Celebrity Trainer Reveals a New Way to Celebrate the Holidays
Gary Kobat Reveals the “Skinny” on Holiday Weight Gain
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 6, 2010
Gary Kobat, a celebrity integrated performance and wellness coach whose clients include numerous A-list actors including Jim Carrey, and the likes of Mariska Hargitay, Will Ferrell and Kate Winslet, is sending a message about holiday weight gain. The world-class athlete and Olympic “Mentalist” is on a mission to change the frightening fact that the average American gains 6-8 lbs from Halloween to Super Bowl Sunday. Gary represents an alternative method for celebrating the holiday’s and is providing the tools American adults need to stay in alignment with their fitness goals and achieve inner balance throughout the season, while avoiding weight gain this year and hereafter.
Holiday parties, New Year celebrations and Super Bowl Sunday can cause most Americans to increase their caloric intake by thousands. Likewise, many people are less active during the cold winter. Kobat understands that our minds are naturally programmed to allow, and even welcome, this change in routine primarily based on habit. But, as Kobat suggests, we need to change our thinking about how we celebrate during these months.
“The mind drives the body,” says Kobat, who is currently training Jim Carrey in New York City for an upcoming movie. “When we change our thinking, we can then correct the course toward those 6-8 additional pounds by changing our eating and movement.”
Three days worth of calories are consumed in ONE day over holiday meals, News Years, or Super Bowl Sunday and additional holiday meals, not to mention that most adults attend 4-8 parties throughout this time span. Junk food such as cookies, cakes, and alcohol release insulin in the body and are then stored as fat. The new method towards consciously choosing to stay in alignment with healthy intentions and fitness goals for the holiday season is an effective way to avoid easy weight gain.
Kobat explains that simple changes such as eating a pre-planned high protein meal prior to leaving for a party will help people reach health objectives; which will also not leave them at the mercy of someone else’s potentially unhealthy menu. Likewise, skip the fried finger food, which is usually high sugar and full of unwanted calories. Instead, fill up on fruits and vegetables. Most importantly, display portion control verse portion distortion - fill your plate with healthier foods and start with the protein before eating carbs.
“With a little nurturing, self-love, and appreciation for each moment you give yourself permission to stay in alignment with that inner and outer balance that is necessary throughout the entire season,” says Kobat, who is currently training Jim Carrey in New York City for an upcoming movie. “With this new method of self-care and intention, you are able to avoid weight gain this year and hereafter.”
