Business Network International (BNI) is please to announce the new leadership team for the Sturbridge chapter. Les Gardner (Les Gardner Photography) has been named President, with Jenna Gervasi (Ideal Pools) serving as Vice President, and Amber Boulanger (The Domestic Diva) as Secretary/Treasurer.

BNI is a business and professional networking organization that offers each member the opportunity to share ideas, contacts, and referrals. With over 2,500 chapters worldwide, BNI is the world's leading professional business networking organization.

"BNI has been a tremendous resource for building client contacts and making new friends," said Gardner, a three-year member of the organization.

"Building trustworthy business relationships is important," added Jenna Gervasi. "And the organization has helped me gain confidence in talking with the business community."

The Membership Committee includes Tim Loan (Padgett Payroll Services), Joyce Stocks (Green Thumb Florist), Dean Babineau (Eastern Limousine), and Sarah Bohill (Alternatives for Health). Visitor Hosts are Lucie M. Lemke (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage) and Rajeev Connors (Café of Life), with Valerie Pontbriand (Four Eyes Joke Shop) serving as Mentoring Coordinator, and Peg Whitney (Mary Kay Consultant) as Education Coordinator.

The organization was the brainchild of marketing expert Dr. Ivan Misner. Based on the concept that "giverÂ’s gain" BNI offers a structured and supportive system of giving and receiving business whereby local business people can develop personal relationships with dozens of other qualified business professionals. Dr. Ivan Misner postulated that successful businesses depend on word-of-mouth advertising.

The Sturbridge chapter currently has 39 members. The organization allows only one person per profession to join a chapter. The group meets every Friday morning at 7:00 AM at the Southbridge Savings Bank Community Room located on Route 20 in Sturbridge. Visitors are welcome to attend.
