First Green Revolution 10,000 years ago brought a new concept of living that we still enjoy and suffer (mostly suffer).
Mother Culture declares that before the adoption of Agricultural methods, human beings were mere beasts living absurd lifes in dark caves, brutes, stupids, fearsome and violents.
Latest scientific discoveries go in the opposite direction:
Paleolithic humans lived in small communities with strong internal cohesion and family and friendship ties. They didn't have grotesque social differences and lived in a cooperative way. They were well adapted to their environment and with small to none of the drawbacks currently assigned to.
They weren't the preferred menu for any carnivorous animal big or small. They didn't need to spend lots of time and effort to get their daily pittance - no more than 3 hours a day-
Even current hunter-gatherer tribes in marginal conditions and living in undesirable areas, outperform their agricultural neighbours when calories/time or calories_obtained/calories_spent ratios are checked (even more if they are compared with state of the art agricultural machinery based on cheap fossil fuel energy).
The change to the agricultural way of live changed all of that.
Suddently there was a territory to protect, a hard work to do: clearing, plowing, tilling,... Nowadays hunting and fishing are hobbies for the rich class, not a "In the sweat of your face..." kind of activity, in contrast to gardening without modern resources.
Current research reveals that the transition from hunting-gathering to growing our food, had a huge toll in every aspect of life, in health, happiness, suffering, ecology, richness/poverty, political power, authority, liberty, technology, suicidal tendencies, education, spiritual development, energy, etc.
The systematic adoption of agriculture to provide more and more the lion's part in human diet brought several consequences never seen before and with consequence in these days, the most important being:
The novelty of Food Reserves: Hunter-gatherer groups had no control on their food sources: game, fisheries, wild fruits, nuts, roots and vegetables, (with seasonality and periods of scarcity) were searched and mostly consumed on the spot.
The adoption of agriculture allowed the silage of grains and the increased amount of food available drove quickly to a population increment; to feed this new population, new land had to be cultivated, resulting in more reserves, and so on and on. This spiral marks the expansive nature of systematic agricultural groups submitting or absorbing the more stable population of hunter-gatherers.
This trend is still running, every year increasing the production of food and the human population, and this expansion is bringing chaos to Natural reservoirs and biological diversity.
Know the facts and learn that you aren't helpless. In this website the reader won't find the information "ready to digest".
A personal effort is required, some keywords are given to the visitor for research. Help is offered, but the initial reposibility is for the readerer to act like the webpage title:
"Take Your Life in Your Hands".
This page has been running and growing in the last months as a personal project, with the aim of learning the basics of web publishing and offering useful hard to find information.
