AM 1100 The Flag Joins 'The Allen Hunt Show'

Nationwide expansion of radio show continues with new Scott Hennen talk station

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 18, 2008

"The Allen Hunt Show," the nation's only talk radio show that ignores right versus left politics in favor of talking about right and wrong, announced today that it has added its newest Midwestern affiliate, WZFG, "AM 1100 The Flag." Listeners in the Fargo, N. D. region will experience a talk radio show that provides a fresh take on relevant topics influencing their everyday lives.

The show airs every Sunday from 5:00 - 9:00 p. m. CST. In addition to its newest affiliate, "The Allen Hunt Show" is syndicated every Saturday and Sunday evening in national markets including WSB Atlanta; WFLA Tampa, Fla.; WBT Charlotte, N. C.; WOOD Grand Rapids, Mich.; KRMG Tulsa, Okla.; KMJ Fresno, Calif.; WHIO Dayton, Ohio and KTTH Seattle.

"I met Allen Hunt in June 2008 at this year's Talkers Magazine New Media Seminar, and was impressed with the show's success at WSB Atlanta, as well as other national markets," said Scott Hennan, CEO and owner of AM 1100 The Flag. "After becoming familiar with the vision of the show, I was certain that signing up as an affiliate would be a good decision. Allen's show is a perfect cap for the broadcast week, providing our listeners with thought provoking and relevant dialogue that will promote healthy conversation during the week."

Mainstream talk radio's only program that deals with topics and issues that relate to real life and faith, "The Allen Hunt Show" helps listeners with issues from a unique, yet never preachy faith perspective. This syndication in the Fargo, N. D. market exemplifies the show's continued goal of expanding its geographic presence across the United States and increasing its listeners.

About The Allen Hunt Show
The Allen Hunt Show is the nation's only syndicated talk radio show that focuses on "where real life and faith come together." Syndicated in multiple markets, The Allen Hunt Show brings a new voice and a different conversation to talk radio. Most show topics - which have included the media's ignorance on the "F" word, "George Carlin In Heaven", polygamy, and shotgun weddings for teens - focus on subjects few would expect from a radio show. The Allen Hunt Show is not about politics, nor is it a faith-based counseling show. It is a highly engaging talk show, focusing on timely and relevant, real life issues, and how faith impacts them. Resolution: A Plan to Create Peace and Harmony

Resolution: A Plan to Create Peace and Harmony

Pacific Way Foundation's Objectives are to foster peace. Our plan is more comprehensive than anything ever seen, and quite different. It stimulates creativity.

(PRWEB) January 4, 2004

Pacific Way Foundation, a Vancouver BC based non-profit (pacificway. org) has released a comprehensive program designed to stimulate creativity, and unify believers. The program stimulates solving problems with timely practical solutions. It also raises awareness that a prophet has or will return soon to be amongst us. Our plan, inspired and guided by the Creator, saves us from several nasty future events, and eliminates the divisive and fear laden mess that various opinions foster against peace. Our program clearly makes the world a better place. Results range from socially oriented to highly beneficial for students to healthful, yet many solutions require their fulfillment in business.

The answers begin with a short course to discover and utilize our Source of creativity. The course is key to allowing us to hear the Creator, or speak with any genuine prophet or shaman in terms they understand. Applications of the course material show a spectrum of use ranging from solving or preempting crimes, health problems or occasions where creativity is needed.

Unifying believers begins by commemorating a well-known prophet who, unbeknownst to many, had a coin minted in India in his honor 1900 years ago. His 'return', although hidden from public view, is not without its effects. Reasons for being 'hidden' are obvious. It's partly because dogma, loved in bureaucratic minds as a means to control and regulate, lurks barely seen as it kills, oppresses or imprisons people and their God-given creativity. The politics of dogma unwittingly sets the stage for wars. (This war in Iraq was foreseen 2200 years ago in the Book of Enoch.)

