening consumer sentiment/confidence, waxing propensity to spend, and increase in the adoption of western-styled food across Asian countries.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) February 9, 2010

Cheese, an age old dairy delicacy prepared from milk of sheep, goat, or cow continues to be a popular addition to every day diet, thanks to the high amount of protein, calcium, minerals and vitamins it contains. The consumption of cheese, over the years, has improved significantly across the world and subsequently the art of cheese making has now evolved into a lucrative business.

Though the ongoing economic recession put a check on the cheese consumption pattern across the world, more so importantly in the developing nations, the future outlook for global cheese market still remains bright with consumption of cheese projected to grow by more than 20% between 2008-2015. Purchasing decisions, being increasingly guided by price, cheaper yet healthy and wholesome foods are surfacing back into the spotlight. Consumers are additionally exhibiting shifting preferences from imported cheese brands to locally produced cheese. Post recession, the demand for organic cheese is slated to make a comeback, with manufacturers expected to expand their product offerings. Innovation and product diversification will be the most prominent market strategies for manufacturers and suppliers in the post recession period. The product mix is poised to change from traditional types of cheeses to new cheeses that suit the demand in developing dairy markets like China and India. The growing demand for dairy products that meet consumers changing diet and nutritional needs will result into strong growth for innovative and healthier cheese products, such as, lactose-free goat cheese products, and half-fat and reduced fat cheeses.

Europe and the United States lead the global cheese market, by consumption as stated by the new market research report on cheese market (http://www. strategyr. com/Cheese_Market_Report. asp). However, with consumption levels for cheese in such developed markets nearing saturation, the focus of the global cheese industry now shifts towards emerging markets such as Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Cheese consumption in developed economies will be fraught by challenges, such as a matured market profile, limited growth in population, and most importantly the fast aging population, which account for lesser per capita consumption than younger generation. Therefore, any further development in cheese consumption within these markets is likely to be marginal and only associated with changes in form and type of dairy products consumed. Meanwhile, developing markets such as Asia, Latin America and the combined market of Middle East & Africa, are projected to display superior growth rates over the analysis period 2006-2015. Large population, and rising incomes in these nations will prove to be the major driving factors for exceptional growth in dairy consumption, and cheese is bound to feel the trickling down effect of the forecasted sanguine business conditions in the upstream dairy industry.

Key players operating in this market include Arla Foods, amba., Belaya Reka Holding, Bongrain, SA., Belgioioso Cheese, Inc., Crystal Farms Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Inc., Dairy Farmers of America, Inc., Derivados De Leche La Esmeralda, Dairy Crest Group, Plc., Fonterra Group Cooperative Limited, Fromageries Bel, SA., Groupe Danone, S. A., Great Lakes Cheese Company, Inc., Grupo Industrial Lala, S. A. de C. V., Kraft Foods, Inc., Land O' Lakes, Inc., Leprino Foods Company, Inc., Lactalis McLelland, Ltd., Meiji Dairies, Corp., North Downs Dairy Co, Ltd., Parmalat, S. p.A., Snow Brand Milk Products Co, LTD., Sancor Cooperativas Unidas Limitada, Saputo, Inc., Specialty Cheese Co, Inc., Tillamook County Creamery Association, Valio Ltd, Wyke Farms, Ltd., Wisconsin Cheese Group Inc.,

The report titled "Cheese: A Global Strategic Business Report" announced by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., provides a comprehensive review of market trends, product overview, product introductions/innovations, and recent industry activity. The study analyzes market data and analytics in terms of consumption (in '000 metric tons) for the United States, Canada, Japan, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Rest of World.

Sleeping with the iPhone

Sleeping with the iPhone

The highly acclaimed 5-week treatment program for insomnia, developed by Dr. Gregg Jacobs, is released today as an iPhone and iPod touch application. The Sleep Better and Conquer Insomnia application is based on Dr. Jacobs 20 years of extensive research and clinical practice at Harvard Medical School and the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center involving over ten thousand insomnia patients.

