Author and pulisher Ray Darken has noticed a strong swing to a healthy weight loss intent by customers and visitors to his website than ever before. "Over the last four years most customers were seeking out nutrition rich recipes or simply tasty cuisine for themsleves or their families. The last six months have shown a higher query rate (18%) to healthier weight loss and weight loss management." said Ray.
Dr. Sharon Orrange, MD wrote an informative article recently which explored the Mediterranean diet as a 3 dimensional weight loss solution. Not only do people lose weight on the Mediterranean Diet, but it also seems to protect the heart and the brain. The Mediterranean Diet offers a very healthy way to lose weight when you compare it to many of the other weight loss trends available. Dr. Orrange not only addressed the “dos” of the Mediterranean Diet, but also the ‘”don’ts”.
The Mediterranean diet is one such researched diet that isn't man made and is also supported by almost endless research across the globe not only on Mediterranean diet weight loss (http://www. safe-and-easy-weightloss. com/Mediterranean-diet-weight-loss. htm) studies
Using research and studies to help make a logical decision on the subject of losing weight has to be a little more responsible than simply taking pot luck or trusting any miracle cure sales pitch. Especially if it can affect your health permanently or even temporarily. It seems much of the success would be portion related and include exercise.
Diet experts agree a Mediterranean diet is effective for not only losing weight, but even more importantly, for long term weight management. Individuals who stick with the Mediterranean diet do not suffer from the post diet weight gain that can follow other weight loss programs and become improbale to continue with long term and also disease prevention (http://the-mediterranean-diet. com/category/disease-prevention). .
The risk of other diseases such as dementia, osteoporosis, Alsheimers, allergies and some cancers have shown to be minimized with the adoption of the Mediterranean diet.
Researchers at the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain at Columbia University Medical Center studied 1,393 people showing no signs of early dementia, and 482 people who did have symptoms of mild cognitive impairment, or early dementia. All the individuals' in the study had their daily diets scrutinised and were then given a rating as to how well they followed the Mediterranean diet. The individuals were then followed up for 4 1/2 years on average.
After 4 1/2 years, 275 of the 1,393 individuals who did not have mild cognitive impairment initially went on to develop this. Those individuals who followed the Mediterranean diet most strictly had a 28% reduced chance of developing early dementia, as compared to those who ate less of a Mediterranean style diet. Those in the middle group of eating Mediterranean foods still obtained good results and protection with a 17% reduced risk of dementia (http://www. safe-and-easy-weightloss. com/Mediterranean-diet-helps-prevent-dementia. htm).
Though data is incomplete, in 1985 most states had an obesity rate below 10% of the general population. By the turn of the century, the rate in 21 states was over 20%, and recently Colorado was the only state with a rate below 20%. More alarming still is the fact that six states now exceed a 30% rate of obesity!
Research indicates most heart foundations agree with the Mediterranean diet's positive findings from research universities and institutes (http://www. safe-and-easy-weightloss. com/Mediterranean-diet-research. htm) currently available for perusal.
The Mediterranean diet food pyramid is taken from sixteen or so countries which surround the Mediterranean sea.
