The Women PresidentsÂ’ Organization (WPO) hosted a reception honoring the winners of the 2004 Pinnacle Business Awards recently at the Matthews House in Cary. The event recognized WPO members and award recipients Adrienne Lumpkin of Alternate Access, Inc., Erika Mangrum of Iatria Day Spas and Health Center, Beverly Murray of R+M, and Judy Smith of Smith Seal of NC, as well as the other recipients of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of CommerceÂ’s prestigious Pinnacle Business awards.
The Pinnacle Awards recognize both emerging companies as well as companies that have exhibited a substantial history as an established business, including the First Citizens Bank Amazing Customer Service Award and the Pinnacle Business Awards to five entrepreneurs whose companies have exhibited staying power, innovation, and community involvement as well as to companies who have exhibited steady profitability and growth over the past three years.
WPO is a nonprofit membership organization whose members are a diverse group of entrepreneurial women presidents who have guided their businesses to generate at least $2 million in gross annual sales or $1 million for a service-based business. Each WPO chapter serves as a peer advisory group and empowers members to achieve increased business and financial success, as well as individual growth. Local chapters are coordinated by a professional facilitator who organizes meetings of the peer advisory group to focus on important business issues and cutting-edge business trends. WPO member businesses have an average of $11,332,476 in annual revenues, 85 employees, and 16 years in business.
