Sentius Introduces RichLink® 3.3 for Windows NT and 2000 Advanced Server
Latest Release of RichLink Accelerates Implementation of Contextual Content
(PRWEB) March 27, 2002
PALO ALTO, Calif., March 28, 2002 - Sentius Corporation today announced general availability of RichLink® 3.3. In addition to the current RichLink ASP solution, version 3.3 now enables the RichLink automated content enrichment platform to be installed and deployed on customers sites thus offering companies who require integration behind their firewalls a robust contextual content solution.
RichLink automated content enrichment (ACE), made possible by patented RichLink parsing and database linking technology, enables readers to click on a highlighted word or phrase and, without leaving the web page, view an associated pop-up window (Knowledge BurstÂ) containing relevant contextual information such as text, graphics, interactive surveys, multimedia materials, news, advertisements, product information or foreign language annotations.
ÂInfoWorld launched RichLink on our site and made our money back in just 45 days. We are now actually making money with the software, said InfoWorld Chief Technology Officer Chad Dickerson. ÂRichLinkÂs scalability, reliability and ease of implementation made contextualizing InfoWorld content fast and, more importantly, profitable. Customers like Reuters Health, Apple Computer, Asahi. Com, Seiko Epson, MedicineNet, Walter Kluwers and others have used RichLink automated content enrichment to annotate over 4.5 million documents.
With the release of RichLink 3.3, tight integration of the RichLink automated content enrichment platform with websites and web applications is now possible. The platform includes the RichLink Contextual Content Server that enables web developers to organize, aggregate, and manage contextual content and create mappings between that content and key words and phrases. The RichLink Processor parses source text, identifies the key words and phrases, and links them to the contextual content stored in the Contextual Content Server. Users click on key words or phrases and then view the contextual content through the RichLink Knowledge Burst.
ÂWeÂre pleased that publishers such as InfoWorld are successfully using RichLink to increase their online revenue, said Sentius CEO Marc Bookman. ÂNow publishers can simply take it out of the box and do it themselves.Â
In addition, RichLink 3.3 now utilizes industry-standard interfaces, including a Java-based API. Custom Java applications can now be developed to manage RichLink content using the RichLink Contextual Content Server API. Instructions to edit and search for annotations, terms, and metadata are specified using XML-based input files. Use of these industry standards provides the greatest possible flexibility for integration with any existing web application or content management system.
Equally important, RichLink 3.3 expands internationalization capabilities by enabling annotations within Japanese web documents. Not only can RichLink parse and annotate English language documents, but now it can RichLink-enable Japanese documents as well. This increased functionality allows Japanese publishers to enrich their websites and increase end user satisfaction.
ÂToday's successful online publishers know the critical importance of getting their content placed in the right context at the right time, said John Blossom, Vice President and Senior Analyst at Outsell. ÂRichLink web services provide contextual web marketing, targeted syndication and cost-effective global distribution that allow publishers to rapidly deploy their content assets through the latest generation of web content management systems.Â
