MANASC ISAAC ARCHITECTS AND STURGESS ARCHITECTURE SELECTED AS CONSULTANTS FOR CITY OF CALGARYÂ’S WATERWORKS AND WASTEWATER FACILITY
Team to provide expertise on sustainable design for City of CalgaryÂ’s new green building at Manchester Centre

Calgary, AB, September 12, 2003Â… Manasc Isaac of Edmonton, AB, and Sturgess Architecture of Calgary, AB, have been jointly appointed as prime consultants for City of CalgaryÂ’s new sustainable office building for the Waterworks and Wastewater at Manchester Centre in South East Calgary.
Located south of the Stampede Grounds in the community of Manchester, the new environmentally responsible building will spearhead the re-development of the city-owned Manchester Centre. Construction is slated to begin in 2005.
In keeping with the City’s new Sustainable Buildings Policy, in which all new facilities must follow environmental guidelines under the LEED™(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System, the building will be designed to minimize its environmental footprint, while maximizing energy efficiency and providing a healthy, dynamic working environment for city staff.
Manasc Isaac Architects and Sturgess Architecture have collaborated on previous sustainable building projects including the Banff Town Hall, and Yukon VisitorÂ’s Centre, which won the Governor GeneralÂ’s Award in 1997.
