Compeer San Diego will be Presented with the UNITY Program Award
Compeer San Diego, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing friendship, information, and support to individuals with mental illnesses in San Diego, will be presented with a Unity Award from Palomar Pomerado Health on Friday, November 4, 2005. This award recognizes individuals and groups in North County for their outstanding contributions to the health and safety of their communities through the Health Care Advisory Councils. Compeer San Diego will be receiving the award during the ceremony at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, CA.

Compeer San Diego, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing friendship, information, and support to individuals with mental illnesses in San Diego, will be presented with a Unity Award from Palomar Pomerado Health on Friday, November 4, 2005. This award recognizes individuals and groups in North County for their outstanding contributions to the health and safety of their communities through the Health Care Advisory Councils. Compeer San Diego will be receiving the award during the ceremony at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, CA.
“Compeer San Diego, strives very hard for San Diego to support the mental health community and accepting this award from the Palomar Pomerado Health group is a huge accomplishment for our organization,” states Shannon Jaccard, President and Founder of Compeer San Diego. “The Palomar Pomerado Health group has been supportive since we were founded in 2003 and we our honored to be apart of this exciting event.”
Compeer San Diego has accomplished many milestones in 2005. Some of them include:
Exceeded the organization’s goal of having a record 30 friendship matches, the most since the start of the program;
Extended its program for the youth of San Diego County to include youth ages thirteen and up; and
Shannon Jaccard received the Outstanding Young American award, an award that is only given to twelve people in the state of California from the California Jaycees.
