Motivational speaker, Susanne Gaddis, Ph. D., will speak at the Virginia Nurses Association Conference on Sept. 23 and 24. The conference will be held at the Quality Inn on 2360 Virginia Ave.

Motivational speaker, Susanne Gaddis, Ph. D., will speak at the Virginia Nurses Association Conference on Sept. 23 and 24 in Martinsville. The conference will be held at the Quality Inn on 2360 Virginia Ave.
Gaddis, known as “The Communications Doctor” will present “Prescriptions for Effective Communication.” During separate workshops participants will learn how to communicate with compassion, how to listen with their eyes and ears, and how to effectively deal with stress.
Conference attendees include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing students and other healthcare professionals. Pharmaceutical and hospital representatives will be in attendance.
Gaddis said, “Effective communication is an important aspect of the professional nursing field. At this conference nurses will learn communication skills they can apply throughout their career.”