New York (PRWEB) July 7, 2009

Mental Workout (http://www. mentalworkout. com), a company specializing in scientifically based guided meditations and therapeutic programs developed by world-renowned experts, and the company behind the popular iPhone application, Mindfulness Meditation (http://www. mentalworkout. com/store/iphone/mindfulness-meditation/), today announces a partnership with Dr. Gregg D. Jacobs to help people sleep better - using the iPhone.

"With more than 74 percent of American adults experiencing sleeping problems, and some sleep disorders being serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental, and emotional functioning, we wanted to make the best therapeutic program available to the masses," says Mickey Beyer-Clausen, founder of Mental Workout. "This application is designed to be easily accessible, easy to use, and time sensitive."

In addition to the scientifically proven 5-week program, the application also includes an interactive sleep diary and a progress reporting system to help the sleep deprived users keep track of their sleeping patterns and improvements. The application is priced at $19.99 or - for many - equivalent to one week's supply of sleep medication.

Sleeping well is crucial because sleep deprivation is associated with serious health problems such as obesity, depression, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Emotional well-being, performance, productivity, and mental abilities are all linked with sleeping well.

"I see this as a wonderful opportunity to help people sleep better, which has been my primary motivation since I began researching insomnia more than 20 years ago," said Dr. Gregg D. Jacobs. "By teaming up with Mental Workout, my proven 5-week program is now available to everyone in a format that's eminently affordable, accessible, and user-friendly."

New Delhi, India (PRWEB) February 7, 2009

Santhigram is in the mission of offering genuine "Kerala specific Ayurvedic Therapies" for the well-being of mankind. Santhigram is the first and only ISO 9001:2000 certified provider of the unique Kerala specific Ayurvedic Services in India and is successfully running two health Centers in Delhi, India (Safdarjung Enclave & Paschim Vihar) for more than a decade. Due to the increased demand of its authentic and result-oriented ayurvedic panchakarma services, it launched its third Centre in Delhi, Sector 12 Dwarka, which was formally inaugurated by the renowned Physician of Complimentary medicine and spiritual healer Dr. Ambika Nair on February 3rd, 2009.

Santhigram has the unique distinction of being the only ISO certified Global health care company to have launched Kerala specific Ayurvedic centers in the Western world. They are operating quality Ayurvedic Panchakarma therapy centers in the UK and USA. Mr. Gopinathan Nair, the Chairman & Managing Director of Santhigram Group was honoured with the most prestigious "Super Achiever of Today's India Award" by Bharat Nirman in April 2008 for his outstanding contribution for taking Ayurveda to greater heights.

The World Health Organization defines health "as a state of complete physical, mental and Social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity". Physical Health, Mental Health and Social well-being are the three important pillars of health in a human being. Ayurveda is known as the "Science of Life". It is derived from two Sanskrit terms "Ayur" which means life and "Veda" which means knowledge. Ayurveda is the knowledge of life and longevity, is the oldest, most comprehensive scientific discipline, a complete health care system or healing system that was preached, practiced and documented in the ancient times by omniscient sages. This knowledge was revealed to them in their spiritual pursuits and was then dissipated to mankind around 5000 years ago for their well-being.

The current synthetic lifestyle of modern man has led to many health hazards. The stress and strain of day-to-day life is a major factor for many chronic diseases. Lack of exercise, polluted environment and climatically unsuitable menu further drains away energy. There are no side-effect-free treatments in the modern system of medicine for ailments like Arthritis, Spondylitis, Lumbago, Slip Disc, Frozen Shoulder, Stress & Strain, Sciatica, sinusitis, depression etc. However thousands of years back, in antiquity, remains a science that is today gaining wide acceptance and popularity, a system of medicine which could deal with its natural remedies, most of the so called incurable diseases. The science, the mystery, that is "Ayurveda" was preached and practiced in ancient times by the omniscient sages. As revealed to them in their spiritual pursuit, it evolved into a complete health-care system. But the modern medicine has put this science in the shade, albeit temporarily. The failure of modern medicine to counter these ailments without side effects has again brought the science into the limelight.

