Gaithersburg, Maryland (PRWEB) January 18, 2007

SignaGen Laboratories (SignaGen) today announced that it has introduced a novel DNA in vitro transfection reagent, GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent at $139/ml, only about 55% of cost compared with major brand name products. GenJet™, based on proprietary lipid conjugation and polymer synthesis technologies, is formulated by covalently crosslinking polymer to cationic liposome, giving rise to superior efficiency and extremely low toxicity on a variety of mammalian cells, either adherent or suspension. Its simple protocol and high efficiency enables researchers to get satisfactory results easy, fast, and cost-effective, which is critical for low-budget laboratories and high-volume users.

Due to declining federal research budgets and increasing labor and material costs, more and more researchers have to cut their expenses by seeking inexpensive alternatives with high quality. SignaGen realizes this market need and keeps working on new product development at low cost, GenJet™ is the result of its efforts.

"We have been striving to develop and manufacture novel transfection reagents. We hope GenJet™ could be the top choice for these low-budget laboratories and high volume users for transfecting mammalian cells. To provide high-quality products at affordable price is always our philosophy and priority, we are continuing to offer more innovative products to these customers." said Dr. Jeffrey Zhou, one of Marketing Managers of SignaGen. "The chimera combines the advantages of both liposome and polymer with terrific transfection efficiency and invisible cytotoxicity. This product is absolutely better than those brand name products in terms of efficiency, cytotoxicity and price. I got more than 20% of GFP positive on mouse primary skin fibroblast while Lipofectamine 2000™ killed more than 90% of primary fibroblast after 4 hours serum-free incubation. I'll order more…" A beta-tester at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) said after testing GenJet™.
