Annual African Women's Cancer Awareness Continental Gala, November 5th, 2005 from 7pm-12am at the Martin's Crosswind, 7400 Greenway Center Drive, Greenbelt MD 20770.
This elite Gala will be hosted by Angelique Shofar, founder of "Spirit of Wellness" & Executive Producer of 89.3fmÂs "Africa Meets Africa" & Attorney Margaret Dureke. It serves as a medium for the AWCAA to raise funds for adequate health education, technical expertise and medical supplies, needed for early detection and prevention of cancer in African underserved nations.

AWCAA is a 501(3) © organization established in 2004, whose mission focuses on creating awareness and access to cancer preventive healthcare and post treatment for African women within medically underserved communities in Africa.

2004Âs Gala Proceeds were used to purchase basic essentials, medicines, and supplies for children, cancer patients, and the destitute in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Ghana.

MEDICAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL DONATIONS:
AWCAA is seeking African countries to be recipients of medical and pharmaceutical supplies, medicine, educational paraphernalia, training material, and support relating but not limited to the treatment and prevention of cancer.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPURTUNITIES: AWCAA is also presenting the very first ONYEKA STACEY IDOYE EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP and LUCY ONWUMAH ADABA NURSING SCHOLARSHIP. These scholarships have been created in honor of the courageously named cancer victims. These scholarship will be awarded to individuals seeking to study in the medical and nursing fields.