The basic philosophy of Ayurveda is to make people aware of their life style, diet, exercise and mental activities to achieve a prefect balance in mind, body and soul. Literally, it focuses on uninterrupted physical, mental and spiritual happiness and fulfillment. So, Ayurveda focuses on absolute perfect health and not disease. On the other hand, the modern medicine stresses only on the body and neglects the mind, senses and the soul. Any infirmity in the mind, senses and soul leads to illness in the Ayurvedic definition.

The system of Ayurveda has evolved into a most practical and sensible preventive system in the world over the years through processes of experience, observation, experimentation and intuition. It is practiced intact even in today's technology-driven world. Ayurvedic Panchakarma Therapy has methods to totally rejuvenate the body and mind. These procedures improve the physical and mental activity measurably. While modern systems prescribe medicines which concentrate on maladies, Ayurveda focuses its main attention on health, its insistence on keeping the mind and spirit strong by orbiting the inherent vital strength with herbal remedies and natural invigorating methods.

The popularity of Ayurvedic medicines and philosophy is fast growing even in most Western countries due to the growing popularity of Yoga. It is simultaneously social, spiritual, emotional, psychological and medical science. It has gained significance in this modern world due to its uncannily holistic approach to the well-being of the individuals. In the health care centers, Ayurveda is the governing principle behind integrating treatments and developing specific life style management programs. Founded on the wholeness of mind, body and spirit, the art and science of Ayurveda is emerging as an important health care option even in other part of the world. Holistic health is one of the trends of the modern world and complementary medicines is viewed by many as a solution to the rising incidence of chronic illness and diseases and spiraling health and medical care costs.

E-Deals: A Gift for One, Turns into a Gift for All

E-Deals: A Gift for One, Turns into a Gift for All

Bucking the perceived schism between electronics and natural medicines, www. E-DealsNow. com provides products for both digital artists and people who take natural remedies. Recently, the webstore added an informational blog to their expanding site.

Fremont, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2008

E-DealsNow. com came off to a bit strange start, at least when compared to other websites. "Actually, it was a birthday present for my grandpa," said co-founder Samantha Dolan. "It's been an ongoing process to get things off the ground, but I believe we're headed in the right direction."

Launching in April 2008, E-DealsNow. com is a shared between Dolan and her grandfather, in which each of them has control over the site's content -- Dolan's being digital art and her grandfather taking over the store's natural remedies.

"It's a little family business," Dolan explained. "It's a combination of both of our hobbies."

For Dolan, her contributions include a bevy of high quality, and affordable, devices such as scanners, digital cameras, digital tablets and hard drives. On the natural remedy side, there are medicines to help with weight loss, allergies, sleep patterns and boosting immune systems.

With a diverse catalog, Dolan plans on expanding E-Deals' current product line: "We're trying to add Adobe products. I'm always keeping an eye open on new scanners and digital cameras. We're also going to add pet remedies."

While Dolan continues to add more to the site, she has also taken liberty to add a blog (www. EDealsBlog. com) to the webstore. "It will contain informational and personal stories," said Dolan of the blog. "I plan on adding peoples' digital art, perhaps some of my own work."

For how paradoxical it may seem, the medicinal and electronic products that are on E-DealsNow. com go well together. Dolan is able to pique the interests of artists, while her grandfather's take on natural medicines promote a healthy alternative, truly working on mind and body.

About the Company:
E-DealsNow. com is a part of E-Deals, LLC. The California-based company has plans on expanding by adding its own natural remedy store and has taken stride by creating the informational blog, EDealsBlog. com.

