In this context there is a lot of peer pressure, and as a result, many ilegal and violent activities take place. Some of them are stealing, phisical, emotional and sexual violence, even killing.

Dangerous work with youth at risk from Moldova
On March 1 Altruism Association started a Mentoring project for youth from poor families, who are on risk category. This project runs under the Association's Personal Development Center Program. The goal of this program is to help these vulnerable group to develop healthy life skills.
Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Eastern Europe, which was part of former USSR.
The context of young people from families at risk is affected by street gangs life stile, where the crule life rules run. In this context there is a lot of peer pressure, and as a result, many ilegal and violent activities take place. Some of them are stealing, phisical, emotional and sexual violence, even killing.
The main poject activities are run on a weekly meetings as a club gatherings for Life skills seminars, as well as personal councelling sessions. The future plans include Summer School activities, camps, recreation activities, as well as participation at Altruism Association's "Altruism in action" program, where these young people will learn to serve others just for feeling good about themselves doing it.
We are welcome any people to join us in this project, which right now is based on a volunteer work of people, who care for those, whom with is not easy and even dangerous to make contacts and have impact upon. Partners and funds and/or fundraisers for the project are welcome.
