Naturally Africa, a web-based portal focusing on South Africa, has launched on the world wide web and for just a nominal amount, South African businesses now have the chance to register their services and gain international and local exposure. These can range from accommodation to health resorts, restaurants to medical establishments, and florists to safari guides. For the visitor, and potentially new customers, Naturally Africa is the place to find somewhere to Stay, Unwind, Eat and Play. And if that is not enough the visitor searches free of charge!

So what does all this mean? The site enables South African businesses to promote their services through a mini-website hosted by Naturally Africa. The objective of each mini-website is to inform the visitor about an individual business including a description of services, location and promotions or events on offer. There is also the facility to make an online inquiry.

It is not just corporates that Naturally Africa aims to please. The site is particularly keen to promote the local events in South Africa, including School and Charity Events. Schools and charities are able to register their events free of charge and these can be searched by visitors from home and abroad.

Suzanne Whitby, founder of Naturally Africa, feels that it’s time to start getting visitors to take advantage of the “local touch” by attending local events as well as large, corporately organised promotions. “People who travel are always talking about ‘getting to know the locals’. This way, visitors will have a real opportunity to do just that and have a great time too. At the same time their money will be going directly back into the local community where it will make a real difference,” she says.

There is a wealth of travel information available in the About SA and Best of SA sections, and useful tools including a route planner and a currency converter. Businesses listed on Naturally Africa pay a fee of R399 per annum, for 24/7 advertising throughout the year. A free 4-week trial is offered for the “undecided”.