Immunitor files application for Phase III clinical trial

Immunitor files application for Phase III clinical trial

Privately held Thai biotech company, Immunitor Corporation Co., Ltd, has submitted to the Thai FDA the application for Phase III clinical trial.

Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) February 10, 2004

Privately held Thai biotech company, Immunitor Corporation Co., Ltd, has submitted to the Thai FDA the application for Phase III clinical trial. The application is based on pending investigational R&D drug permit that was granted in 2000. The primary endpoint of the trial is aimed at confirming the beneficial property of V-1 Immunitor (V1) shown for AIDS-associated wasting. When approved, the study will be carried out by the clinical team of Dr. Orapun Metadilogkul, the President of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association of Thailand at Rajavithi General Hospital in Bangkok – the largest public hospital of the Ministry of Public Health.

Recently published retrospective, large-scale study in 650 AIDS patients demonstrated that V1 was safe, effective, and highly promising as an inexpensive therapy for the management of opportunistic infections and AIDS-associated decline in body mass (http://www. nature. com/nature/view/040122.html#6 (http://www. nature. com/nature/view/040122.html#6)). The probability value obtained in this study (P=0.00000000000000065) indicates that obtained results were non-random and highly significant statistically. These findings support the results of open label phase I study published two years ago and of placebo-controlled phase II study completed last year.

V-1 Immunitor is an orally available therapeutic AIDS vaccine, which has been licensed in Thailand and certain countries in Africa as a dietary supplement. The vaccine elicits mucosal immune response in the gut, which appears to result in reversal of weight loss in 76% of AIDS patients. Several published clinical trials have shown that V1 is safer and cheaper than standard antiviral therapy.

The Phase III trial seeking licensure for AIDS-related wasting represents a "streamlining" of the Company's approval strategy. Obtaining drug label for such an indication is a stepping stone for Immunitor’s ongoing research program aimed at developing effective and safe vaccine for treatment and prevention of HIV."

Principal Investigator, Dr. Aldar S. Bourinbaiar, the Scientific Director of the Company, said, "Our results compare very favorably to any published results of treatment for this indication. The results we have seen are the best I've observed with this difficult-to-treat condition, which is associated with certain death. Currently available nutritional supplements or cocktail antiviral drugs known as HAART are inefficient for correction of wasting and V1 can be useful add-on option to HAART or as stand-alone therapy. Other treatment options like recombinant human growth hormone (HGH), produced by Swiss company Serono, are quite effective but they are too expensive for third world countries.”

Mr. Vichai Jirathitikal, the Chairman of the Immunitor, said, “We plan to initiate a similar Phase III multi-site trial program in four countries in Africa. Depending on ethics committees’ decision in respective countries the trials will start sometime before International AIDS Conference to be held in July of this year in Bangkok. We are especially proud that our charitable work which provided free treatment to more than 40,000 AIDS patients in Thailand and other developing countries led to the nomination of the Company for 2004 Bill Gates Award in Global Health.”

Politics for the November Elections from a ‘Reformed Liberal’: New Book Supports Grassroots Movement for Increased Conservatism

Politics for the November Elections from a ‘Reformed Liberal’: New Book Supports Grassroots Movement for Increased Conservatism

Suzanne Vergote, author of Wake up America! We’re Headed in the Wrong Direction, says she used to be a mostly-apathetic “liberal environmentalist”—that is, until the events of 9/11 caused her to take a closer look at America’s politics. Suzanne Vergote, author of Wake up America! We’re Headed in the Wrong Direction, says she used to be a mostly-apathetic “liberal environmentalist”—that is, until the events of 9/11 caused her to take a closer look at America’s politics. Now Vergote is a staunch supporter of conservatism and the Tea Party movement sweeping the nation, and wrote the controversial, politically-charged book Wake up America! to educate politically uninformed or new voters for the upcoming mid-term elections.

