Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 28, 2007
ReachMD XM Satellite Radio (Channel 157) and the United States Air Force (USAF), today announced the launch of a new programming series designed to highlight the humanitarian missions, and accomplishments of medical professionals in the USAF.
Dr. Robert Gilmore and Dr. John H. Armstrong will co-host the new series entitled "Heroes in Air Force Medicine". Both have a distinguished military background and offer listeners first-hand insight into the role and service military medical professionals bring to the civilian medical community around the world.
Dr. Gilmore began his training as a distinguished graduate from the Air Force Academy in 1967 and continued his career as a Commander in the USAF. While travelling around the world, he headed up the 310th Contingency Hospital in the United Kingdom and the 7100 CSW Medical Center in Germany. Dr. Armstrong is a surgical educator and trauma surgeon who served in the US Army Medical Corps for 17 years, rising to the rank of Colonel and serving as the Director of the US Army Trauma Training Center in Miami, FL.
ReachMD and the USAF together launch this groundbreaking series which showcases the skills, experiences, and knowledge acquired by serving as a medical professional in the USAF. "The U. S. Air Force places a high premium on top-quality medical care for its Airmen and their families. It made great sense to work in cooperation with ReachMD to highlight the skills of the Air Force healthcare professionals and to educate America's healthcare communities on Air Force medical advancements, training, education, quality of life, and humanitarian efforts. We are excited to feature such outstanding members of the USAF on ReachMD for other medical professionals to learn from," said Major Sean McKenna, United States Air Force Recruiting Serve Spokesperson.
ReachMD, the first and only network for medical professionals, provides unparalleled reach into the medical community. As such, it offers an ideal medium for the USAF to communicate the broad benefits of service. Gary Epstein, CEO of ReachMD said "ReachMD is proud to work with the USAF and to broadcast this very special series. The programming not only makes for compelling radio but also helps those interested in a career in the service gain better insight and understanding about the work done by some of our nation's most dedicated medical professionals."