Money from sales by participating non-profits, of a replica of the commemorative coin, will raise funds for Pacific Way's programs. That includes documentaries, funding incentive awards, increasing literacy by multimedia means without paper books, fostering democracy, and home ownership in every country for a significant increase of capitalization. It includes plans for a progressive food accumulation to precede a foreseen five year global drought. Plans to massively increase useable water and for a far faster means of transport exist too. With Foundation objectives of peace and reverence for life in mind, the plan includes replacing firearms with a non-lethal alternative.

How are our foreseen problems solved or resolved? Our dreams provide the answers. The Creator supplies them. We apply reasoning, our knowledge and action for useful results according to our abilities.

Laboratorios Ferrer and Oryzon Genomics Announce an Agreement to Develop Products for the Early Diagnosis and Prognosis of Colorectal Cancer

Laboratorios Ferrer and Oryzon Genomics Announce an Agreement to Develop Products for the Early Diagnosis and Prognosis of Colorectal Cancer

The pharmaceutical company Ferrer Internacional, the third Spanish pharma company and the Catalan biotech Oryzon Genomics announced today in Barcelona their agreement of technological collaboration to develop new products for early diagnosis and prognosis of colon cancer. The agreement will require an investment of almost one million euros just in the R&D phase and aims to improve the molecular tools for early diagnosis as well as for the prognosis of sporadic colorectal cancer.

(PRWEB) April 3, 2005

CRC is a frequent cancer that affected in 2003 more than 300,000 people in Europe and the U. S.A. In spite of a very long tumour development period, lasting often for years, the mortality related to the disease is high. The lack of specificity and sensibility of the current diagnosis methods ( fecal blood tests) explain this situation. Other techniques with high diagnosis value such as colonoscopy cannot be extended for general screening due to associated risks and cost for the health public systems. As a result, the diagnosis is often done at advanced stages of the tumour development when the illness has a very poor prognosis compared to early stages.

Carlos Buesa, Chief Executive Officer of Oryzon genomics highlights: “the last advances in genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics have opened a door to the development of new products for early non-invasive diagnosis through the detection of early biomarkers. Our collaboration with a Spanish leading company and of great international potential such as Ferrer International is a basic reinforcement in our R&D strategy in molecular diagnosis and represents an important step for our strategy of alliances and collaborations with the pharmaceutical industry”. Carlos de Lecea, head of business development of Ferrer has noted that “these new diagnosis tools should allow to reduce the high tax of mortality associated to this pathology. In this sense, we estimate that a diagnosis system such as the one predicted could reduce mortality of this illness up to a 40% in the next ten years. Ferrer, through its unit Ferrerfarma, bets firmly for the fields of oncology and, in general, for advanced therapies. The collaborations with different research companies, especially in the U. S.A., are allowing the creation of a wide portfolio that from last generation rexinoids, therapeutic vaccines for use in oncology, selective fusion proteins, and innovative support Therapies, make of it a reference in this kind of medical advances.

The project, which will last for 2 years in its R+D stage, has the collaborative support of the Catalan Institute of Oncology and the College Hospital Vall d’Hebrón as well as of clinic specialists recognised internationally. It will imply the combined analysis by means of genomic and proteomic techniques of hundreds of tumour samples. The results of the analysis will be studied by a multidisciplinary team of up to 18 researchers from the four involved teams, targeting both the early diagnosis and the prognosis of the illness.

Ferrer Internacional, S. A.

Grupo Ferrer was born from an existing chemical company that in 1959, as a result of the growing importance of its activity came to change its name for Laboratoris Ferrer, and became Ferrer Internacional, S. A. in 1975, society that finally became leader of Grupo Ferrer. Nowadays, Grupo Ferrer is one of the main Spanish pharmaceutical companies and a European partner for many leading multinationals in this sector.

