Nude Recreation Week Takes Off

Nude Recreation Week Takes Off

• Nude Recreation Week gives first-timers the chance to try clothes-free recreation; • Open for individuals and families to visit one of the 267 clothing-optional clubs affiliated with AANR • Nude recreation is a $400 million niche segment within the travel industry; • Nearly 50,000 AANR members enjoy clothes-free recreation

Kissimmee, FL (PRWEB) June 5, 2007

The American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) and The Naturist Society (TNS) are teaming up this summer to encourage Americans to take off their clothes during the annual Nude Recreation Week celebration, held July 9-15, 2007. Nude Recreation Week gives first-timers the chance to give clothes-free recreation a try at home or at one of the many AANR-affiliated clubs that open their doors to the public during this week.

"A national study* found that 15 percent of Americans are looking for a nude recreation experience; however, sometimes taking the initial "plunge' can be difficult for newcomers," John Kinman, President of AANR explained. "Nude Recreation Week gives the public an opportunity to try something new while at the same time allowing nudists across the country to celebrate the freedom of clothes free travel and recreation, in appropriate settings."

This annual celebration is open for individuals - and families - to visit one of the hundreds of clothing-optional clubs affiliated with AANR or TNS, and experience firsthand one of the fastest growing trends in both travel and recreation. Many of the 267 AANR-affiliated clubs have activities and events planned throughout the week - such as open houses, "canude" trips, sports and poker tournaments, "bare buns fun run," health screenings, fine arts shows and more.
Or, for those looking to try something new in the comfort of their own home, AANR and TNS recommends these "fab five" activities:
Cool off: skinny dip in your backyard pool  Make housekeeping fun: shed those clothes, turn on some music and get out the mop  Get in touch with nature: garden nude  Exercise in the buff: hit the treadmill or dust off one of those workout videos  Telecommuting in the nude: working from home-- in the nude--is actually increasing in popularity!

"We would like to spend this National Nude Recreation Week celebrating the nude human form as inherently wholesome and natural," explained Nicky Hoffman, President of TNS. "We realize that nude recreation may not be for everyone, but we urge you to give it a try. You just might like it!"
First-timers are invited to don their birthday suits at home or at a nudist resort and experience the personal liberation, stress-relief, and simple comfort of nudism.

AANR's mission is to advocate for nudity in appropriate settings as well as educate, and inform the public about its value through ongoing membership growth. It is the oldest and largest organization of its kind, representing nearly 50,000 members and their families, who enjoy clothes-free recreation throughout North America. Nude recreation has experienced tremendous growth and popularity over the last several years and has become a $400 million niche segment within the travel industry.

For the club nearest you, and to find out more about its Nude Recreation Week schedule of events, log onto the association's Web site at www. aanr. com., or call 1-800-TRY-NUDE.
Parties interested in visiting one of AANR's clubs during Nude Recreation Week should call the resort in advance to make a reservation. Media interested in setting up interviews or a visit to a club should contact YPB&R Public Relations, or the AANR office at the numbers listed above.

Adventure-Filled Autobiography Dispenses Genuine Thrills and Heartfelt Wisdom

Adventure-Filled Autobiography Dispenses Genuine Thrills and Heartfelt Wisdom

Tony Wells shares his incredible life story in his captivating new book "Black Man under the Deep Blue Sea: Memoirs of a Black Commercial Diver in Southeast Asia."

Saint Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) February 4, 2008

During his career as a commercial diver, Tony Wells survived plenty of dangerous excitement, including two near-drownings, a deadly diving disease, illegal imprisonment and several treasure hunts for sunken gold. In a friendly and unassuming tone, Wells happily recounts his deep sea adventures and the wisdom they granted him in his riveting autobiography "Black Man under the Deep Blue Sea: Memoirs of a Black Commercial Diver in Southeast Asia" (ISBN 9781424174225, PublishAmerica, 2007).

