Both companies specifically recognize the challenges to patients and staff in the Operating Room environment, where both companies posses valuable experience in patient handling, infection control and prevention of Deep Vein Thrombosis. It is recognized that as much as 50% of DVTs occur during surgery and consequently this has been the focus of the recent Safer Healthcare Now targeted intervention on VTE.
