Bands and musicians from across the Country to converge on South Florida to perform at music festival to benefit the Stop the Violence, Face the Music campaign

Over 50 bands show their support for the Stop the Violence campaign
WEST PALM BEACH-Wednesday, August 02, 2000-- The Subway Stop the Violence Benefit Concert will be held on Labor Day weekend Saturday September 2, and Sunday September 3, 2000 at Kelsey Park in Lake Park, Florida. Lake Park is a suburb of West Palm Beach.
The concert will feature performances by over 50 national and regional bands with more to be confirmed. In addition to the two stages of continuous live music; the event will feature an array of activities food and attractions as well as a "techno" area showcasing emerging artists in the genre of electronic music.
The event is a two-day music festival featuring today's hottest music acts. The Stop the Violence Benefit Concert features is being supported with on-air promotion by WPBZ-FM 103.1 The Buzz, South Florida's #1 Alternative Rock station and a web cast by Angelaudio. com with many other corporate sponsors participating. ÂThis will be a great event to create awareness and support for the Stop the Violence campaign says John Karroll, President of Stop the Violence.
In addition, Stop the Violence representatives are introducing the ÂGet Unloaded Campaign which is supported by the American Advertisers Federation (AAF). The campaign is designed to educate families about the use of communication as a tool to create stronger bonds and to combat the growing epidemic of youth violence, which was recently recognized as a public health issue by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The education of parents about the proper storage of guns, use of trigger locks or ensuring the guns are unloaded, plus restricting access of guns to minors is the key focus of the ÂGet Unloaded campaign.
In addition to the stellar line-up of music acts on the main stage, concertgoers will experience an array of quirky attractions and an electronic music stage and plenty of great food and beverages.

Bif Naked, JimmieÂs Chicken Shack, FloridaÂs own Nonpoint, recently signed to MCA Records, The Kottonmouth Kings, Zebrahead, and the following independent label bands from across the country. We are also awaiting confirmation from a couple of other national acts.