Grupo Ferrer has R+D centres in France, Germany and Spain, and participates in many research projects together with different leading European and American institutions. Grupo Ferrer integrates 30 companies that operate worldwide and has diversified its activity to include sectors such as pharmacy, food science, and fine chemistry, mainly focusing on the improvement of health and life quality of people. Grupo FerrerÂ’s vocation is to offer products of the highest scientific level oriented to the needs of the client together with health formation programs to facilitate the access to the constant advances in the medical and pharmacological areas, as well as a continuous adaptation to the demands of health professionals, patients, and people in general.

Oryzon Genomics, S. A.

Oryzon genomics, the first Spanish functional genomics company, was founded in 2000 as a spin-off of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Barcelona. With a young, international and interdisciplinary team of 35 scientists with our main lab sites based in the Barcelona Science Park. A research centre of excellence homing more than 800 scientist and 20 companies. In 2004, Oryzon genomics reached break-even, announced several important strategic alliances, filed three patent applications and launched a joint-venture filial company in collaboration with two other Spanish BiotechÂ’s.

OG has developed a whole platform with complementary advanced technologies to study gene function including, among others, analysis of gene expression using whole genome or specialised DNA chips for a variety of species. Where the necessary transcriptomes can be build up and the probe set for any DNA chip can be generated with our own oligo design software (Tethys). A new bioinformatics tool to manage expression and mutant data in an intuitive environment representing the organism (Orymold), permits identification of potentially interesting targets for their incorporation in projects of genetic improvement. Finally we have proprietary developments in protein profiling as well as the state of the art in proteomic approaches.

Spain with 42 million people is the 9th economy of the world and the 5th of Europe. With an excellent universal healthcare system, its network of hospitals of excellence provides market opportunities for biotechnological companies with profound local knowledge and scientific network. Oryzon benefits from the collaborations with the best Spanish Hospitals to identify diagnostic and prognostic markers in a number of prevalent diseases. In this Biomarkers Dicovery area, our approach is:

.-Focused on Cancer and Neurodegenerative diseases

.-Involving in a collaborative effort the best Hospitals of Spain

.-Using combined Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics

.-Small to medium size projects ( less than 1M euros in the R&D phase)

.-Co-development Projects. Oryzon invests usually up to 20% of the R&D expenditures

From Rushed Physicians to Know-It-All M. D.s How to Deal with Difficult Doctors

From Rushed Physicians to Know-It-All M. D.s How to Deal with Difficult Doctors

Drs. Ettinger and Weisbrot help individuals to become fully informed, aware and pro-active patients who take an active role in dealing with their health care providers.

(PRWEB) May 7, 2004

They heal our bodies, provide medical advice, encourage disease prevention, and help us live longer, healthier lives. No wonder we admire our physicians. But what about when we feel that our doctors have become too rushed, too controlling or too clinical? What can we do to handle what's perceived to be a "difficult doctor"?

Get the answers by interviewing Long Island residents and authors, Alan Ettinger, M. D., and Deborah Weisbrot, M. D., who offer a unique perspective on enhancing the patient/doctor relationship. They'll discuss:

-The 5 biggest problems and misunderstandings that arise between doctor and patient.

-Empowering yourself for a doctor visit. What information should you share? Which questions should you ask? How can you be sure you won't misinterpret or forget medical advice?

-Why good physicians are not offended if you ask about medications, suggested treatments, alternative and complementary medicines, or getting a second opinion.

-Your roles in helping doctors avoid mistakes.

-Whether you get better service by being an "impatient patient."

-What they learned during Dr. Weisbrot's life - threatening illness, when the roles were reversed and they had to deal with immense challenges on the patient side of the health delivery system.

Credentials:

Alan Ettinger, M. D., is director of the Long Island Jewish Medical Center's Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. His wife, Deborah Weisbrot, M. D., is director of the Stony Brook Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center. These speakers and educators have co-authored The Essential Patient Handbook: Getting the Health Care Your Need - From Doctors You Know
