VroomÂ… Vrrooom: 16th Annual Cameron Park Show & Shine / Fly-in Revs Up For a Great Show

Where can you find nearly 300 beautiful hot rods and planes in one place? At the 16th annual Cameron Park Show & Shine / Fly-in on Saturday October 1st.

Cameron Park, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2005

The Cameron Park Soroptimists are proud to be the new hosts of the 16th Annual Cameron Park Show & Shine / Fly-in on October 1st.

What?

The day kicks off with the traditional pancake breakfast hosted by and benefiting Young Life. Then off to view some cool cars.

You will find plenty of local vendors and booths for different organizations, with food, fun, prizes, and drawings throughout the day.

The Cameron Park Soroptimists have managed to get some interesting exhibits as well. Among them are the Flying Samaritans, Search & Rescue, Fire Dept., and the Airforce. There will also be plenty of local vendors showing off their goods and services.

At 2:00 make sure to find out if your favorite car or plane is a winner of the Best of Show! There are so many categories from classic to comical.

Where?

The Cameron Park Airpark is located at Cameron Park Drive and Oxford. Adults and kids alike always enjoy taking photos of the super-short street signs in this Airpark community. This community is unique in that the streets are wide enough for the airplanes, the signs are low so the wings don't hit them, and many homes boast "2 plane" garages.

Why?

Other than being just plain cool, this event is presented by the Cameron Park Soroptimists as a fundraiser for local youth programs. In the past, they have supported local projects such as:

Contributed to furnishing the Library in Cameron Park, made a major contribution to the new observatory being built in Placerville, provided a grant to Ponderosa High School to install electricity in the Agricultural Barn and horticultural Green house, provided "Baby think it over" to the local high schools for their life-skills classes, supported the California Flying Samaritans in their work in Mexico, provided grant funding to Dusty's Place, Scleroderma Research, and Lilliput Childrens.

Special thanks go out to our sponsors who helped make this event possible:
