Cast Your Vote for Best Short Video Promoting Marriage Equality
$3,500 in cash to be awarded - everyone who votes is eligible to win Sony video camera.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 2, 2009
The L. A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York City put out the call, and videographers from across the nation responded by submitting short videos promoting the freedom to marry for same-sex couples. Now it's time for the public to weigh in and help select the best entrants in Project Pushback (http://www. equalityvideo. org).
From June 2-15, visitors to http://www. equalityvideo. org (http://www. equalityvideo. org) will be able to view the more than 50 video entries and vote for the ones they think are most likely to change hearts and minds in support of same-sex marriage. They'll also have the opportunity to enter a free drawing for a $1,000 digital video camera.
The stakes are high for Project Pushback entrants--the winner of the popular vote will receive a $1,000 prize, and a panel of industry experts will select the Grand Prize winner, who will receive $2,500.
But the stakes are even higher for same-sex couples across the nation, most of whom cannot legally marry in their home states. The tide is turning, but there's a lot of work to be done before everyone in this country enjoys the freedom to marry the one they love.
