Christian Nonprofit and Behavioral Health Practice Team Up to Help Children
Behavioral Health Rehabiltation Services for children (BHRS/Wraparound) offered from the Christian perspective, promote faith-formation.
Beaver, PA (PRWEB) January 24, 2010
Witness to Hope Ministries, a nonprofit corporation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, has teamed up with Parakleseos, LLC, a Christian-based behavioral health practice in Beaver, PA in order to serve at-risk and special needs children in the community. Parakleseos has been around for over fifteen years, offering psychotherapy from a Christian perspective. The small practice offers Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (wraparound) to children who require assistance beyond outpatient services and to children with Autism. James Flannick, Psy. D., the licensed psychologist who owns and operates Parakleseos invited Kevin Kacvinsky, the president and CEO of Witness to Hope Ministries to partner with him to not only offer the children the behavioral health services through wraparound, but to exceed these services by providing the children with faith-formation opportunities. Witness to Hope is working to orchestrate additional services beyond wraparound, such as social skills classes, vacation Bible school, and intercessory prayer. These services are being offered through Parakleseos under the direction of Dr. James Flannick. The project has been named "The Susan R. Kilby Program for Children," and has received the financial support necessary to carry out the mission from a private family foundation.
It is the mission of the Susan R. Kilby Program to offer behavioral health and rehabilitation (wraparound) services to children from a Christian perspective. The program is based on the belief that the whole person should be served: emotionally, physically, socially, intellectually, and spiritually. We strive to provide each family with personalized service and exceptional care. We believe that it is essential to the healing process not only to involve the family in the treatment plan, but to offer them additional services for their self-improvement and faith formation. Through the
Promotion of Christian and family values, the Susan R. Kilby Program hopes to make an impact on the wider community where it serves. It is through the wraparound program and other services that we hope to reduce and some day eliminate domestic violence in the community.
Wraparound services can be offered in the home, in school, and/or in the community. Parakleseos and The Susan R. Kilby Program are determined to provide quality psychotherapeutic intervention in a conventional and professional manner, but the purpose of the program goes beyond the emotional and psychological and also addresses the spiritual.
Families living in Beaver County, Pennsylvania interested in receiving these services can call Kevin Kacvinsky at Parakleseos (724-775-7755) for a free consultation.
If you would like to make a contribution to the Susan R. Kilby Program, checks should be written to "Witness to Hope Ministries," with "The Susan R. Kilby Program" in the memo line. Contributions are tax-deductable and can be sent to Parakleseos at 347 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009.