Wells' globetrotting diving career has taken him to jobs in 19 different countries, from Pakistan, to China, to the United Kingdom. After meeting quite a variety of people from different cultures and races, Wells found that most people, no matter where they're from want the same things in life: to be healthy, happy and find love.

"My message is that no matter what race or gender you are, don't let ignorant or jealous people put you down or tell you what you 'can' and 'can't' do," Wells says. "Anything is possible, so if you want to do something, just go out and do it." As the only black American diver to work in Southeast Asia's offshore oilfields during the 80s and 90s, Wells relates from his own experience what it means to overcome challenges and exceed others' expectations.

Wells' diving experience includes freelance work for oil companies, a stressful job that required dangerous oilfield support work. He also participated in several treasure hunts, most notably a two-year search for a 500-year-old Portuguese ship. It was during another treasure hunt that Wells and a friend found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time and were illegally detained by some corrupt policemen in Indonesia until a hefty bribe freed them from jail.

For an authentic read, full of truly exotic adventure, plenty of nail-biting suspense and honest humor, look no farther than "Black Man under the Deep Blue Sea" to take you into incredible excitement, far beyond the realms of ordinary life.

About the Author
Tony Wells resides in Saint Petersburg, Florida. He is also the author of "Shipwrecks & Sunken Treasure in Southeast Asia" and the e-book "Cannon Journal" and has plans to keep on writing more books. He currently works with a company that makes the world's only real-time 3D underwater sonar and is planning to search for more shipwrecks overseas in the near future.

Effects of the Brain Drain on Health Care

Effects of the Brain Drain on Health Care

Baby boomers are nearing retirement, which has caused concern over the potential for workforce shortages, particularly in the health care industry. According to the Compensation Data annual survey of more than 5,300 employers, salaries have grown rapidly for radiology directors, licensed physical therapists and staff pharmacists over the last three years in the United States, while registered nurses have seen increases in supplemental pay and benefits.

Kansas City, Kan. (PRWEB) November 7, 2006

Baby boomers are nearing retirement, which has caused concern over the potential for workforce shortages, particularly in the health care industry. As analysts make their predictions for the future, Compdata Surveys reviewed salary trends over the last few years for four positions: radiology director, licensed physical therapist, staff pharmacist and registered nurse. According to the Compensation Data annual survey of more than 5,300 employers, salaries have grown rapidly for radiology directors, licensed physical therapists and staff pharmacists over the last three years in the United States, while registered nurses have seen increases in supplemental pay and benefits.

"Many employers are worried about ‘the brain drain’ they could experience as baby boomers leave the workforce to retire," said Amy Kaminski, manager of marketing programs for Compdata Surveys. "Health care is one industry where the demand for some positions is already great. The way organizations choose to compensate their employees in this competitive market will affect how they attract and retain employees."

Some employers have had difficulty hiring sufficient numbers of radiology technologists and technicians. Because of this, it’s not surprising salaries have risen over the last three years for these positions, as well as those requiring more experience. For example, radiology directors currently make $88,569 on average across the country. Up by 4.28 percent from 2005, this position should continue to see growth as baby boomers near retirement.

In 2006, Compdata Surveys found pharmacists earn $92,741 on average nationally. This number is up by 7.7 percent from 2005 when pharmacists made $86,114 and up 14.1 percent from 2004 when wages averaged $81,278. As demand grows, pharmacists could expect to see salaries rise even higher.

The same is true for licensed physical therapists, who have seen a rise in salary as well. In 2004, licensed physical therapists could expect to make an average of $57,304 nationally. Now, in 2006, they are earning $62,636 annually. Their salaries have increased by 9.3 percent in the last three years.

Accounting for 2.4 million jobs in the United States, the U. S. Department of Labor reported registered nurses could create the second largest number of new jobs among all occupations. Since 2004, the base pay for registered nurses has stayed around $51,000. However, more hospitals are offering better rates for sign-on bonuses, on-call, call back and shift differentials. Even as health insurance rates rise, some are offering benefits to part-time employees as incentives.
