Pro Speakers Bureau, a nationwide consortium of culturally diverse experts, speakers, trainers, consultants, coaches and facilitators based in Atlanta’s launched its now successful series of teleclass in March of this year. The teleclasses - which are seminars held over the telephone - feature the bureau's members sharing their varied expertise to an expanding national audience.

"Pro Speakers Bureau represents speakers with a wide area of expertise and books them with corporate, governments, association and educational clients, but coordinating and hosting a series of teleclasses gives us the opportunity to reach individuals, entrepreneurs, companies, and nonprofits who haven’t heard about us yet,” according to Rick Sherréll, founding member of the bureau.

The members of Pro Speakers Bureau are subject matter experts who mold simple, action-oriented strategies and deliver them in a cost-effective manner through the teleclasses. Each of them has the goal of contributing to our online learners' success. They hold 60 to 90 minute teleclasses on a wide range of topics including business planning, marketing, leadership, ministries, health, money, relationships, women's issues and more.

"Teleclasses are the hottest trend in continuing education," says Sherréll. "They're affordable, there's no travel involved - for the expert or for the students, and they maximize the use of everyone's time."

In addition, the bureau has found that using simple technology that everyone is familiar with - the telephone - all geographic boundaries are removed. A teleclass can be taken any time, anywhere, from any phone. People today are used to technology and attending training or an information session over the phone is just as effective as taking the class in person.

An unusual service for a speakers bureau to be involved in, Sherréll sees it as the logical thing to do. "We're unlike traditional bureaus," he says. "We function based on the cooperation and mutual support of our members. We and our members work together to cross-promote our expertise and expand our reach into new markets across the United States. We actively seek ways to collaborate, create new and exciting offerings, remove geographic and cultural boundaries and expand our marketplace." Sherréll sees coordinating and promoting the bureau members' teleclasses as an innovative way to do that.

"I've been holding teleclasses for years," says Oakland, California-based executive and personal coach Lolita Thomas. "Marketing them and filling the 'seats' is always a challenge but, being a part of Pro Speakers Bureau's teleclass series is helping me reach new customers and markets outside of my own geographic area."