In this political climate of Democrats vs. Republicans, Republicans are creating a stir in a push to control Capitol Hill. In Wake up America! (aptly described with the cover title “November 2010, the Most Important Vote of Your Life”), Vergote discusses her beliefs that President Obama’s administration is leading the country in a downward spiral and deliberately destroying the economy of America. Offering background, reference materials and definitions, the book addresses how political leaders have contributed to a worsening situation in the United States.

“I am passionate about this book, about making a difference in this country, and about educating others,” says Vergote. “It’s an eye opener for the uninformed, and it’s a snapshot of what people need to know to make an intelligent choice at the ballot box.”

Wake up America! informs citizens about the important political issues at the forefront today, and presents an action plan to encourage Americans to go beyond party lines and do what is “right for the country”: unite, vote and send a message. The book explains how:
Powerful unions have influenced government policy  The immigration policy has affected the economy  Environmental issues should be addressed  Health care reform has impacted Americans Wake Up America! We’re Headed in the Wrong Direction

The Not So Happy Happy Meal

The Not So Happy Happy Meal

Take control of your child's nutrition one kids meal at a time. View kids meal nutrition guides for fast food meals.

Denver (PRWEB) March 26, 2008

The combination of fast food and cheap toys create a near universal appeal for kid's meals in America. With many children (pre-teen) raised on the appeal and instant gratification promised by the all powerful kid's meal, it's easy to see how small choices can impact your child's health.

Take the most popular meal of all - the McDonald's Happy Meal. With the hamburger variety topping out at about 600 calories and many families opting for 2-3x per week, parents struggle to balance the benefits of convenience with real world nutrition. With incidence rates of childhood obesity and diabetes at record levels, it's clear parents need to step up their control of food choices that can be habit forming at an early age.

Add in the standard soda and you've just super sized your child's waistline too. Consider the following popular choices marketed to children by the leading fast food chains:

· Burger King Kids Meal (Cheeseburger, Fries, Sprite): 670 calories
· McDonalds Happy Meal (6 piece nuggets, Sm Fries, Sm Coke): 610 calories
· Wendy's Kids Meal (Hamburger, Kids Fries, Sm Coke) 570 calories

With USDA and Institute for Medicine Dietary Reference estimates for moderately active kids (age 4- 13) range from 1,400 - 2,200 calories a day. That makes the choice for the throw-away toy and convenient lunch about half of junior's daily calorie quota. That's rough.

Behind the empty calories the nutritional outlook looks even worse. The buns rank high on the GI scale, loaded with sugar and 'enriched' flour and salt. Many parents have been reluctant to apply the same insight into types of fats and carbohydrates when it comes to our kids food selections - in short, convenience tends to win.

For many parents with children, making even a small change can be beneficial. Wayne Becker of GlycemicEdge. com and publisher of the glycemic index table (http://glycemicedge. com/glycemicindextable. html) adds "The temptations of convenience foods as mass marketed are everywhere. Start by making smaller, incremental changes - including smaller, more frequent meals with modest portions. Finding lower and moderate GI foods can be done - even at the fast food emporiums - including salads and some soups."

While permanently avoiding fast food choices may not be realistic for many, planning ahead can provide tangible benefits and limit the damage. Becker recommends:
· Plan ahead - Bring snacks and healthier choices for mobile trips packed from home
· Glycemic Index (http://www. glycemicedge. com) friendly - Look for whole grain foods and limit high GI choices (high & hidden sugar foods)
· Smaller portions - portion control offsets even poor food options
· Break the habit - avoid the expectation for fast food. Once a month is a treat. Once or twice a week can be habit forming.

"Let's face it - tackling the millions of advertising dollars and recurring messages adolescents face is a tall order. Kids are inundated with guilty, unhealthy food choices at nearly every turn." Becker recommends parents make informed choices - even a small improvement can help your child and reduce the incidence of future heart disease, diabetes, and other ailments.

While the occassional convenience detour or treat is at times undeniable, limiting the frequency for trips to McDonald's and other fast food convenience options is key to taking control of your child's nutrition and preventing a super sized headache.
